Maybe because of the choices? Some choices were clearly not correct, so it was easier to guess. In the case of Europeans, the choices were of closely related countries. Yeah, Mongolian people are very specific, also everybody's sooo beautiful🤩🥰 We studied a lot about ancient Mongolia because my ancient Bulgarian ancestors are originally from there 💖
Very cool! I got almost all of them correct, and hadn't realized I understood the differences between say Uzbek and Cambodian, or Samoan and Tongan. I knew the difference between different types of Africans ans African Americans, different South Americans, andthe different peoples of the Middle East. The gorgeous arched eyebrows of Iranian women are always a dead give away. I live in Mexico, so recognized Mexicans right away. Serbians are also very distinctive, with long nosed, arched eyebrows. Where I tripped up was differentiating between say Finns, Hungarians, Lithuanians. Great quiz! Loved it!
Generally Hungarians and Baltic people+Finns got little if anything to do with each other genetically. Hungarians are either mixed with Slavs, Germans or in the case of some Székely people sometimes not at all and are somewhat Turkic looking. Finns generally look like other Scandinavians but some more Asiatic like Sami. But there's a huge variety in both countries and even as someone from Hungary i'm not entirely sure i would recognise someone from my country as Hungarian just from looks alone until i would hear them speak. I'm somewhat unusual looking for this place myself, don't think anyone would look at me and say i'm a typical Hungarian with my beard being red. My grandfather says theirs is an ancient Hungarian family but red hair can also denote Jewish or Saxon ancestry, both of which is a possibility here. The thing is, there's no sure way to tell where someone's from and one can only guess. Oh and from the pictures listed from European nations, i've seen most of these faces in Hungary-some more often than others. The first ones depicting Spanish looked very Hungarian to me f.ex. and i guessed Hungarian-the first and last woman especially or at least i've seen these faces quite a few times as well.

Very interesting quiz. I like this. I am an Asian and met mostly Asians. So I could make nearly 95% accurate for those ethnic peoples. This includes central Asians and Middle Easterns. I did pretty well for Africaners, Latin Americans, and Pacific Islanders, but I was least accurate with Europeans. I think I should travel to Europe and meet more Europeans. Ha ha..
I am a South Asian. When I was young, I felt that white people and Asian people ( east and southeast asians) all looked the same.. But with time, using the internet, etc., I learned that it is not like that, and that there are people of every race who have their own unique characteristics. Now I can randomly see a face and guess which region with satisfactory accuracy.
I am Vietnamese, Asian and I can easily identify people from any country along the Pacific region. The reason is probably that I watch a lot of movies, photos, communicate through social networks and travel bloggers. Although many people will be difficult to identify, AI technology has done well for the common denominator. To me, part Laotian, part Thai, a little Filipino and Indonesian, Malaysian will be similar to Vietnamese. 30% of Myanmar, Nepali, and Cambodian people will also be like Vietnamese people. Taiwanese and Chinese people are a lot like Vietnamese people...
Not as many right as i would have preferred, but still something around 65-75% or so. However, several of the choice setups were extremely problematic, like having Czech and Slovak for the same pics? That used to be the same nation for many decades? Not to mention having Austria with them as well, the nextdoor neighbor. Or Swedish and Norwegian, another place where it's essentially impossible to tell the difference. As long as the choices were not too mixed up, it was easy, but with lots of nations next to each others, it becomes pure guessing game.
No, because Judaism is not a race of people, it is a religion that people choose to practice. I was born as a black female, never to change the fact. Interesting observation. The reason AI averaged faces look attractive to us, is because averaging blurs out skin imperfections and makes the face highly symmetrical. We're programmed to recognize those things as signs of good genes, and thus attractive mates. Marketed beauty standards generally overemphasize certain desirable features, making them unrealistically thin, big or white. The Korean beauty standard is an example of wanting white skin and bigger eyes.

