@@grants7 someone asked you the same thing when you first watched Alien the movie or Star Wars, decades after release? Should we also bring classic books to the discussion?
@@legesflute was never asked any of that with Alien or Star Wars as I watched both of those at a younger age and I was born back in 1997, I didn’t mean to sound offensive about it but I’m used to playing popular games or movies that I seem interested in at the earliest opportunity possible but I know that doesn’t mean the same thing for everyone and I respect/understand that. As for books, I’ve read some but I’m not as interested in those as I am with video games and movies.
The game is 10 years old and very popular to this day... Hard for anything to be spoiled when the AI learns from your own gameplay and only 1 big jump scare could... ok two jump scares would be ruined from it
@@MaaxxypooGames I always just checked all the door locks I know when a horror game gives you false security why else would a locker be I there... well one you are able to jump into anyway
Incredible game. Completed it a few times and I'm playing it again before I see Alien Romulus this Friday. It was that intense, I had to have breaks from playing it for a while...
So, for those not in the know; The Xeno has a 2-stage AI process; One being the Director AI and the other being the Xeno AI itself, all working meticulously to create a terrifying experience. Now, in simple terms, The director AI is in charge of player engagement and keeping the xeno tethered to the player at all times, be it scripted or unscripted as a way of "challenging" the player while watching/tracking their mistakes & behaviour. Make too much of a ruckus (firing weapons, running around, etc) the xeno will come running, as it evident throughout. Now, the COOL part to all of this? Their is a mod which effectively unchains the Xeno AI from the Director AI in a much looser fashion and increases the patrol perimeter to lengths well away from the player, making the game all that more unpredictable and chaotic.
first game i played where i actually was stressed. sometimes i'd have to pause and get up and walk around. take a break. watch something funny just to keep my chest from hurting.
Awww hell nahh thosere some intense moments toward the end there ha... Also I only found out recently but THE VENTS ARENT SAFE! The xenomorph can enter there like DAMN WHAT??? Hoo this game is stressful
Fun fact : The alien can actually kill you in the cutscene due to it being live and not pre-rendered, so sometimes the alien's tail can go a bit off course and accidentally touch you. (Which triggers the alien and makes her kill you.)
Oh wow, that's just unfair, but realistic. I'm always flabbergasted how she got away with that little scream not being heard and the tail practically going across her, when at all other times these would get u murdered on sight when you're THAT nearby! 😅
I love the passion to put all your close calls into a neat lil video! This is one of my favourite games of all time, and i recently replayed it too! Hope you had fun with it!
So basically alien drops from roof really really slowly.. guys hides underneath something ... then alien walks in opposite direction...looks kinda cosy underneath that table may as well get some sleep
Sometimes alien sounds like a cat wgen he saw you but didn't attack but just got suspected you there. I wonder if this sound effect "Pssssss" was got from cat
Knowing that 99% of this is unscripted and it is just trying to find/kill you makes it so much more terrifying.
It’s very fun that your experience can change each time!
Truly one of the most horrifying games out there
Loved it! Just finished today!

@@ChristmasCarolyn It's a slim chance, but it does happen! Always removed the security of "It's just a cutscene so I'm fine" feeling for me.
Is there any footage of this happening?
After watching Alien: Romulus and then seeing Alien Isolation, people saying that Fede Alvarez took "inspiration" from the game is an understatement.
