don't listen to this man's technique for spraying roofs and hoods..
i spray automotive paint and the proper technique is the "push pull technique."
meaning you push the spray passes side to side across the hood to the halfway mark then jump around to the other side and pull from the half way mark towards you. the idea behind this is you're grabbing the wet edge to eliminate dry patches.
this technique.. well idk wtf this technique is.
I too have painted many cars. But this is not paint. This is the proper way to spray plasti dip.

You are only half right. If glossifier isn't shaken enough and you don't commit to a full fast press of the spraycap, it will "drip". Also your finger could be hitting the spray fan. For the "saving" money comment that isn't completely true. You trade full retail cost for no shipping. You also trade shipping speed for no shipping cost. This means smaller personal orders made through "hardware stores" wont get shipped as quickly. Reason being, is plastidip makes colors by batches. So yeah

Please hint me. My wagner does not spray properly though it is brand new. What can be the reason. Is there any regulations for this sprayer? May be I should clean the holes? Actually it sprays better from the bottom holes rather than from upper holes
I used to spray regular clearcoat with 1.3 mm nozel at 2.2 bar and now want to try PlasticDip.

remove it before it dries. The plasti dip will not come off with the tape that way
Hey my paint is peeling from the car. Do i have to sand the whole car to metal then primer and dip. Or just sand the area where the paint peeled primer and dip?
@DETPower dont over think it my man. Keep your gun on a low medium setting and just keep the flow steady. Apply a light coat and let it dry. Dont let the product form a full layer. Gl!

at how much distance do you hold your spraygun? dipyourcar says 4-5 inches and here in belgium they say around 8-12 inches, both use performix plastidip. wich will give the best result with the least texture? And 6 coats with fast moving or 4-5 coats and move a little bit slower?

Would the settings be the same for the Graco 2900? I notice the first coat you move quickly, is this to achieve a light coat with the gun at the medium setting?

there is a glossifier you can buy, it's got to be plastidip though, if you mix regular gloss it will crack and chip if you are doing removal, makes it a pain in the arse

Are not edges the enemy of plasti-dip? We're told to spray around the ends of hood, trunk and other panels to help ensure longer life and less chance of peeling. Making stripes is creating a raised edge. One would think it anathema as a practice. Help me out here.

ok so have seen people doing like 3 quick coates while its still wet, and peeling tape when its still wet, but you let the coates dry and peeled it off with the last coat wet. so if you do a wet coat will that penetrate the other dry coats so you are able to peel tape?
baallen98 yes, but make sure you are not laying super thick coats on the edge for every coat. you will notice i keep my passes just slightly away from my lines until the end.

do you take a 15 minute break after each coating
and if you do, doesn't the coating dry, and if you try to take off the tape, won't it take the plastidip with it?
j Tk no, he is spraying a thick wet coat last and thats when you take your tape off so you get a nice clean edge.

Looks great. I only have one issue. I noticed you took the time to use a respirator but no goggles. Toxins in vapors are absorbed through your eyes just as easily as through the respiratory system (maybe easier). You should let your viewers know about ALL safety precautions.
