Beautiful Interview. Not only is Commodore S Singh an inspiration, he is also a family friend. Him and my father Cdr Shalabh Saxena were in the same squadron 300. My father was the Engineering Officer of the Beautiful bird Sea harrier for over 20 years. Some Beautiful memories of Goa came back.
Here we have one of the most rarest of insight to an obscure aspect of Indian military aviation, where a Navy fighter pilot clearly mention about intercepting adversary aircraft in the real world...and you still didn't think to ask him to elaborate on that??? Like how these intercepts happen, how often it happens and when it happens how do the interactions with the Pakistani aviators go? Missed a huge opportunity.
Are you aware of Officials Secrets Act? If I haven’t asked that and if he hasn’t spoken about it, May be there is a reason. Also the intent of this channel is to unfold the hidden military leadership aspects and not put up a documentary at this stage. Thanks
First of its kind there was so much to learn here, really loved the podcast❤ Besides it raised up few questions. 1) Suppose it if i am an cadet, what's the step by step procedure of being a mig 29k pilot in Navy? 2) Should i still try for Navy as i heard as getting the naval aviation cadre is very competitive or should i drop few more months score more in CDSE and apply to Indian Airforce?
@@CronoSapien 1 The steps to become a fighter pilot are same in both Navy and Air Force. Twice a year cadets are selected through UPSC exam, SSB (including Pilot Aptitude and Battery Test) and Aviation Medicals. All selected cadets go through their respective service academy for service orientation and pre-flying training for six months. The next six months they learn the basic flying on Pilatus aircraft. Based upon the performance at this stage, they are selected for Fighters, transports and helicopters. Naval fighter pilots fly Hawks at Vishakhapattanam for at least one year before they are converted on MiG 29K. 2. As states earlier it is equally competitive in both the services.
@@ShailendraSingh-gu1fm Thank you so much sir I never have thought that you will Personally reply to me in such a short time, Sir you have lived the life to fullest the same life which as 21year old me is just dreaming about. Something which really had excited me. Sir can you please shade light on the topic of what is the procedure to be a Test Pilot in Indian Navy as it is not available anywhere in Internet? Besides, Thank you for your service sir, you really have earned our Respect❤
@@CronoSapienThank you for your kind words. As far as your query about Naval Test Pilot is concerned, fully operational pilots from all streams can opt and compete for the selection through an Exam conducted by IAF which conducts the training of test pilots at ASTE Bengaluru. i'm 6 '1 will there be any sort of problem for my anthropometric measures for airforce flying?
Unlikely. There are many pilots of this height in Navy and IAF.
