I have two parts of his story that cast a little bit of doubt for me, but maybe there is something at play that not quite as bad as self deception. When he heard the knock on the door and (for some odd reason) they magically were asked to move rooms. I’m going to say that’s at least 80%+ probability that they had something to do with that. And I’m going to say that the next incident (cop just randomly busting his girlfriends balls and asking if she had drug on her, followed by both of them getting arrested) is about 95% likely that there was nothing random at all about that event and they were both at fault there as well. Why he’s still pretending to be a victim as well as speak like a 12 year old is a warning sign that he isn’t rooted in reality completely and that’s always a major risk factor for relapsing. I hope he never uses again though.

Most people automatically think of T2 when they see Edward Furlong and some recall American History X but he was also in a relatively unknown little film with Kathy Bates called A Home of Our Own. It's quite sad and highly underrated in my opinion. Bates is phenomenal in it as usual.
Detroit rock city, before and after with Liam Neeson, Amerucan Heart with Jeff Bridges, animal factory with Willem Dafoe, Brainscan, pet sematary, and a very underrated film Jimmy and Judy was real good. Dude had a list of great movies and was real young.

Quitting any addiction is hard. My Grandma smoked from the age of 13 (1942) to the age of 60 (1989). She was about 2 packs a week throughout this time period. My cousin Tyler deserves all the credit in the world for getting her to quit because one night when us kids were real little he just said to our Grandma, "Grandma, cigarettes are bad for you and I love you and I don't want you to hurt yourself". And I remember this crystal clearly to this day, by God that saint of a woman put her cigarette out and she never smoked again. Not once. She never complained about withdrawals. She never made a big deal about it. She just did it. To me that is the greatest act of love I've ever witnessed in my life.
I am glad that Edward Furlong is doing better and I am from the heart wishing him well and hope to see him at a convention one day either Denmark or Sweden.. hopefully Malmö Sweden.

Poor Monica. Watched her in one of the Nightmare on Elm Street comic-cons. She was on stage sitting between Heather Langenkamp and Tuesday Night and was so completely out of it. It was really sad to see.😔
Yeah I saw that video also, she just looked bug-eyed and wired, I figured he was talking about Monica Keena when he said "Monica" in this video. She had a similar career to him. Started off strong but fizzled out after a while. I hope they're both doing okay now.
That was predictable before he even said anything about a cop. :/ like sure, just go down the st in eyes view. There's the everyone knows. Then there's the no1 will ever find out. I remember his 3d stuff at Disney. I had a crush on him as a teen. As an adult I saw some weird slasher film where I think he played some safastic director & wondered wth happened to him...
*Furlong is lucky to have survived Hollywood. He was groomed by a woman in her mid 20's when he was just 12 years old & the late night shows tried to normalize it even back in the early 90's.*
@@jaredmartin7040there's a happy middle ground. If youve done crimes that require jail time, because they're serious enough, you absolutely should be put in jail imo. However, if the root cause of your stealing for example, is to fund your addiction, then let's work on treating the addiction WHILE you're in prison as best we can. If the crime itself IS the using/acquiring of drugs, and you're a non violent offender, no, jail time is absolutely ridiculous. The fact we still have people in jail for pot in the US is absolutely disgusting.
Giving people criminal records because they use a substance that's different then the substance millions of people use around the world to 'get drunk daily" for example is just so beyond ridiculous. Imagine if there was almost zero illegal black market for drugs! Imagine if you could completely avoid the risk of getting drugs cut with dangerous crap! Accidentally getting crap with fentanyl in it... Imagine if you could get you legal "upper or downer or psych high" dose controlled accordingly from a medical professional, and was taxed accordingly, instead of all the money we LOSE fighting a worse then pointless "war on drugs" for decadeS now...
while your premise is agreeable, there comes a point in time where the line becomes blurred. while most non-organized criminal behavior is caused by people as a result of an addiction, most drug addicts don't wind up committing felonies as necessary outcome of their addiction. as a matter of fact, some of those who do escalate criminality might just be what 'snaps them out of it'. it's for these reasons that there must remain punishment for addicts who hurt people. addicted or not, they are still in there, and they have a choice, afterall
Man i feel him when he was explaining "kickin". Not in drug form but alcohol hangover form. I would be so hungover from binging that even walking to the bathroom or the kitchen to get water was a struggle 🤢🥵
when he was talking about a cop hassling him etc on top of all the other stuff...I had this thought skynet sent drug dealing terminators back in an alt timeline to get him realistic and gritty for a re-imagined movie
_THAT'S_ Edward Furlong? Holy cow! I think whenever studios hire young actors for huge movies they need to factor in the enormous pressure that can fall on their shoulders and have counselors work to prepare them for this and help guide them after the process fro several years. SO many young actors have spiraled out of control after becoming famous on TV or in movies. Some never recover.