@Lucifer Abaddon It is complicated, but it is true that half or close to half have light skin, according to genetic studies the main ancestry is Iberian but it is usually mixed with Indigenous or African, the South of Brazil generally looks much whiter, like Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, many people are blonde or light-eyed, this is because there was a large migration of Germanic people during the 19th century that mixed with the population of Iberian and Italic ancestry that already lived there

For the people saying that europeans are harder to distinguish than asians. There are some reasons. While europeans have mixed a lot through the mileniums (thing that shows why europeans are more receptive to imigration and interacial maritage than asians) asians mixed themselves a lot less. When you see a DNA test from a japanese frequently shows 100% japanese people, but when you do a DNA test with a german, english or italian man it shows a lot of different things. Europeans have more varieties of phenotipes, and it's a fact when you see the varieties of hair color, hair shape, eye color, skin color, nose shape and etc, but how they're too mixed almost all countries can have some degree of these phenotipes. There is also the fact that Europe is a continent a lot smaller than Asia, and that amount of variation in a small area is really impressive
The main problem I see is that nationality is not ethnicity. Funnily enough, I didn't recognize my own (Spanish), but when I thougth "these ones look like normal people to me, so they must be the Spaniards"... They were Israel.

Saying that Brazil is an African country is an offense to other ethnic groups that have it. Because in Brazil there are different cultures and ethnic groups, such as Europeans, Japanese, Lebanese, Russians, Arabs, Africans, native peoples, Chinese. Finally, saying that in Brazil there is only one ethnic group is making offenses to European and Asian descendants and the Middle East.even because Brazil is the 3rd largest country with the whitest population behind the USA and Russia , even with a high white population , it is not a country that exists only in one culture

Good work but a little critic: One option had like "Norwegian, swedish, finnish, Dane", another one the answer was basically "African" (with the whole continent highlighted). The same with making a distinction with black and white USA, but then summarizing all of russia and brazil in one image... Of course this was made by someone from europe or the USA. But some detail could have been done to other regions that need it, or then just summarizing everyone to be more fair.

It's harder to find a large image set for generating the average face for a lot of african countries.
Some African areas are mentioned (not 'African'), like Ethiopia and West African and black South African. They are quite different and that shows well.
The details on Europeans are not right in some countries with many foreigners/refugees/import. Not as many right as i would have preferred, but still something around 65-75% or so.

The main problem I see is that nationality is not ethnicity. Funnily enough, I didn't recognize my own (Spanish), but when I thougth "these ones look like normal people to me, so they must be the Spaniards"... They were Israel.
Mediterranean blood ig
Nice try, jew.
Not really, was ridiculous, any spaniard identifies clearly the first as spaniards and the israelies absolutely foreigners.
@@pimpogluti7951Oh, perhaps I must have add that etnicity is not religion, either.
Not seen many English guys who look like that! AI picks the most handsome features.
As Indian, much of race of northen and east part of India you will very huge difference. East Indian looks more like monogloians where north Indian much decendands we have from Iran. When I compare my look I comes very close to afghan or Iran.
Considering there were 4 images, they could have included 1 from North West, 1 from South, 1 from North East and one Central. But i guess population matters.
They put only dark individuals in there, north India , north east missing even in kerala many of them are fair
@@DisProfundis this type of people can easily be found in all parts of India except Punjab, himachal northeast and JK.
Then you are the only exception in your country because most Indians look exactly like this.
I think 70% of these pictures doesn't match with standard steriotypes of countries's faces. This IA made a lot of mitakes. SOUTH KOREAN DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THAT, ENGLISH ARE WHITER, RUSSIAN MALE FACES ARE MORE STRONG AND MORE INTIMIDATING, ITALIANS LOOK MORE HANDSOME THAN THIS PICTURES... AFRO AMERICAN FROM UNITED STATES FACES ARE MORE ROUNDED.
I thought them Koreans was Japanese cats
Got 6 wrong guesses, most were from the European choices and one wrong guess from Asia. This is fun and entertaining to try and distinguish differences.
Thanks. I just released a newer version 😀
I'm working on part 2. It should be ready by Saturday. Be sure to subscribe so that you get a notification when it gets uploaded. In the mean time, I've created a few shorts of what to expect.
Can't agree with greek, there are people like those, but there are a lot of more variation.
Italy also looked more like Iraq, the only reason why I got right was the redhead girl, it should've had more variation showing north, central and south italian faces.
Also can't agree with japanese, they look more like taiwanese, or south japanese.
Second dude at the left looks like Jet Lee.
And as a White brazilian that lives in the amazon and looks like a sephardic Jew, Brazil looks almost accurate but it could be confused by rep. Dominica and colombia.
If the AI just added 2 or 3 white brazilians it would be more easy to identify.

