I really wish Bandai Namco would release an Ace Combat Remastered Collection, featuring Ace Combat 4, 5, 6, and Zero. I would buy that in a heartbeat. With improved graphics, achievements, and it would be well worth the $60 dollars due to the amount of content.

I finally starting playing 6 because I got my hands on the 360 flight stick. As someone who hasn't previously played any kind of flight SIM game I was instantly hooked.
M.M i grew up with ace combat. The story can be a bit ridiculous but they’re fantastic mechanically wise, and it has this really awesome science fiction mixed within its lore. Cannons that shoot meteorites out of the sky to rain down hell on countries, aircraft carriers that are also air craft carriers with mounted guns and its amazing. Definitely look into the series
Same, I've been playing since it was Air Combat back in the day. 6 is the only game I didn't play. AC5 is was something special. I don't game much these days but I'm thinking about giving this one a shot. Looks beautiful!

Ace combat will always have a special place in my heart because my dad got me into this series. I used to watch him play Ace combat 1 & 2 on PlayStation as a kid.

Dude, great review! You always hit it right on the head! But, I must confess, I had preordered this game months ago. Not just the game, but the all inclusive season pass and joystick edition. The reason why is...this was the first game in a long time that my dad wanted to play. He was an NFO (Naval Flight Officer) in the United States Navy for most of his life. For those that don’t know, there are other planes in the military besides fighter jets. The ones he flew in were four seaters and performed roles outside of plane to target combat. His primary role was navigation and equipment, but sometimes he was in direct control of the plane. Anyway, he had several friends who were fighter pilots, and to put it simply, there were few places he enjoyed being more than in the sky. Anyway, he saw the ad for this game and was instantly sold. We were both so excited for it, and he couldn’t wait to play my PlayStation with a controller he actually understood. Unfortunately, as you may have guessed, my father passed away last year, right alongside HIS father, in a tragic plane crash. They were trying to fly my grandfathers private prop plane from CA to FL. They only made it as far as Heber, AZ. But I still bought the game, and I painted my Fathers name and Naval callsign on the joystick. And I don’t care what any one else says, I will play this game until it stops working. I will play this game until I’m the best at it. Because my Father was the best, and this is one of the many ways I’m going to honor him. Aces even challenge the true sky! Rest In Peace Randall “Mob” Lynch June 8, 1966 to November 16, 2018

Regarding sound: If you shoot with your machine into water, not only you will see the water reacting to the bullets, if you fly at a lot altitude, you will also hear it. Pretty amazing stuff. I mean, if you're like me and appreciate this level of details.
I’ve always loved Ace Combat games for as long as I can remember and I’m so happy with AC7. So incredibly amazing in every way and I couldn’t be happier with any other game rn.