Not like The Rock but he got big I barely recognized him. Both him and his brother relapsed and they both overdosed. Big brother left first then a couple years later he left us. Heartbreaking because they were both good men, they did lots of charity work, built homes for homeless in Haiti a number of things, their parents were preachers for the church and lived to help folks, they just had a problem. After his brother died I saw a Facebook post him saying something like, “I’ll be with you soon big brother.” He knew he wasn’t going to make it. He gave up. I've been sober for three years and I don't regret my past, but I never want to be in that place again.
What band were/are you in?
@@neilbottles2597 Polka Floyd
How much / often / what were you drinking ?
My brother is 36 and he's been drinking a bottle of rum a day, and sometimes 2 bottle's, for 15 years now. It's crazy. I need help. I can't get him to stop !
Cool story bro 🤷🤦
Peer pressure is real, when you're around people who aren't good for you or people cheering on the drunk/drugged up guy - then it's not a situation where those people really care about you, they're there for a "laugh". So good to see him progressing well. Keep going Ed buddy.
Didn't he say he gave her stuff. 😂
He was the guy that introduced her to this
Love to see Edward on here wish him all the best
Brave of him to share his story, I hope it’s helps others who struggle with this poison.
I'm ready for a Furlong comeback
He doesn’t really have star quality anymore though. Maybe try directing
Not with that look. He needs to get in shape first. His face isn't giving star quality either.
@@jackwalker5266 if he does get then he could reprise his role as Connor
@@HeDanceswithwolves He's done though. He was done after T3 contract was pulled. He's shown no interest in reprising his role since he would need a year or more to change his lifestyle completely and well, let's just say he spoken about how he falls off after a while. Plus screen tests he hasn't aged well, acting ability nose dived after growing out of his young star boy image
And too much baggage.
@@jackwalker5266 I hope he can turn around
Most people automatically think of T2 when they see Edward Furlong and some recall American History X but he was also in a relatively unknown little film with Kathy Bates called A Home of Our Own. It's quite sad and highly underrated in my opinion. Bates is phenomenal in it as usual.
A home of our own is really good. Thanks for reminding me. He was also in "Night of the Demons" remake from the 2010's.
Detroit rock city, before and after with Liam Neeson, Amerucan Heart with Jeff Bridges, animal factory with Willem Dafoe, Brainscan, pet sematary, and a very underrated film Jimmy and Judy was real good. Dude had a list of great movies and was real young.
@@vicvega3614 Totally had forgotten about Pet Sematary 2!! Yes, he was awesome in that as well. Great performance. Wasn't Captain Hadley from Shawshank in that too? I think he played a sheriff or something.
Thats one of those movies I can only watch every five years or so. Lol It'll gut you. Especially if you grew up poor. Amazing performances from everyone.
Thanks! I’ll have to check that out!
Glad you still around homie. It's scary to have an addiction nowadays. Everything is laced with fent.
Ed a special place in my heart.
Great actor. Keep it up bro. Thank you for sharing.
Miss having you in Film. Very underrated actor. Sorry to hear you hit so low. Glad to see youre still fighting
Are you sure?
The word "underrated" is literally used on EVERY actor interview in internet history.
This is the worst use yet.
Yeah, I mean it sucks his life went off the rails. But not sure how you get to very under rated actor.
More like a great actor who never allowed himself to hit his peak due to the path he took
@@NeilPundick true.
Well, ive quite literally never used the term to describe an actor before. of course i had to hear about it from an insufferable human the first chance they got.
Glad you were able to turn the corner sir. Stay strong.
Mr Furlong, I wish you all of the best in the world. I really do.
I'm so glad and proud that he is doing so much better now. Big love for Eddie, always. Stay awesome bro!
Wanna hear him and Steve O talking to each other
Ehh…Eddy will always be cool. Steve Os a bit of a sold out, washed up attention whore (imho). However, I am Happy they are both alive and well.
Dude
Was thinking the exact same thing 😂
hahaha, they do sound alike XD
One Steve O is enough haha
Glad you’re still here with us Eddie.
I always wished this guy would have stayed sober and stayed on the acting path. Great talent as a young actor. All the best to him good to see him turn it around.
Edward Furlong really is an epic actor. He not that much older than me, and I've been watching his films my whole life. He really has so much more to offer fans. He's worth it! I hope he sees this message one day and it puts a smile on his face. I want to see more movies with him ❤
Quitting any addiction is hard.
Awesome. Your grandma sounds like tough woman. I had a granny like that. Toughest person I've ever known. 😅
2 packs a week is amateur hour.
It would be quite funny if she had never even realized it was bad for you until that point. Respect to her for going turkey like that though.
That's very admirable but just realize some addictions you can't just quit outright, it can be dangerous
That story doesn't add up 😂
Such a down to earth guy, so glad he turned things around
Listen to this guy stay away from drugs and bad people be your own best friend
I am glad that Edward Furlong is doing better and I am from the heart wishing him well and hope to see him at a convention one day either Denmark or Sweden.. hopefully Malmö Sweden.
The three movies I remember him in is of course T2, American History X and The Crow 3, he played The Crow.
So brave of him to be so honest
Edward Furlong is a legend. Terminator 2 is a classic . And low key Pet Cemetery 2 is highly over looked . You the man Eddie!
Legend? Hes a one hit wonder child star who ruined his career from drugs. Dime a dozen
@@williamh3845 I agree with the second part but one hit wonder?
@@memyself898Yep he never got out of the stereotype of playing a kid like home alone kid
He had some roles but nothing compared to his T2 star quality
We love you, Edward! Continue celebrating your life
!
He was amazing in American History X
It's a damn shame his career went the way that it went. But I'm glad that he finally reached his rock bottom and got clean, which is the most important thing
Thank you for your honesty. Heroine is such an ugly addiction . My dad and my fiancé died from it🙏🏾😢
He looks like Devon Larratt but he did drugs instead of armwrestling.
lol he does!
😂😂
Yup!
Lol
😂
Poor Monica. Watched her in one of the Nightmare on Elm Street comic-cons. She was on stage sitting between Heather Langenkamp and Tuesday Night and was so completely out of it. It was really sad to see.😔
Yeah I saw that video also, she just looked bug-eyed and wired, I figured he was talking about Monica Keena when he said "Monica" in this video. She had a similar career to him. Started off strong but fizzled out after a while. I hope they're both doing okay now.
Talking about rock bottom while wearing a Clermont Lounge shirt is SOLID GOLD to this Atlantan. Bless this Man.
Ah. The Clermont Lounge. Where strippers go to die, haha!
Good on him for changing and getting his life on track.
Love this guy. Really do.
It makes me glad to know he’s clean and healing.

