I was 12 years old when this was broadcast in England. It made an impression! Scared a few million kids out of their wits 😅 The analyst was right - it certainly was talk of the playground on Monday! I'd forgotten how adult & nasty some of the backstory was. Thanks for the upload!
Ironically it also seems to be the least-recognised, but probably best-executed adaptation of the story of The Enfield Poltergeist (in that it recognisably draws on that real-life case, even if it isnt a specific adaptation of it) - and the thing I found really fascinating is that the BBC broadcast a very similar show - a fake live radio broadcast from Britain's most haunted house - all the way back in 1937, on Christmas Eve.
Remember watching this when I was 14 it was brilliant, Pipes was the talk of my class for the next few weeks.
