they originate from XII century, arguably the fastest dogs in europe in XVI-XVII century. Almost gone extinct during communism in Poland. Great for hunting and family, quite unique dogs, although when they see a rabbit sized animal they are gone with the wind, literally
Wonderful pics and video! I have never heard of this breed- and I'm Polish! If I had one of these I would name it Pierogi 😉....It would make an interesting video to compare all the different greyhound types. I owned a whippet cross, he just passed away in March, but what a sweet dog! ♡

@@Rocadog thank you...no I never knew there was anykind of Polish hound. I know there is an Irish Wolfhound- huge dogs- and Russian Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, but the only Polish dig I ever heard of was a Lowland Sheep dog or something similiar to that. I'm Polish/ Russian so I also perk up when I hear about dogs, cats, birds from those areas. Can you tell I adore animals?😉

LivLovely theres also Polish Hound, Polish Hunting Dog . Pomeranian and I believe the Kuvasz is also from Poland!

Yes. Rabbits, deer and so on
How fast are they pls
Very fast.. I dont know the exact speed, but their speed allowed them to keep up with men on horseback during the hunt
I'm assuming it's around the same as other greyhounds which is a top speed of 40 - 45 mph (or about 64 - 72 kph)
