Thank you for this video. As a recent empty nester, this was so useful. Earlier kids used to take care of all this stuff- for the first time I had to do it on my own and I was so proud of myself- thanks to you!
Thank you, so much. You're patient explanation and terrific video made this a quick and easy task. I'm sure that without your video that I would have missed putting the white flap back in between the two batteries, as if I'd opened it without the video, I would surely not have seen it. Carry on with the good work!
Video explains how to change them great and I appreciate that. But idk why it doesn’t matter that I put 2 brand new energizer batteries in both my key fobs and neither work at all anymore.
THANK YOU SO MUCH KIND SIR!!!! your video just helped me change my battery, there’s no doubt if I took it to the dealer, they would’ve charge me a whole lot to do this. So thank you for helping me by sharing your knowledge ❤❤❤🙏🏽🤗
Thanks, man. Hoping this is what is wrong with my car. I pop the key in the dash, and the car won't turn over, but some of the accessories work. Then, the key fob doesn't want to come out of the dash! :(
I would have to trick the car by holding the battery cable (loosen it, take off) and hold it on the other post. You will hear the car "reset" and the key will pop out. Yes, the batteries are so hard to find.
Great video, thanks for that. I have an ‘08 Volvo S80 that I just got and it has the 6 button communicator remote. But I only have one. If I get a new 2nd one, are they customer programmable?
I made the mistake of buying the cheapest batteries from Amazon. The the fob wouldn't work. Changed out to Energizer batteries and now everything works fine.
I have tried 2 different sets of new batteries and I still have to be almost touching the car with the fob for it to take commands. No range. Any ideas why?
If only one fob is acting that way then it may just be an issue with the fob itself. It multiple fobs are acting that way then there may be an issue with the antenna for the keyless remote system in the vehicle.
@@PYR-Auto unfortunately the second fob does nothing. It lights up when I use it but I suppose it's from a different car or it got unpaired (this is how I received them). However, the one that had no range magically fixed itself (now it also has moments when it does nothing but after a few tries it works eventually.. from more than 30 meters)
My S80 had great distance. But it was not a keyless start. My xc60 is a keyless start, and I have to be very close to open or lock. Maybe because it's the keyless ignition?
The plastic separator does nothing. The plus side of both batteries sit against each other and the metal rim connector touches both batteries. Volvo in their immense wisdom did not cast the battery polarity in the plastic so you have to waste time watching videos to find out which way the batteries go in.
Got a battery low warning on my way home, launched TH-cam, found your video, ordered batteries. Very simple and straightforward, thanks for the help!
You're Welcome! Glad it helped
Same here...thanks for the video.

Thank you for the concise method, lots of TH-cam producers drags it on and on and on. Will explore your other videos.
Very helpful! When I opened the fob and an extra battery fell out I had no idea what was going on. Now I understand.
Glad it helped
Great video, especially for a 63 yr old with zero mechanical ability. Thanks for making it so easy!

Many thanks. Quick and easy, I never would have done it without your video.
Thank you. By the way, CR 2430 batteries are less common than I'd thought. So better buy them online and keep a stock at home.
You're Welcome! Yeah, out of all the fob batteries that is one of the least common
Thank you! Concise and specific instructions, after watching the battery replacement is trivial.
You're Welcome!
Very nice video - now I have what I need. Only Volvo would place batteries + to + with an insulator in between!
You my man just saved my life, thank you
You’re Welcome! Glad it helped
I'm going to add to your already numerous comments of gratitude... Thank u for the vid...
You're Welcome!
Thanks for good video with plenty of details. This works on key for 2016 Volvo too.
You're Welcome! Good To know!
Thank you, got it open. My key fob only has one 2430 battery, no piece of plastic.
same. not sure it will be an issue.
Same.
Thanks for posting this XC60-specific vid.
I have to do this so rarely. This is the perfect how-to.
YT University at its best.
You're welcome!
It isn't XC-60 specific, even though it states XC60.

no - these will need to be programmed by an automotive locksmith or dealership
Thank you❤
You're Welcome!
Thank you!! My 2012 S60 only had one battery tho. I wonder why?
You're Welcome! not sure on that
Thanks for the video:) after i replace the batteries keyless start function stopped working. How can solve this problem?

Can I use lithium batteries in this? I’m afraid of them touching and catching fire since there are two batteries…
Yes you can
This is great! Will this 2430 fit my 2018 Volvo S60? Thank you very much.
Will it reset?
and need to reprogrammed ?
No

My battery is constantly dying after replacement. What’s going on?
unfortunately some fob just seem to do that and may eventually need to be replaced
