    Are you able to automate the pausing and resuming of the Fabric Capacity?

      I don’t think this is available just yet but expect there to ultimately be some API you can call to help with this similar to the pausing of a dedicated SQL pool in Synapse.

    Has Something changed about the pro license usage on non-power bi fabric item creation? The official fabric licensing page shows for the creation of no-power bi fabric items you need pro even if it's backed by a capacity!

    A couple of questions:
    1 Can a Fabric Admin enable access for individual users for specific Capacities and Workspaces ?
    2 Is a user who isn’t an admin able to pause and restart a Capacity ?

      Hey @davebennett7550 let me provides some information:
      1 - Yes, as mentioned you can control who can create fabric items at either the tenant level or at a capacity level. As with most features in the tenant settings you can specify users/groups that this will be enabled for or exclued specific users/groups
      2 - For the fabric capacities, because this is managed in the Azure Portal there are various roles that can be assigned which would allow the ability to pause the capacity. Technically the ability to pause this capacity doesnt relate to power bi access at all. So you can have somone manage your fabric capacity who has never even logged into the power bi portal.

    I am having PBI premium capacity (P2) and have not enabled preview features .So currently i am not availing fabric to users(even trial).But in next month on wards does it make automatically Fabric enabled if admin does not change any setting in the portal?
    Second thing is that you mentioned that in premium you can leverage fabric with no extra costs. Is that mean with the amount that i am paying for premium capacity, i can work with all fabric personas? If so, this new pricing mechanism(pay as you go) not applicable for premium capacities?

    Great video, thanks for sharing. I may have a few question for Pay-as-you-go approach.
    Let's say an Admin creates the Fabric Capacity, and selects the tier, I get billed based on that tier and storage, but kind of confused with the users part.
    1. Which license and/or Azure permission do developers need to create artifacts in the Workspace?
    2. If I deploy reports to this workspace, what license should users have to use these reports?
    3. If I have my LakeHouse in this workspace, can I have reports deployed to non-fabric workspace and will regular Pro-License users be able to consume the reports?

    I believe this was prior to PPU integration or am I mistaken? If it was prior, are there any plans to update this?
    Thanks so much for providing it. I've viewed so many (and read docs) in order to get my arms around this. While all were good, yours may have been the clearest, simplest explanation I've heard. Really appreciate it.

      Chris’ What do you mean by ppu integration ?

    What is exactly a reserved capacity ?

    • @austinlibal
      @austinlibal 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A reserved capacity is an annual commitment to a specific Fabric SKU in exchange for a discount of about 40% on the cost of the license for the duration of the contract.

    In short, how much it will cost?

    • @austinlibal
      @austinlibal หลายเดือนก่อน

      Anywhere from $300 - $270,000 a month.
      It really depends on the organization, how much they're processing, what they're doing, etc.