You gotta have Eddie on again Michael, this was one of the best pods.
Such a Talent. Beautiful person. Period
Was waiting for the cop to show her a pic and say...."have you seen this boy?" T2 just plain awesome.
Thank you for sharing! No shame!!!
Edward was guided to the right place to help with his recovery🙂
Wow I am very very proud of him that he worked on getting better good for him 😊❤

Drug addicts should NOT be put in prison.
They're NOT criminals, they're sick.
A lot of them are criminals that's the problem
It's a sickness that makes you a criminal you square lol a weekend in LA county sobers up 95% of whiteboys who otherwise wouldn't be there.
I am so glad he’s doing okay. I really enjoyed this podcast!
Man i feel him when he was explaining "kickin". Not in drug form but alcohol hangover form. I would be so hungover from binging that even walking to the bathroom or the kitchen to get water was a struggle 🤢🥵
You are a great actor, and I'm so glad you are doing well. Cheers!
One time Eddie thought a T 1000 cosplayer was a real cop and bailed on a convention early.
when he was talking about a cop hassling him etc on top of all the other stuff...I had this thought skynet sent drug dealing terminators back in an alt timeline to get him realistic and gritty for a re-imagined movie
Wow, he seems so much better now. Good for him. Keep it up man!!!!
Proud of you Mr. Furlong. We do recover. Hope to see you in the movies again 👊 cheers from Hackensack NJ ✌️
So glad to know he's doing so much better.
They also need to stop raping them
Yeah he looks terrible. Unrecognizable.
Studios don't care. Not even a little.

Epic Stories for sure
Monica Keena is the actress he strung out. They met on the set of the night of the demons remake
I saw her in a documentary about Friday the 13th (maybe it was nightmare on elm St) and you could tell she was ripped on something. She was so hot before the drugs got to her, not so much after.
. She was a panelist at a Nightmare on Elm st. Convention, and she was out of it and nodding off there. This was maybe in '21/'22. I cringed everytime it was her turn to answer questions.
She had her own personal choices throughout the whole relationship.
@@aoversI had just added a comment about the same thing. That was really sad to see.
A guy I was friends with from HS and after had an H problem, so did his big brother. He was a skinny dude went to rehab for a year in CA. He came back he was diesel. He gave up. Such a shame, they were both in their mid to late 20s. I’m so glad I never did hard drugs.
