The two logic chip that does your display is the 74xx47 and the 74xx247 BCD-to-Seven-Seg Decoders/Driver. The 74xx247 have the same pin assignment as the 74xx47 but the 6 and 9 have your tails for those digit as you have demonstrated {The Top for 6 -'A' segment and Bottom for 9 - 'D' segment} . Both of those chips have the hex equivalent 10 through 15- "Display patterns for BCD input counts above 9 are unique symbols to authenticate input conditions.".
I always salute you sir what a beautiful teaching style so that a weak student like me is also understand in very simple way thank you so much for giving a quality educational videos Thanks Always
You just described how to drive a common cathod 7-segments. By reading the comments, I think that would be useful also to describe how can be driven if it's a common anode 7 segments.
so if i wanna display hexadecimal alphabets ranging from A - F, is it true that I'll need another group or set of 4-bit BCD to accommodate the number 10 - 15 ?
Thanks for the crystal clear explanation. I have a question, like the display of 9 numbers is the exact explanation of the problem or you have just taken it as an example, like in case of truth table.
please upload videos on : Read-only memory, read/write memory - SRAM and DRAM, PLAs and their applications, Sequential PLDs and their applications, Introduction to field programmable gate arrays, PALs and their applications Converters : Analog to Digital Converter, Digital to Analog Converter
Sir for making such led blinking ,we need coding like arduino.. So my request is that pls start (channel) of teaching arduino(how to use and how to do programming for different works..) with is helpful for us I hope a positive response from u
What will happens when we give binary input greater than 9 . something happen to these lights for sure, but how that happens, can u please tell us.. Thank you
Please clarify this : If decoder is opposite of encoder then the decoder must have only one output line as high at a time. If a decoder is designed this way is it even legit to call it a decoder??. Here , If the bcd (4bit) can be mapped to any representation then wont that violate the rules of encoder and decoder ?
I wish I'd seen this before losing 50% on my 7 seg decoder assignment. I wasted all my time reading through textbooks and tutorials not understanding a thing when I could've just watched a 6 minute video.
didn't get this from one month of head cracking... my teacher is a God... finally I found a Human... thanks a lot
There's no god except allah (the god)

@@ahmedmoneimm you're right brother ❤️
No he isn't. A mere human can never be a God. Even if you mean metaphorically
@@ahmedmoneimm nice joke 🤣
Even foreigners are supporting u. Thats the power of india . Love isro love neso

Long live Neso Academy!
Brilliant series of lectures in digital electronics. Well done! I would love to see your rendition on digital filters and DSP
Oo
Our professor gave same question in our final online exam and i am solving tgat question by watching this video. Thanks alot sir....

Pretty good and straightforward description. Helped me get ready for my ECE lab!
U deserve an ward for this, I had try to figure this out since but I couldn't. Even my lecturer do not explained to my understanding. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
thank you so much . you saved me , i have an exam tomorrow
Wonderful explaination sir tq

Man you saved me ... nicely explained .Love from Bangladesh
Very good explanation.....even better then my government teacher ........
Wonderful explanation , thank you sir

Sir in your videos please explain common cathode and anode type and add or create new video for that with electrical schematic diagram for them

from Geneva, i say thank you
how come my shitty professors do not teach me the way this guy is teaching me!! this guy is a prophet for real!!
ugh, agreed. Suddenly we have exam tomorrow. This guy is a godsend
Tank you for explanation.
For BCD 1 instead of BC can we write FE also .
sir u r doing a great job. ur tone is very nice keep it up.

Thank you for this video but can you do seven segment Hexadecimal display decoder ?
Thanku sir. Tomorrow my exam.
Sir please can u make a video on water level system using seven segment diaplay
It would help us a lot
Sir I am your FAN...
Sir please do make videos based on VHDL Concepts...it will help us ..and thanks for your excellent presentation 👏 👍 😀 👌 🙌 🙂
You can also represent 11 using 7 segment display.
I am requesting the neso academy team to put more videos on network theory

If I change the b3 b2 b1 b0 into A B C D does it still the same?
excellent lesson thank you

Very very very very Thanks Sir 😀
Sir, but there are no videos about introduction to decoders and details about decoders, types of decoders,.... in the playlist. Please upload
How to make the decimal point high or low?
Great job sir thanks
Why are we taking bo b1 b2 b3 ? Can u please explain it ?
Nice explanation i loved it
Thanks Neso Academy!!!!!!!
Thank you so much 💖
Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤❤❤❤
Best video and content. good luck.
In this video how ur naming the alphabets on wht basis how ur taking as that high

Superb bro 😁🙌
What is common cathode and common anode type
Sir , You upload the video related to decoder but you didn't explain encoders and decoders??
Hello do you have also a guide for "two-seven segment display"? that dislpays numbers from 0 to 16?
any link
SAME AS ABOVE BUT U NEED TWO BCD TO SEVEN SEGMENT DISPLAYS MEANS THEN INPUTS HAVE 5 BITS AND OUTPUTS ARE TOTAL 14 THEY DIVIDE TWO SEVEN SEGMENTS
brother i want to make a teacher presence indicator using decoder . please give me some idea to make it...?
how can we understand the 7 segment display is anode or cathode by looking at the truth table? Does anyone know?
Use a multimeter.
truly very very helpful...
thx u so much! Made it so easy for me to understand.
Frnds, Is g= B3 + B2(-B1) + B1(-B0) + (-B3)(-B2)B1 ? where -ve signs shows complement.
Much appreciate it friend.
very useful course
Is it for common annode right?
Thanks for this content
But when we did this experiment, seg a was low when 6 was displayed.
Thank you.
why i am taking bo,b1, b2,b3? please explain the issue
Hy:
I have a question can u tell me this example is common anode or common cathode?
Cathode
wouldnt you be able to display 11 also?
like if i kept b c f and e at high , it should display 11 right?
ye absolutely :P you could also display a small "o" with "c d e g" illuminated. Unfortunately, both are useless in most cases.
this is common cathode right ?
last minute savior......i loved it
I thank you
Awesome video
Cant a 7 segment display also display A-F?
they could
Sir can you provide this video in Hindi
thank you so much
can u please provide some videos on logic families and D-A converters thank u ur videos helped me out a lot
Good concept
Thanks you!
