The 2003 reprofiling of 130R basically changed it from an actual corner to a typical Tilke kink.

Usually the greatest overtakes are done at that corner and it requires precision
Very unfair indeed. There’s no way you can make the old 130R safe enough by modern standards. Heck, even the current 130R has seen some massive crashes this past year.
I love that the G meter shows that the nascar cup car had already crashed before it had even reached 130R
It gets affected by the tire slip when they hit the sand, not sure why
The stock car&touring car pilots deserve tons of respect for being able to handle those metal boxes

Hypercar and gt500 are very similar, a lap time comparision on le mans would be cool
Also a comparison between gt3 and gt2 on le mans would be good

I think GT2 and GT3 at Le mans would be even lap time wise. Gt2 is way faster in the straights.
The Hypercar is way faster on the straights and highspeed corners. The GT500 is faster on the brakes, slow- and mid speed stuff. Overall the GT500 are bit faster. Just tenths though
GT500 was faster than the non-hybrid LMP1s so they are on Hypercar level
@kai325d3 No it wasn't. The Non Hybrid LMP1 is still multiple seconds a lap faster then a Hypercars or the GT500. A Rebellion, Ginetta or SMP had 70-100hp more then a GT 500, were over 150kg lighter and had more downforce.
@@kai325d3in Fuji, the GT500 were like 10 seconds slower than LMP1s
I really appreciate these types of videos because it shows the difference in how these different types of cars can take high speed turns but also displays how fast each car is going before the turn.........I think doing something similar at the kink at Road America would be good as well

Kinda disappointed that Xfinity and Trucks weren’t in the video but it was super cool to see SRX!
The cup car they show is probably a solid benchmark for estimation. Pretty much any Nascar sanctioned series is gonna do roughly that. I imagine the trucks would probably fair the worst due to the inherently mid (at best) aero of a truck. And that’s assuming the driver is half decent and doesn’t turn too fast for the tires and holds some semblance of traction all the way through.

i think a video of 3 cars from as many series, with as many cars as you can possibly do on a track that is kind of an even playing field between top speed and cornering would be a fun watch, make it an endurance race as well to show the differences in tire wear and fuel consumption of the various cars, classes and series

Why is it called 130r
The original version of the corner was 130 degree radius but it’s not that tight anymore since the Allen mcnish crash in 2002

I'm not sure what the reason for the name is but I feel the need to clarify that radius is the distance from the center of the curve, so it can be measured in meters, feet or other units of distance; meanwhile degrees measure angles of curvature
130 meter radius, not degrees
Because is taken at 130 km/h

Can you do comparison between current Sports Prototype series with these cars :
1) Le Mans Hypercar
2) LMDh (although they race in the same category in WEC and IMSA, their technical regulations are different)
3) LMP2
4) LMP3
5) FIA Group CN
6) Group CM
7) Sports 2000
8) SCCA Clubman
9) Spec Ford
Why is everybody still getting Hypercar Powernumbers wrong.... they do have 500-520kW so 680-707hp. Yes. BUT: that's Wheel Power. For every other car the power claim is power at the Clutch. So either put down the roughly 800hp a hypercars actually has, or reduce the claims of the other cars by gearbox losses.

@THEWINDTUNNEL For one. In the regulations. They are publicly available. Also racecar engineering. Or any credible publication on the matter. For the LMDh/GTP cars they even made the gearbox losses public, 15%, so we do know precisely how much engine power they have. The Acura is the most powerful in 2024, with 520kw at the wheels, thats 611,8kW/832,1hp at the Clutch .
@THEWINDTUNNEL as you can see by the citation from the ACO/FIA/IMSA LMH Regulation Appendix 5.1.2 power is measured at the wheels. That means excluding gearbox losses. The BoP uses wheel power. Ergo engine power is 15% higher then the BoP Power stated for each car.

The Rally1 got there relatively slow. The touring cars (both FWD) had some oversteer which helped a lot

Indycar's top speed is wrong again. You seem to be giving the series top speed for every other series and super specific with Indycar by giving the top speed for the road course package. Either you should be more specific with the other series, or be more general with the Indycar.

This is the 130R 2003- currently. The real 130R was until 2002.

Fun fact i have gone through el rouge radion complex in a nascar stock car flatout just to prove its possible some people didn't count it because my line was super compromised and would tick off F1 officials but i didn't care as i came close to the inside of radions wall missing it by near inches at 7500 rpm 3rd gear XD

A little bit of drift for the TCR, and how a GT3 car can take better 130R than a GT2 car?
A GT2 isn't faster than a GT3 (the names are extremely confusing, I konw) they have more power but a lot less aero. They also have more aggressive driving aids as they were designed for amateur drivers.
Maybe 100R on fuji next?

Если в замедленном посмотреть, видно, что автор сильно раньше начинает поворачивать, чем нужно, более того, зачем-то в повороте начинает бросать руль на апексе. В некоторых случаях можно было бы избежать вылета (правда, не в случае Nascar, там ничего не поможет).

He's using the road course version, only the oval setups do 200+MPH, different design for different circuit types

@THEWINDTUNNEL Therefore you should adjust the F1 and F2 top speeds. Because F1 don't do 360km/h even at Monza these days - more in the 330 km/h region at best. And an Indy Car at Monza would be more than 320km/h.
