How fantastic to hear an educated American guy talking about my favourite band..James are playing in Stockton tonight (Fri may 31st)..(I should be there) 😢😢😢 Keep spreading the word mate, I'm subbed -great channel.
I was also thinking only yesterday (after watching several TH-cam videos of James's recent (2022-24) concerts, that both Chloe & Debbie have really been positive additions to the band. I love James's stuff through all the ages/decades, but what they've done & are continuing to do these last 3-5 years has taken them to the next level (in my opinion). & the story of how they came to be in the band is quite interesting (it's also on TH-cam amongst their many interviews & songs).
You have to go through the back catalogue from the mid 80s to really appreciate how great this band is. It's incredible just how underrated this band is. Tim Booth sings in 4 octaves and in his 60s, the voice is as powerful as it was in his 20s. The lyrics are probing and stirring.
It’s pretty great, and an improvement on the album prior. Really lacks David Baynton Power drums (again). Wonder why he skips performing on the albums lately. Mobile God is an all-timer for me.
@@DeathlessDevil from what I gather from something Tim said, it’s distance of all parties involved and probably the pain of recording drums is not equal to the ease of programming and samples. After decades it’s like a lot of these bands become a core of a one or two people doing everything filled out by players, which was like the way Jesus Jones and NIN operated but I see it a lot more w The Killers or Primal Scream etc

Thanks for the review. This band is amazing and sorely under-appreciated here in the states. Agree that this one is (one of) their very special ones.

james is one of the best live bands out there right now. i hope that you got to see the tour!
