we also have 10:4 encoders that dosen't satisfy your n=2^m formula/relation..
10:4 encoders are different. They are called "priority encoders" and use the extra two lines for different things. They actually have 9 inputs and 4 outputs, not 10, and they are designed to deal with different things. They're called 10:4 because they have an implied decimal zero when all inputs are high. They also don't follow the normal rules of encoders as only the "top" low matters. Their function works very differently from normal encoders. If none of that makes any sense to you, just know that priority encoders are outside of the scope of this explanation.

it is not 100% correct. the output of the encoder depends on the state of all inputs.

DLD, DBMS, OS three courses saved
1. Five invigilators from ECE, EEE, CSE, IT and Civil departments must go for an invigilation. But due to the friendship and enmity between the departments, the following conditions are to be satisfied for the exam section to send them for invigilation. They are
a) Either faculty from ECE or EEE or both must go.
b) Either faculty from CSE or Civil but not both must go.
c) Either both ECE and CSE faculty must go or neither goes.
d) If IT faculty goes, then faculty from Civil must also go.
e) If ECE faculty goes, then EEE and CSE faculty must also go.
Determine the expression which specifies the combination of faculty who can go for the invigilation.
2. A digital locker has 5-digit password 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5; and all the 5 digits must be entered to open the locker. The digits of the password are with 5 people in the following manner.
i) Mr. A knows 1st and 3rd digits.
ii) Mr. B knows 1st and 4th digits.
iii) Mr. C knows 2nd and 4th digits.
iv) Mr. D knows 3rd and 5th digits.
v) Mr. E knows 1st and 5th digits of the password.
Find the minimum number of people required to open the locker. Find all the combination of persons to open the safe as a Boolean equation. Also find who is the most essential person.
3. A lawn sprinkler system is controlled by some combinations of following variables.
Season (S = 1, if summer; 0, otherwise)
Moisture content in the soil (M = 1, if high; 0, if low)
Temperature (T = 1, if high; 0. if low)
Humidity (H = 1, if high; 0, if low)
The sprinkler is turned ON in the following situations.
a) The moisture content is low in winter.
b) The temperature is high, and the moisture content is low in summer.
c) The temperature is high, and the humidity is high in summer.
d) The temperature is low, and the moisture is low is summer.

Using K-map find the logic expression and implement it using NAND logic. Design a combinational logic circuit using

Hi my friend! I like your videos and like a mention in this video you have a mistake at decoder because that decoder have 8 outputs indexed from 0 to 7 but you have started from 1 to 7 so you don't have 8 outputs :)

Would you please clear my confusion(on 2:17) about the values that how on single input i 0 or i1 or i2 is 2 bits..mean 00,01etc as it is a single input each.
May be its too easy but i cant grasp it.
When i0 is high encoder will send 00, when i1 is high encoder will send 01 and so on.

I think he is using MS paint or other equivalent but with a pen tablet like wacom etc

In the example , the output of 8x3 encoder is probably O0, O1 and O2 instead of O1, O2 and O3.
What about on output encoder? It should be O0 , O1 , O2, or he is correct there?
