      Objectively they are filtering light. Maybe he likes the feeling of the goggles on the face. What type of personal optical contraction is your personal favorite? Can be very broad.
      I btw I looked at your profile but could not find anything usefully, let alone a pic of a better face and glasses combination.
      Are you ok?
      I'm also not doing videos just like you but I try to be humble and acknowledge that others do have the skills and energy to for it. I'm fond of having conversations in the comments. Long texts. With nuances. When ai interferes with human discourse I speak up and point it out. Real life conversing is richer. Alas it takes extra effort now socials has quitely surrogated irl stuff. I'm might become more positive toward it when through the digital channels I can also we experience smell and body language and notice something is fishy or reeks of digested food left out on the open. Also a fart on the right moment and others totally are impossible here.
      I'm wearing reading glasses, the cheapest. They break just as easily as you Ray-Bans or what not.
      Hats of if you made it to the end with TikTok attention training.

      @@rawcado Please elaborate. I might also find some extra suggestions for your fruity name.
      I've taken notice of your suggestion and decided to put it in the 'someone stepped out of bed with the wrong leg'.
      Have a wonderful day and night. I know I will. I'll be sleeping in a brick house with my head softly on a nice pillow. No bedbugs either. Avocadoes have an expiration date you're aware of that right? I assume with your all might. You made me laugh so that's ok.
      Account active since april 2022 lol. I'd advocate for a more verbose, not fluff shallow interaction in these Fora. You are young so be welcome and have much to learn. Here used to be way more of a free haven of discourse and ideas and the videos. I guess you missed out on that golden era. It was sweet.👌

    One feature that would be very useful in Meshtastic is a mode like PSK Reporter in FT8, so people can tell how far away their nodes are being received. This would allow them to optimise nodes, antennas, repeaters etc and discontinue those that add little value. I am currently receiving loads of nodes (some over 100 miles away), but since I cannot reliable run a 'Trace Route' with many of them, I don't know how far away I am being received, Does anyone else agree?

    • @360turns2
      @360turns2 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agree!
      There is a Meshatstic module NeighbourInfo. But it is disabled by default. If it is enabled at remote node and your node is received by that node directly, your node will be added to NeighbourInfo list with SNR how they receive you.That list is the broadcasted every 15min and also pushed to mqtt (provided that is enabled) Then you will see your node on Liam Cote Meshatstic map. A bit like psk reporter.
      But as you see a few things need to be configured in order to achieve that... I thinks Devs need to make it enabled by default. (For some reason, they think its bandwidth hungry).
      Well, not more than Telemetry .
      That leaves us with Traceroute as only option to tell if we are received.
      In my experience if a direct node doesn't comeback with Traceroute, then they are not receiving you.

    Hi Andy! Love your enthusiastic videos about meshtastic and the custom music. My interest in the project has also gone up and down, but with the constant updates and customizeability I always get dragged back in. Especially with the new GUI update that is coming. I use it a bit differently, with an esp32 connected with 4G to relay national family mqtt communications into our cabin which lies really remote and outside cell coverage. Love from Norway

    while watching i had to think about 35 years ago when i did packet radio which in essence is the same as this. The speed back then was 1200bd or 2400bd if you had a better modem. Popular bands here where 27Mhz and 2m.

    Question for you or the commenters if I have a private channel between two nodes and move a node out so it is like two hops away, will the private channel still work and be passed between the hop nodes to reach my other node or is it just the public channel that will be passed over the mesh network? thanks in advance

    I think you hit the nail on the head with your comment that meshtastic, at the moment, is about the hobby and fun element! I like you am blown away that you can get a connection to a node in the Netherlands even if chances of a communication as such are slim at the moment! This brings back the excitement of the early days of CB in the 70/80’s. If it was too successful I think that would be more likely to kill it off! Like having guaranteed, predictable skip and no random connections to make your day!

    The discrepancy between the success of the beacon packets and the flakiness of the message packets is really frustrating.

    • @andykirby
      @andykirby  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As I say, it's important to understand how the different parts of the system works. Beacons are smaller packets of data and they get repeated over and over, they propagate over the mesh more effectively. Messaging requires more overhead so signal strength needs to be much much better to have it work successfully.