Good work but a little critic:
One option had like "Norwegian, swedish, finnish, Dane", another one the answer was basically "African" (with the whole continent highlighted). The same with making a distinction with black and white USA, but then summarizing all of russia and brazil in one image...
Of course this was made by someone from europe or the USA. But some detail could have been done to other regions that need it, or then just summarizing everyone to be more fair.
They could have highlighted various people groups from the continent of Africa such as the Himba from Namibia or the San people from the southern portion of Africa whom have a very distinct appearance.
For me, Easiest to recognize is indian and Japanese..for European i think German is the easiest. For african, Ethiopian or east african is the easiest to recognize.
Living like 20 km from ukrainian border never meet even similar Ukrainian like AI created
As a Ukrainian I did not recognize Ukrainians😂,and Russians too..Russian Ladies have more round faces. I guessed 95% though.
@@HelenaNYC You are absolutely right. They are closer to the Finns than to the Slavs. I am also Ukrainian.
Росіяни є нащадками фінно-угрів із великою домішкою європейських тюркських племен. Завдяки останнім вони мають європейські риси. Так само, як і їхні брати фіни, стали схожі на європеоїдів завдяки шведам.

Uzbeks are one of Korea's favorite nations because they are an ethnic group that looks exactly like Koreans.
우즈베키스탄인은 한국인과 똑같은 외모를 하고 있는 민족 국가라서 한국이 가장 좋아하는 국가 중 하나입니다.
Think I got 85% right, thanks to that same country did not repeat itself. Neighboring countries like Sweden and Norway were difficult to tell apart. Also white american and scotts.
On the Balkans it is all mixed up 😃 Like if you are from Bulgaria, like me, you can be taken for greek, turkiah, serb, or mavedonian. When I was in Greece they thought I am local. So I guess for all neighbour regions it is the same. Like how you could guess (if you are not from that region) who is Swedish, Norwegian or Finish... Almost impossible.
It should be "Guess the ethnicity", not the nationality. You can be with indian facial features and be born in England and your nationality will be English in your passport... Make the difference.
This was an older version of Midjourney. I used the latest version of the AI Image generator for my latest video. It should offer a more accurate representation of the different countries.
I didn't look at the skin color, but rather the angle of the faces and their "general look" It is different across different nationalities regardless of "color." For example, I could easily pick out Serbian, Polish, or Lebanese looks.
Korean = japanese = chinese = taiwanese = Lao... Gosh
Theres a lot of diversity in many countries. The AI is proving that is not very acuride, but is learning yet.
I'ts funny that the first two Brazilians (from left to right) are common stereotypes of foreigners in relation to Brazilians (the exotic guy with green eyes and brown skin, I think hahahaha). The last two are much easier to find here.
Irish because of the red hair. Awesome country and people by the way.
Thanks. I just released a newer video using better AI technology.
I went to Ireland, I only saw light brown hair with light eyes. Not so much red hair.

As polish I got right Polish,Ukrainian, ethiopian and Indian, also I got west african, but I dont know why Serbian and Greek one look very similar
