'Oh my word. That's delightful!' Literally my new catchphrase when I like new types of food.
You honestly produce some of the most entertaining content on youtube, thanks Barry.
You are the most entertaining taste tester ever!
"The remix to ignition, hot n spicy Mcchicken, momma said we not going bc we got food in the kitchen." 😂 I know this video is old but I've been watching mvk like crazy lol
Another year later and this is still funny. Thank you!
Wow.Portuguese subtitles? I didn´t even ask for them, and it already show automatically. Very nice of Barry, Ty. Its the details that matters.
His reaction to the erectile dysfunction fact made my stomach come out through my mouth laughing so hard.
My dad received that identical bag of ginseng candy from one of his co-workers and ended up giving it to the office Secretary who also happens to be Korean - she was excited beyond belief
That powdery grit from the soft jellies (green tea and orange) is because they're made from red bean paste, which is often not very refined. Takes some getting used to.
That yellow wrapped thing, the gelatinous one, appears to be red bean stuff. I think it's sometimes eaten as-is, but is often added to foods, since some find it cloying on its own. I could very well be wrong, but I recall SimonandMartina(Eat Your Kimchi, popular Canadians who live in South Korea) trying something similar years ago. Hope that is helpful.
omg this was amazing these are always so funny. it wouldnt be a treat tasting video without Barry Lewis movie reference
We also have most of those snacks here in Sydney! The last snack is a copied version of the ChocoPie by the company Lotte. If there's any Korean groceries near you, it's pretty much a guarantee you'll find the ChocoPie snack there. Try look around or research to find a Korean grocery near you, I'm sure they will have a humongous amount of snacks in there.
I think you're supposed to dissolve the orange and green jelly stuff in some warm water and have it as a beverage.... 😁
I was thinking the same thing
No we just eat it like candy
No it is called yanggeng....
That may taste okay, but I think the way Barry ate it is the way it is supposed to be eaten.
I've had the first one as well and I agree they're fantastic. I really enjoy your videos. I've been binge watching your videos and I just found your channel 2 days ago.
Was hoping Ashens was accompanying you in this vid. I love the two of you together. Please feature him more often. Cheers mi dears!! 👍🏻
The first things in the video can be found at import stores in the U.S. under the name "Meiji Cosomi Cookie Crackers". That description is pretty accurate. As for the other things, I've no idea.
'Hard Tack' is also known as 'Ship's Biscuit'. A very hard biscuit made to last almost forever on old sailing vessels. Often eaten when full of wildlife. I'm saying no more. If you live near Bristol, as I think you do, then you can check this up on their maritime museum website.
I'm rather confused by the last treat - a bite it taken but then the next clip is you holding a different chocolate treat that you tried earlier whimsy sing ignition so...you never reviewed the final and most interesting looking treat?
I noticed that too
From slowly going through the video it appears that he never reviewed the Oreo looking one, which is 3 parts stacked together, and thus bigger than the one that we see him taking a bite out of which was only a small layer
U had most of the packages upside down lol I'm Korean so I'm used to all this food. Even tho I live in the USA
The soft jelly are kinda like tea cakes. The more popular ones are made of chestnut or red beans but I think the two you have is green tea and I can't tell which one the orange one is. The "yeast barley hard tack" is a failed attempt to translate lol. They're basically fermented barley snacks and yes, they are very dry. These are very commonly eaten in the military because it is very filling (I heard). They're called "Gun-ppang" which literally translates into dry bread
LOL!! I lost it when you got to the sunflower seeds! XD
The jelly that has a powdery texture is red beans turned into a gel with agar
Very cool! Those items looke quite tasty to me.
Tea is my favourite hot drink, how could you possibly not like them!!!!!!??????
Quality. More please!
"Short stumpy and fatter....like me!" XD Barry you crack me up
Yessss my favorite videos
Nice video! Mind doing hard candy recipe? Maybe even sour :D keep up the work!
Your holding the the snacks upside down at 2:28 They say 영양갱. The orange one was probably red bean paste and very sweet. The guy on the package at 6:38 was probably pounding glutinous rice for rice cakes. That is the traditional way of making glutinous rice cakes. The traditional Japanese way of making Mochi is similar. That one is called Jukipie. Really 파이 spells pie in Hanggeul.
I'm sure that those ginseng sweets were nicer than what I had once, Barry. 5 year infused ginseng water. I know that ginseng is supposed to taste "earthy" as it's a root, but this had bits of soil in the water!
i freaking love hard tack biscuits i know they dont have much flavour but theyre so addictive. theyre somwthing they ised to give out in the korean military, even in the uk but bigger versions =)
The gello things are made from red beans. Ginseng maybe not that delicious but really healthy, so even U don't like it eat some from time to time. Marry Poppins crackers I like them so much :). And the last one that looked like flower not my fav one :)
I work in Korean company so i taste those treats pretty often:) Try some more different ones :) I am sure that U will find ones that will became one of Your fav treats :)
Greetings from Poland :)
BARRY could you make a steamed syrup pudding
'Hard Tack' is also known as 'Ship's biscuit'. Very, very hard indeed. Almost indestructible. On long sea voyages, it would often be crawling with weevils, maggots, and mealworms. Nice.
Korean snacks are just great! Hope you enjoyed them as much as i did haha:)
And the kid on the choco pie is hammering mochi
You got treats that are really traditional lol not many koreans eat those except pepero
a lot of them are preferred by elderly people
3:14 love the noises ahaha
I really like your videos ^^
haha this was funny you gotta do more =D xxx
Please, for the next US taste test, someone send him a box if Larabars. He would LOVE them. They are sweet, AND healthy. Clif and Pressed by Kind are good as well.
Hello Barry! I am sure someone has already has better translations and more info on what this stuff is, but here is my info. That cookie biscuit thing you tried oddly enough my parents just bought a box from the Korean grocery store near us (named Lotte, two different companies though) and they are called Cosomi and yeah, I love them. Fun fact, a South Korean company had a small factory in North Korea to help the people there by giving them a job and sometimes Korean treats, the chocolate pies being one of them. Then, the North Korean government confiscated them and they are now a black market item there. That first Lotte thing you had in that gold wrapper is red bean paste jelly, I personally love it, very healthy stuff. Also, I think Lotte is pronounced (not the best at showing things like this are pronounced btw) Lowtay, I think anyway. Also, I wish some of the stuff you had was in there store I usually see! Those sunflower seed M&Ms look great, hardtac is a great survival food, it lasts forever, and those chocolate Pocky like things look great! So, there is some info for you.
The chocolate pocky-like almond thing is called Lotte peppero almond. We have that here in Singapore as well.
역시 나라,지역,문화에 따라 어떤 맛을 느끼는지 다른가 봅니다.
한국사람들은 다 좋아하거든요. 물론 아닌 사람들도 많지만.
First ones are incredibly delicious
That last one seemed pretty much exactly like a moon pie.
Kimchi! www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=kimchee

How come you haven't filmed in your studio in almost 2 months
Stuart Ashen loathes tea, so you're in good company as a tea-hating Brit, Barry. I'm in the US, myself, and while I enjoy the smell of tea and coffee, neither drink does much for me.
Woah those r sooo cool!!!!!!!
