I’m not going to lie, I always thought vlogging was for narcissists that wanted attention but the vlogs I watch nowadays are really people that are just capturing moments, whether they upload them or not, and that is so beautiful
Yes I felt the same, I felt so self obssessed when filming myself but and sure there is a glimpse of it, but when telling your story it is so much more in reality, peopel actually care about reading and looking at other peoples lives, to get inspired, to learn and to give back!
I've been vlogging for over 5 years now but haven't posted in fear that people view my work as self-obsessed. I'm lucky to be surrounded by supportive ppl who know me and my passion that it's become second nature for me to have my camera out, not because I want attention to myself but rather I genuinely love capturing moments and romanticizing life. It's beautiful and inspiring to see so many creators do the same, I'm looking forward to the day I can share my life and work too:)
Being a father of 2 kids and having a full time job, I’m still struggling finding my balance. I’m just glad I finally started, it was me literally telling myself years that I want to start. I’m getting the hang of it, but I did tell myself when I get to 1000 subscribers I plan to buy my first Sony camera as a gift.
I’ve been vlogging since I was 12 or 13, I’m going on 20 now and I’ve never uploaded them anywhere, but there’s something so beautiful about being able to look back on all the memories whenever. I haven’t done any cinematic shots or used a good camera for videos yet, but that’s the plan in the future
This is great! I'm so sick of hearing people say you HAVE TO stick to a niche, have some sort of script, teach the audence something, etc... Some of us just enjoy vlogging our lives and using the process as a creative outlet. These were such amazing tips, I needed this boost of inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing! Subscribed :)
You have to just start! Stop looking for perfection and just start .. you get better as the time goes on but if you are waiting to overcome it you will never start babe! Turn the camera on and create something 🩷 you got this
Restarting my TH-cam journey from 1st Jan 2025. Will come back here on December 31, 2025 to see how much I have grown because your tips are really good.
I know what you mean fr. Selecting music can super stressful. If you have the budget I suggest using a platform like Artlist, Storyblocks, Epidemic Sound or musicbed for music. I’ve used storyblocks before and currently I’m using epidemic sound.
yeh you actually inspired myself and my now wife to start again. We were following channels that inspired us back in 2016, until things happened and we stopped. I have been posting weekly consistently since we started doing this again and honestly, it's been great! Now we even have more of a reason to start doing this to capture moments in our life that we can re-watch later on. I agree, continue to improve each vlog, I finally upgraded my gear (I was using a GoPro Hero 4 silver previously! to another action cam because it's just easy (DJI Action 5). I'm ahead in content by about 6 weeks and finding time to edit is the most challenging part!. Keen to see where we will be many months from now!
Thanks for this. I just started vlogging, and although I already have 6k subscribers because I used to do tutorial videos, there is so much I need to learn. Keep creating bro, it's inspiring.
I just restarted posting my vlogs & this was very helpful! I did find myself sticking to the chronological order of the day but I like the idea of creating “scenes”!
Loved these ideas, especially when you said to talk about how you feel! That's something I think I forget easily and my videos end up just showing what I did that day. Your establishing shots and color grading are so well done, thanks for the tips!
Great video man. Love how you break down your workflow. Going to be checking out more of your content. PS TH-cam recommended this video to me in my "Trends" section of the Creator Studio for "Daily Life Vlogs". Glad it did.
Currently bracing myself for going on a vlogging rampage very soon. I think in a month or two, I'll be vlogging every day because I know that'll improve my story telling, public speaking and hopefully kicking my self-doubts ass! This is a great Vid! Thanks :)
I just started vlogging my life too. I was confused on how to share my life and what to add to a space that already has so many great voices. Thanks for the advice!
I appreciate your content and always love how your shots come out! I recently started vlogging consistently and I’m looking forward to the journey of creating ☺️
This was very helpful!! Even just seeing how you splice b roll into your own edit here to tell the story / bring emotion. I was just figuring out how I was going to do that myself in my next video, so appreciate your insights here! Thank you.
Love this!! One of my goals in 2025 for my channel is to start making smaller vlogs along with my bigger videos so this came across my timeline at the perfect time 👏🏼
Dude, this was great ! The way you described you being the string that connects all of the things in your videos is how I’ve been thinking about it for a long time and I’ve only heard a few people describe it that way it’s good to know I’m not the only one.
Dude you randomly showed up on my feed... I like your content and style. Good stuff and this video was actually helpful and, dare I say, inspiring to me. Kudos, sir! I've subscribed and looking forward to more videos.
Wonderful advice! I love the part about sharing how you feel and not just what you're doing. Gotta lean into that more myself! Thanks for sharing and best of luck in Uni and w your Vlog.
I just started Vlogging recently and I'm still so scared about everything. I love documenting my life and all the moments with all the people I love but certain times I wonder whether I'm doing a good job or not. I'm just so scared and I don't even know what I'm scared of. Could it be the fear of the unknown?
I honestly enjoy watching your videos (content), it helps to get that encouragement. Now I just need to take that first step, keep bringing great content. Peace and blessings ✊🏿.
I’ve watched a few vids now and like the good honest info you give. I want to start a vlog but feel like my life is too boring. Plus I’m at just over 2k subs and my audience might not prefer it
Really appreciate the information and food for thoughts bro! I've been putting out content but trying to get better and more confident with every video, thanks for the knowledge & inspirational contents!
If it’s happening too quick I’ll just use whatever I have in my hand, I try and plan ahead and slap on the right lens before leaving the house but I also will change my lenses in the go if needed
Does the ulanzi tripod hold your setup with the 17-70 mounted? Ive been wanting to use mini tripods but the balance issue is too big and I can't find one that will support the weight of the 17-70
Hi! I just wanted to ask how do you make subtitles for your vlogs? as a small vlogger, I wanted to learn how to upgrade my videos and reach more audiences. 😊 thank you!

I'm glad you've found some vloggers to watch and feel this way about their content.

Congratulations! The first step is the most important one
Congratulations 🎊 on the journey and have fun i have found the balance by also getting the kids to join and help. They always have great ideas too.

I so agree! Some of us just wanna document little slices of life 😊
Self-doubt is one of the biggest enemies. I just need to learn how to overcome it!!!!

started my journey recently and i love bringing my camera everywhere. it is very enjoyable and inspires me to get out my comfort zone!
You got this, keep at it!
One things stresses me out in making videos is the music. The copyright is just stressful.
Totally agree with you!
I know what you mean fr. Selecting music can super stressful. If you have the budget I suggest using a platform like Artlist, Storyblocks, Epidemic Sound or musicbed for music. I’ve used storyblocks before and currently I’m using epidemic sound.
Me too! I just bit the bullet and went with epidemic sound for peace of mind
youtube has great free library!
I love the perspective of using vlogging as a journal! Thanks for saying that!!! And the A and B roll clips are so important.

Great video bro keep it coming
have you had any issues with the 17-70 interfering with the ibis of the a6700
I’ve never noticed anything from the year of shooting with both
how does ur audio sound so crisp? is it post production or the mic ur using?
If you thing about it a vlog is just a virtual journal entry
wow thanks a lot, do you used mist filter?
no mist filter, i use dehancer to soften the image
