Thank you very much. The only thing I have learned is to never go there. This place is very narrow and dangerous (it has been blacklisted). Drivers should not go there until the management of the place expands or finds a solution.
A place like this needs a yard dog to do all the work, either an employee or an outside contractor. Everyone drops their trailer and parks their rig up against the building in between alternate docks.
I'll tell you a little story, since you have to take turns they gave me a dock number, I was nervous since the beginning because I know the place, so I arrived to my assigned dock and look to my possibilities, I started to do the maneuver going forward, going back, going forward then going back again till I give up, I just reach he exit and get in line again so when the guy who was asigning Docks saw me, he was like!! what happened? I just told him, dude I couldn't Park give me another one I'll take my turn again 🤣 and he was like okay.
Ya know, I've been watching your videos because I'm a month into it and can't back up to save my life, but I wonder if there are folks out there who have and use drones to help back up with a birdseye view like this. I could see that being very helpful.
yep RL Jpnes, I was just there and it was a nightmare, people were coming in from both sides of the warehouse and that small lot area on the top right side.
It’s actually crazy how many places are actually setup like this. Edit: would love to get a chance to play this on my pc even if it’s available. I know iOS is gonna take some time still.
I sent you this scenario, the main problem is that when you arrive you take turns, so they give you the available dock when someone is leaving. It's not that you can just arrive and take the dock you want lol.
I was just here, but with a flatbed, they load the flatbeds on the East side of building, so it was easy for me to get loaded and out, but I walked around to the van side and holy shit, it was so unorganized. people wer yelling, screaming, honking horns, coming in from all different sides. As a new driver and a flatbedder, theres no way I could have gotten docked in the van side.
@@BrownHawk84 Yeah that's why now alot of places now make u drop trailes... I think smart on the shipper part... but some of the drivers are lazy assfuxk and fat asses.. they get all mad cause they have to get there fat asses out the truck and back in LOL
MANNNNN that WAS a tight fit wan't it lol. I really enjoy your videos and fully intend to see watch ALL of them. I'm on FB as well so I'll look you up. I'm really learning alot from your videos. I just finished a transport training school I attended but I failed my road test last week :( My backup skills are terrible and I'm having a ton of trouble. I need more training time so I will have to pay for a training day one on one with one of the schools instructors. It's going to cost about $600/day but there is no other way I can get wheel time otherwise. If there are any other tips or anything you feel that may help me, I'm all ears. I will need all the help I can get before my next road test. Your explanations are first rate, and actually enjoy watching them. And NO, this video was not boring in the least. I hope to get my AZ license soon, and get with a company that does long haul. I currently live in Ottawa Ontario Canada, and My goal is to travel to the states. I'm 58 yrs old and I'm eager to become a professional driver. Keep these great videos going too ok ? Mike
@@MyTruckingSkills - ironically ... 🙄 backing up. If I can’t learn to do a 90 degree backup.... I cannot pass my road test... no road test no license. I’m having trouble recognizing what the trailer is actually doing, which way to turn and when, and just generally interpreting what the trailer is doing in relation to the angle of the tractor and how much room that I have and can do. That’s why I’m trying to do anything I can to get any kind of experience or knowledge in helping me learn this. Many people will say “shoot, anybody can learn to back up anybody can do it it’s super easy“. Well, I’m not just anybody. I am really having a hard time getting this concept. Some people might even go so far as to say “damn this guy is really dumb if he can’t learn to back up a 48’ trailer” 😔
My suggestion is, spend as much time as you possibly can playing level 6 on normal campaign mode. You brain will automatically get used to the way the trailer needs to be controlled. Trust me
Once your in a spot, how the hell you pull out if there are a bunch of trucks across from you? I mean, Idk how you would even get into a spot if there a row of trucks across your spot haha

The CHAOS reminds me of rush hour at FEDEX in Santa Fe Springs, CA.
Definitely a par 5 lol ,Thanx David your tip s have been helping me with an ally dock that I have 🇨🇦
🤣🤣🤣 indeed!!
Looks like the makita warehouse in long Beach, is several different warehouses in the same building

Would be better if drivers dropped their trailers
My thought exactly. There'd need to be bobtail parking available, though.

All it would take is one or two guys that wisely choose to protect their investment and soon everyone is doing it like an unwritten policy
Then they would have to hire a yard dog to do that and it would cost them money. They want us to do it for free.
Looks like Otay Mesa. Cardinal in LA is the worst during its busy times.
This was excellent
Kid you not, I’m at a place exactly like this rn. Drivers are fighting over doors. I’ve seen 3 free birds already haha.
When do you show a backing with the tandem fully extended.

If the controls are hard, just get used to them. Keep backing up and controlling the trailer.

I wouldn't be able to deal with a place like this, I know I am new to trucking an all(on first week) but he'll to the naw on this lot

Do to the stack of trucks and trailers. Correct or not.