A 10 was not meant for Air-Air combat. The A10 is a cannon strapped to a plane made for Air-Ground support. Its "slow" speeds allow it to have excellent loitering capabilities, Therefore better more time to eat tanks on the ground. Lots of people look down on the A10 for its weak to Air-Air capabilities but you ask any solider who's been pinned down by heavy enemy fire and then hearing that BRRZZZZZZZTTT from an A10 swooping down turning the enemy into fertilizer, thats the sound of heaven and the Lord has sent down an Angel in the form of the A-10 Warthog.
You mean a A-10 is a Jet strapped on to a big 30mm gun A-10 air to air capabilities are not so bad. it can out turn a fast mover and it can slow down to line up a missile shot on a fast movers were the afterburner jet would stall and fall out of the sky but not before the A10 hit them one of its air-to-air missiles
I’ve had my eye on this game for almost two years now and I am so so excited it has finally released, And even more excited that it has gone back to its roots. I believe the last one I played was ace combat four and I absolutely loved that game as well. the story was surprisingly compelling, and for you to say the same thing about this one just has me beyond stoked to get it started . Only thing that’s stopping me right now is Just waiting for it to finish downloading . But anyway bro just wanted to say great review and hope to see you in the Beautiful yet not so friendly skies soon. Oh also loved the firebirds callback! That movie by far is super underrated I still catch myself watching it at least once or twice a year along with iron Eagle one and two which I actually just watched this morning lol
I'm currently playing this on PC and recently completed on hard. Unlocked the Ace difficulty. Feels like the game made me push myself just for that moment. And yes, expert level flight is the only flight for me. Also first person view.
Best Buy has this on sale for 39.99 this week so I finally took the risk and went for it. I’m really excited to give it a shot. It was either this, or Crew 2. Do you guys think I made the right call? PS COLOR ME SHOCKED: I don’t have terrible internet, but it’s also not number one. It typically takes 2-4 hours for a game to install and download. This only took 25 minutes! ✈️♥️
Clayton Shannon did you get to mission 5 yet? The Crew 2 can be fun but they are two different types of games. Get both if you can but when I played the Crew 2, I overall felt disappointed.
I was sold on Ace Combat with the cover art for Assault Horizon Legacy 8 years ago for the 3DS. Had a blast playing that game. Can't wait to play with more advanced controls and stunning visuals
It’s so cool , I finished the campaign in one day straight lol I’ve been place ace combat since 10 years and this one is a good one ! I just bought the Thrusmaster T flight Hotas 4 for PS4 and PC for only 60$ and it’s dope !
Finally someone said it , fuck that timer. All AC games had timers but they were finely tuned to push you not shove you to the point where it feels like a speed run like this title. Its the laziest way devs introduce difficulty. Multitasking is a bit clunky , they saturated the game with it , some people love it and some hate it.
I find it shady how they are not giving us Ace Combat 6 & Ridge Racer 6 for the backwards compatibility on XB1. They pulled those games from the XB & PS stores. As a long time fan and one who literally bought all of their products on all the older consoles, this hurts!! Anyone else disappointed?
Jack .Stravinsky man that sucks. I have the PS4 Pro which I use as my main console, but I also have the Xbox one for backwards compatibility. I was watching this video thinking I might be able to play AC6 on my Xbox One. Luckily I still have my Xbox 360.
the speed limiter killed that game. I want a game that allows me to stall on purpose without going into that ridiculous RC aircraft mode where the aircraft is just tumbling around in the wind. You need to be able to stall to do certain evasion techniques. Every aircraft in HAWX has the turning circle of a 747..... I haven't played HAWX2 though tbf. Also those bloody gates. Where is mah skill if the game just gives you a bunch of hoops to fly through and shoot at the little red squares? Ace Combat makes you do all that on your own. Unfortunately I didn't really get into it.
Only ever trust this guys reviews!!!! He's never put me in the wrong direction and I know his review is from the heart as a gamer and no other reason. Great content again.
IMO AC7 is one of the best Aerial Combat games I've ever played. Story is Metal Gear level amazing, graphics take your breath away, gameplay is almost flawless. Also JPEG Dog XD
Firebirds. That was the Nicholas Cage + Sean Young movie with them being Army Apache pilots. I remember seeing that in theater with friends way back in the day.
