This whole argument that due to allegiance to deoband ( India ) , Taliban would naturally be allies of India is not sound. Whether or not Deoband or any other Islamist group itself has its primary allegiances towards Indian national interest itself is doubtful.
Wishful thinking should not inform real politik policies.
Taliban or any other group can be transactional partners in their own selfish interest for limited ends, which is ok.
But expecting any alliance due to Ideological sympathies is foolish.
