    I’ve lived here 16 years but we are leaving next year for Tennessee.. we want to buy land and that’s just not possible here, it’s too expensive and too built up but otherwise it’s a beautiful town with some of the best weather in the world!

    • @SanDiegoLiving
      @SanDiegoLiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, that will be quite the move! Land is expensive here no doubt, there are some opportunities occasionally in Oceanside and Vista that are great buys still, but very difficult in Carlsbad and south generally. What is taking you out to Tennessee??

    I really enjoyed this video. All of the aspects of Carlsbad living that you highlight are the same things that caused my wife and I to move to Carlsbad from No. Calif 3 years ago. Unfortunately the video only covers the northwest quadrant of a large and diverse community. We live on the southwest quadrant just a few minute walk to our beach, Ponto Beach. It would be great if you could highlight more aspects of our fantastic town. The touristy northwest area is wonderful but we are so much more than that! Thanks for a fun vid.

    • @SanDiegoLiving
      @SanDiegoLiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Randall! You are correct, I only covered the northwest quadrant. The series I’m doing is on coastal living, and the northern part of Carlsbad is where most of that is. I tried to label the video with (North) to help, but I appreciate the feedback. I fully plan on featuring other parts of Carlsbad down the road; it’s an incredible city for sure! Thank you again!!

    Another great thing pre-Covid...Legoland year-long season passes that are, or at least were, about the cost of two tickets. It has great rides, a huge water park, a cute little Acquarium and used to take the kids there for an hour or two a couple times a week.

    Carlsbad is great, but obviously between being on the coast, and in CA, with good jobs nearby, the real estate is pretty pricey

    • @SanDiegoLiving
      @SanDiegoLiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can’t argue with that one, but whose doesn’t love having a great job and living on the coast ;) There are some more affordable opportunities nearby though that are still great! Oceanside could be an awesome investment opportunity right now!

      @@SanDiegoLiving thank you very much! I had wondered if that is a GoPro, since the colour of your street walking footages are so nice! Is it the default colour of Gopro Max or you made it in post? I'm just into casual videos, mainly for travel, so I love to learn about small devices. I'm using iPhone, Gopro7, Sony Rx100 m5. I just bought a Sony A6600 but I see it's not so convenient in someway.

    • @SanDiegoLiving
      @SanDiegoLiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I appreciate that! I film it in flat actually and then apply a LUT that I made to color grade. Once you get it all setup its easy to do, and then you can just make minor adjustments depending on time of day and lighting that you are filming in. I just watched some other youtube videos to learn about it, absolutely makes a difference in getting the colors how you would like. You can also buy LUTs if you want. I find that using cameras like the a6600 require a lot of work to get it setup on a gimbal and stabilized and what not, end of the day you could probably get better video, the GoPro is just so much easier...

      That price point likely won’t allow you too close to the coastline to be honest but there are opportunities, especially if you are open to a studio or a small 1 bedroom.

      Depending on where you come from, I can see where this would be a concern you might have. Clients coming from downtown, LA, or the Bay Area seem to think there is so much space, people coming from anywhere north or east of CA feel just like you do. I have to say that personally, this factor is what makes Carlsbad and North County my favorite area in the country. You have a lot more space than being in San Diego proper, but still have access to all the city has to offer and the best weather money can buy! Thanks for your input, hope you are well!

  • @salleymudd5488
    @salleymudd5488 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    How expensive is it to live there? I'm thinking about apply to a job there but it pays 62k-72k and from what I know about California, idk if that's enough to live decently of of.
    I have an 8 year old and two dogs so I'd want to rent a 2 bedroom house. I don't want to buy as I already own a home here in Texas.
    Also, California's politics suck and because f that, so does the states education, infrastructure, and housing. California has the highest tax rate and highest homeless population in the country and I'm wondering if that has hit Carlsbad - like does Carlsbad have thousands of homeless ppl all over the place like LA, San Fransisco, Anaheim, and most of the other cities in CA?
    I just want to know if there's afford place to live in Carlsbad, and what the homeless population is like there. I'd hate to get the job and move there and be wishing I was back in Texas :/

    • @SanDiegoLiving
      @SanDiegoLiving  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Carlsbad is amazing, but based on the situation you described it could be challenging from a $ perspective. The homeless situation is sad, fortunately Carlsbad doesn’t have a quite the struggle with that like some of the other large cities you mentioned. It’s a smaller laid back coastal town.
