The Golden Horseshoe (Greater Toronto) has 9.8 million people. To put that in perspective the entire Australian states of NSW 8.2 million, and Victoria 6.7 million have less people. Toronto has much more going on than Vancouver, in terms of universities, sports, theatre, museums, nightlife, shopping, and live music events. Toronto is the money center of Canada, so it has much higher incomes, and job opportunities than Vancouver. On the other hand, Vancouver has one of the greatest natural settings of any city in the world, and more outdoor activities. If you're a big city type person then its Toronto for you, if you like outdoor activities more, than its Vancouver. I totally agreed with your assessment of both cities, very accurate.
@@gracedagostino5231 Man, i frigging hate people like you always acting like youtube isome kind of spelling bee. Just let me spell how ever i want. Jeez!
First off, congratulations to you and Elliott on three years together! Having grown up an hour from Toronto, but having visited my brother several times when he lived in Vancouver back in the 90's, I'd say that I completely agree with Elliott's assessment of the two cities. Toronto being a megalopolis has a highly competitive, rat race feel to it, whereas Vancouver has that infamous west coast, laid back vibe. Also, as you said Sasha, a person's preference for what environment they prefer will depend largely on the stage of life they're in and what their priorities are at that stage. Anyways, interesting and informative comparison.
I will say this, as someone who grew up in Toronto, and now in British Columbia for the last 11 years,(Vancouver,Kelowna, and currently Victoria). Toronto has everything you want and need. But there is so much competition in my industry(culinary) it’s not hard to find a job. It’s just hard to find a job that pays well. Vancouver on the other hand, almost every major hotel or brand. Other then fast food/franchises pays well over 25$. Closer to 30$hr. So yes Toronto has more options and better transit overall. Vancouver offers a higher wage. But also higher cost of living.
this was such a great video with so much information! as some one who has always wanted to visit canada it’s hard to determine which places to visit specifically because of how huge it is! hoping to visit someday soon :) loved this video idea 💗💫🌻
Hotels are overpriced in both cities .Summers are way hotter in Toronto and yeah there seems to be more job opportunities in Toronto. Toronto downtown is bigger than Vancouver and both cities have skid rows .
Skid row in Toronto? There are definitely lower income areas in Toronto, but those "sketchy" areas are comparable to Chinatown or Gastown in Vancouver. There is nothing even remotely similar to East Hastings anywhere else in Canada; that is what one would call a true "skid row". Nothing like that in Toronto. In general, crime rates in Western Canadian cities are higher than Eastern.
@@julieerin115 You completely minimalize and underestimate the poverty in downtown Vancouver. Just a heads up, there is absolutely nothing in Canada anything like it. It's a shame but you are not alone; most people in Vancouver try to sweep it under the carpet.
I'm pharmacist living in italy I hate here cause wages are so low and life ain't cheap I wanna move and get my license and get registered somewhere else somewhere with better salary and cheaper housing and better quietly of life Which one is really better option Australia(Melbourne )or Canada (Toronto)?
In order to live in Vancouver u need to make lots of money it’s really expensive to buy a house in Vancouver and Toronto. I would rather go to a province that has less people personally. Toronto has housing bidding wars
@@SashSays Montreal is a good place to live the houses aren’t that expensive. Even better you can buy a 4 plex and live for free in one of the apartments and have your tenants pay your mortgage through rent. Lots of people do this in Montreal. And when people say you need to know French yes people should learn some French to at least communicate a little.
You'd be surprised how expensive Vancouver is for seemingly everything. Gas is something like $1.88 in Vancouver vs $1.46/ litre in Toronto. In my experience food/drinks are more expensive in Vancouver, especially restaurants/bars. Both cities are expensive to buy or to rent, of course.
Yeah, I hate how Vancouver clogs up their sidewalks with those trees! And don't get me started on those intimidating mountains---they should tear them down a little because they scare me! Also, they should remove some of that greenery because a bear or cougar could just jump out and attack somebody! Nature is just sooo boooring---gimme some concrete! Meanwhile with Toronto, I just love that urinal stench at the corner of King and Younge---gives me nostalgia! Also love how the subway seating is made out of upholstery, so that all sorts of treasures can be soaked up. Other perks include tired 1960s/70s architecture, businesses with gaudy marquees and lights that give me Vegas vibes, horn music, blue salt covering the sidewalks even when it's above five degrees, supermarkets that are miles apart (food is overrated)...
I’m not sure!! Toronto is more fast paced city and Vancouver you could do more nature photography? Both artsy in different ways. More $$$ and opportunities in Toronto i’d say but depends on what lifestyle you are after
There is a lot of nature around Toronto if you aren't just hanging out on Queen St lol. People go to Queen West and Union Station area and decide that tiny area represents all of Toronto
It's basically the same s---t ! Drug addicts everywhere and depressing environment in both cities. Living in Toronto is like being in an emergency room 247 loud sirens make your life a living hell. The best is to get out of Canada.
Probably the most explanatory video I've ever watched, it will help me to decide
Thanks so much 🥹🩷

happy three years!! love watching your city comparison videos so much:)))
You are so sweet, thanks!!!! 😘
Lived both in Vancouver and Toronto, Toronto is much safer.
Vancouver downtown east side is probably the worst part I've ever seen in North America.
It’s really rough 😞😞 LA has worse but Vancouver is a close second
Thanks for the perspective😊

Hey! I’m so sorry but I haven’t been there long enough to give proper recommendations! Was there like 4 days in 2018 sorry 😬❤️
Has this guy event taken the go train. You can go really far out of Toronto. Or have you taken the via. The GO covers a lot of southern Ontario
