  • The fourth episode of the Harlem Walking Tour Video Series features the American soprano, concert singer, and founder of the Harlem School of the Arts, Dorothy Maynor (1910-1996). Yolanda Wyns of Harlem School of the Arts leads the Dorothy Maynor Singers in a tribute to HSA’s founder.
    This project was conceived by husband and wife team, Terrance McKnight, WQXR and harpist-scholar Dr. Ashley Jackson. Subsequent episodes will be released throughout the season from January through June 2021. Future episodes will highlight past figures such as Duke Ellington and Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson with performances by violinist Ashley Horne, soprano Brandie Sutton, and performing artist Damien Sneed, among many others.