Someone finally mentions Iron Eagle next to Top Gun! Although it's hard to beat Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins, Chasing the Angels by Mike Reno is a pretty good contender.
Are you guys on drugs? Iron Eagle was awful and a disgrace. In the Air Force we always joke about how the coolest jet movie is about the Navy and we got Iron Eagle.
Ace Combat is one of those games that has a very special place in my heart , I played every single game since Ace Combat 2 on PS1 and will play every future game that comes out ! I actually love the story in these games the insane over the top stuff that Japanese game developers have mastered Ace Combat is like Metal Gear Solid In the sky. You either fully embrace the game as a whole or never quite get into it but generally speaking the series as a whole is the best arcade modern air combat game !
I hope someone makes a 4D experience using PS VR and a motion chair with a joy stick and a throttle. That would be the greatest gaming experience possible.
I just got my hands on the Xbox 360 Ace Edge flight stick a few days ago and finally starting playing Ace Combat 6. Then I find out this game is coming out along with it's own flight stick. I'm hooked.
The stick has been out for a while. You can use it with Elite: Dangerous (a space sim) and I think a few others. Also it's PC ready. It's the best HOTAS you can get for $60. I used to have one before I traded up. Look up the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas 4
@@dancindavey1515 Well considering I paid $40 I'm pretty happy. I dont know if I could justify the full price though. The controller probably works fine but the stick is definitely more fun.
@@poisonouslead85 Well Hori just released one alongside this game. It's like $200 which is very expensive. Are the throttle and stick separate pieces on the thrustmaster?
The only Ace Combat game I've played was Horizon Assault which was okay but watching this review reminded me of Ubisoft's HAWX which I had a great time playing. Plus, air combat games are rare nowadays and I hope this is a resurgence for that kind of genre.
I was on the fence, and this video is the one that convinced me to buy the game during the summer Steam sale. I must say.... wow. This game is beautiful and the planes handle really well. I have Ace Combat Assault Horizon on Steam also, and was thinking they would be essentially the same thing so why waste money.... Let me say Ace Combat 7 plays and feels a LOT better. It's a lot less tedious and is just.... fun. Great review, man. ( By the way, your review on Monster Hunter World got me to buy that game too and I had lots of fun with that one. I'm going to be subscribing to this channel now. )
I absolutely love how the HUD feels pretty much the same as it was in Ace Combat 3 back in the PS1 days! I think that was the last one I actually played. so much nostalgia, good times! What about the story? Does it matter if I'm going into this blind?
Whew I was biting my nails there for a bit, as nobody liked the last one. They brought in some of the old crew to go back basics for this thankfully. And on PC too.
One of the best, if not the best reviewer out there. (loving skill up reviews too) No bull and down to the point. Never change dude, it's nice to have a reviewer you can trust!
Glad this was done well, this remains (Ace Combat series) the only Military game "sim" I enjoy. So was happy to see in your review the quality remains. Thanks as always for all the work these quality reviews take. An thanks to your Patrons which allow you to do this full time and allow you to do your channel YOUR way.
Pee yourself horror and peel your face off sims are why I need a VR set. With some decent horror VR titles out there this, may push me to do so for the latter. Good review. Thanks for that.
So glad to see this get a great review. I've been looking forward to this since I found out about it a year or so back. I'll finally have another game to play using my HOTAS (at the moment it's just Elite Dangerous) Yet another great review, from the best review channel on TH-cam!!!
Buy it. Ace Combat 7 is basically being ignored by game media because they found it difficult. And as always, they call it the "Dark Souls" of flight games. This series has always been underrated.
Ace Combat 5 and 6 are amazing titles in the series, and 7 is true continuation in the series.
Aren't flight games normally rather difficult?
@ideamachineim yeah unlike the other Ace Combat games, which had amazing story lines, this story line is confusing and there's plot holes everywhere, but the gameplay is 10/10.
I haven't found the game that difficult. But then, I've been playing the series since the PS1 days so I know what to expect.
It's my first AC game. I love that this game is freaking hard. If it wasn't it would be pretty boring. I love trying to figure out each mission. It's like a puzzle.
What’s the longevity of this game?

It makes me want a Pro, actually. If the VR ever comes to PC, I might have to suck it up and buy a Denuvo title.

But anyway bro just wanted to say great review and hope to see you in the Beautiful yet not so friendly skies soon.
Oh also loved the firebirds callback! That movie by far is super underrated I still catch myself watching it at least once or twice a year along with iron Eagle one and two which I actually just watched this morning lol
enjoy and ya fun movie
I've been playing this series since it was called "Air Combat". Crazy how fast time flies by...
I'm thoroughly enjoying it, brings back memories playing StarFox 😃 Normal difficulty is actually much more forgiving than I anticipated.
*sees game*
*remebers Yellow 13*
Aww the feels........... they be commin' back!
It’s so cool , I finished the campaign in one day straight lol
I’ve been place ace combat since 10 years and this one is a good one !
Multitasking is a bit clunky , they saturated the game with it , some people love it and some hate it.
or when you hear a bullet just miss your cockpit the adrenal rush this game gave me it felt so very good i haven't played ace combat in a while
Timed missions? I hate it when games do that.
ya not amazing
Yea I do too
The real question is, are there tunnels?
@@seantaylor2683 Yes
You have plenty of time for the missions dont worry
"Why Drink & Drive when You Can Smoke & Fly"
I find it shady how they are not giving us Ace Combat 6 & Ridge Racer 6 for the backwards compatibility on XB1. They pulled those games from the XB & PS stores. As a long time fan and one who literally bought all of their products on all the older consoles, this hurts!! Anyone else disappointed?
Jack .Stravinsky man that sucks. I have the PS4 Pro which I use as my main console, but I also have the Xbox one for backwards compatibility. I was watching this video thinking I might be able to play AC6 on my Xbox One. Luckily I still have my Xbox 360.
Definitely going to pick this up. Loved these sorts of games as a kid and have been waiting for a good flight game on the ps4.
enjoy
So glad Ace Combat is back. Now I wish I could say the same too with HAWX series (come on Ubisoft).
me as well
Ikr. I loved hawks 2
That SHIT WAS AWESOME!
Hawx was awesome!
the speed limiter killed that game.
I ignored so many of my friends and wasted so many hours just to play this game and it was all worth it😂😂
This game is incredible. Loved every minute of it. 4 and 5 are still the best in terms of story but gameplay this one is just as good if not better.
Only ever trust this guys reviews!!!! He's never put me in the wrong direction and I know his review is from the heart as a gamer and no other reason.
Great content again.
thanks Katie
IMO AC7 is one of the best Aerial Combat games I've ever played. Story is Metal Gear level amazing, graphics take your breath away, gameplay is almost flawless. Also JPEG Dog XD
Firebirds. That was the Nicholas Cage + Sean Young movie with them being Army Apache pilots. I remember seeing that in theater with friends way back in the day.
Someone finally mentions Iron Eagle next to Top Gun! Although it's hard to beat Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins, Chasing the Angels by Mike Reno is a pretty good contender.
you have to
Iron eagle is every bit as good as Top Gun imo, and I hate when it gets overlooked when its such an entertaining movie
Are you guys on drugs? Iron Eagle was awful and a disgrace. In the Air Force we always joke about how the coolest jet movie is about the Navy and we got Iron Eagle.
I've been waiting for this for year's
And here I am, two days after getting the deluxe edition, three days after release, loving it
Ace Combat is one of those games that has a very special place in my heart , I played every single game since Ace Combat 2 on PS1 and will play every future game that comes out !
Hope we get a few free planes later down the road
I'm glad Ace Combat is finally getting the mainstream recognition it's deserved since the days of 04 Distant Thunder.
Got the collector's edition. It's so sweet :)
So jelly
Ace Combat 6 was a favorite of mine back in the day. I never finished it, but I'll definitely keep my eye on this one.
FUNKOfilms Are these sticks worth the money? Jets handle better and more realistic, or are the usual controllers just as good?
@@dancindavey1515 Well considering I paid $40 I'm pretty happy. I dont know if I could justify the full price though. The controller probably works fine but the stick is definitely more fun.
@@poisonouslead85 Well Hori just released one alongside this game. It's like $200 which is very expensive. Are the throttle and stick separate pieces on the thrustmaster?
They add sandbox patrols? I love that in Bomber Crew and that shit is endless fun.
The only Ace Combat game I've played was Horizon Assault which was okay but watching this review reminded me of Ubisoft's HAWX which I had a great time playing. Plus, air combat games are rare nowadays and I hope this is a resurgence for that kind of genre.
ya so fun
assault horizon sucked anyway
Assault Horizon was made after HAWX and really was meh.
If you liked HAWX, pick up the older AC titles if you still got a PS4 and try them out!
Nice review, just played it for 2 plus hours and this is my 1st AC. Most fun I’ve had in a long time on ps4.
thanks
If I weren't already subscribed the joke requesting it at 00:54 would have sealed the deal!
lol thanks man
ACG mmmmmmm maybe subscribe lol 🤣🤣👍🏻
I've been playing these for a couple decades now! How crazy is that! Love these games and so keen for this one
ya good title
Jesus I was literally playing AC6 on my 360 last week
Hey, I call bullshit on that.
Man I love your channel glad you reviewed Ace combat always been fan of it and loving it on ps4 pro at moment .
Whew I was biting my nails there for a bit, as nobody liked the last one. They brought in some of the old crew to go back basics for this thankfully. And on PC too.
yep indeed
I used to play JetFigther 2015 back in 2005 :) I love that game. But I am in love with this one Now.
One of the best, if not the best reviewer out there. (loving skill up reviews too) No bull and down to the point. Never change dude, it's nice to have a reviewer you can trust!
I played ace combat 2 on ps1 and i loved it, looking forward to buying this.
“Ace Combat VII: Skies Alone”
As always....the best reviews on this website. Karat, you are a true joy to tune into and watch. Thank you brother.
appreciate that
@@ACGreviews it's just simply facts brother. Love everything you do brother please keep it up....
Been waiting for this, AC4 has always been my fave game ever
yep its a good time to be a gamer
I love AC series but still exclusively waited for your review! Best review channel I've ever seen
It's pretty funny to see how many people struggle with this game. Been playing since AC4, so it's hard to put myself in the shoes of a nugget lol
The amount of effort you guys put forth into each project for even the least exposed games is ridiculously surprising, ACG.
thank you and its just me
Reminds me of Hawx, never beat that game. Now I see how far back my backlog goes Haha! *Blows dust from Xbox 360*
Hawx was an Ace Combat rip off.
Yea, ace combat was way before hawx
While dusting off, I found AC6 and Assault Horizon on my shelf. After clearing the first 6 missions I can say, good friend Ace Combat is back!
what a great review! thanks man! i put hundreds of hours into ace combat 4. this will be my first one in years!
VR is sooooo perfect for this kind of game!!!!!
yep
But you can only play some VR missions, not the whole game :(
but motion sickness
So glad to see this get a great review. I've been looking forward to this since I found out about it a year or so back. I'll finally have another game to play using my HOTAS (at the moment it's just Elite Dangerous) Yet another great review, from the best review channel on TH-cam!!!
