    In this video I go over all the Kobalt 24V blowers, from the gen # 1 to the new one, and the smaller shop blower.
    The gen #1 had 410 C.F.M
    the smaller shop blower had about 300 C.F.M.
    and the new one has 500 C.F.M. so stick around until the end and see what they can do.

    Nice video and review my brother. And like I thought. After seeing this video you made me go out and spend more money. Haha. But the deal they have going right now includes 2 of the 4 ah batteries and charger and blower for 140. I figure the batteries are $100. So I’m getting the new blower and charger for $40. I’ll take that deal. And I did. Thanks for the review. Hope you and family are safe and all goes well with the new little one. Cheers.

      I know it’s a bit later, but last week I got a 24v whacker kit! It came with the weed whacker, a charger, and 2 (yes 2) 4 ah batteries for $60. Saw a two 4 ah batter pack (+free charger) on sale for $120 the next day.

    There's a reason why the tip is what it is. Restricting it hurts the battery life, the motor, or doesn't make a difference etc. Companies of Kobalt's size will do anything to get more out of a product at a given price. Slightly changing a mold to restrict airflow a bit has surely been tested to death.

    • @nate2838
      @nate2838 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While true, that doesn't mean that the "tested to death" design they chose is the design that is ideal for you in a particular situation. The one they went with is likely designed for an average user during their normal application. There are situations you want nice broad coverage, and others where you want it narrower or focused into a blade of air to push debris like sticks instead of a pile of leaves.

    As an engineer I would recommend NOT getting and using that narrower tip. All things being equal, a narrowed tip will increase the velocity of the air (raise the mph) at the output since in order to get that same volume through a smaller aperture requires that the air moves faster. But in reality all things are not equal. Did you hear that higher pitch whining of the motor? That's because that narrower tip creates a restriction on the air flow that puts back-pressure on the blower motor. The high-pitch is the motor crying out that it's having to do more work to turn the propeller. Which in turns lowers the volume flow (cfm) so you're not really getting the velocity boost out the end anyway. That's why the guy noticed no real improvement. All you're doing is straining the motor, causing more wear and tear and shortening the life of the tool.

      @jimcooke2552 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As an engineer I concur. To put it simply, if you restrict the intake or exhaust of a fan it will drastically reduce the life of the motor.

  • @AntonioClaudioMichael

    Surprising that gen 1 blows less then gen 2 the gen one has the smaller tube should boost the output but if motor can't keep up that would make sense even though gen 2 had the bigger nozzle

    I'm shopping for a leaf blower and Lowe's has this now for $139 and right now it comes with an extra battery (2 total), but the sales guy said only for the current batch he thinks. Then it will be back to 1 battery in the box. So, that seems like a good deal, especially if you would need the blower for larger areas or just to have a 2nd battery particularly if you also use other Kobalt 24V system tools. (Kobalt is Lowe's house brand, btw. Seems to be decent quality from what I can tell from these videos.) Haven't finalized my shopping yet. Need to go to Home Depot and Harbor Freight tomorrow !

    • @Impact-OG
      @Impact-OG  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to order online to get 2 batteries, they ones in the store only has 1 battery in the box. If your on a budget you can't beat the price. Thanks for watching

    • @rhmayer1
      @rhmayer1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Impact-OG Hmm. From the photo I took of the box, it says "BONUS Free additional 4AH battery included." But maybe they just give you a code inside that, like you say, allows you to order the 2nd battery for free online. Anyway, thanks for the reply (and the video)!

    • @rhmayer1
      @rhmayer1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Impact-OG Follow up: I ended up purchasing the Kobalt 24V with 2 batteries deal at Lowe's. It was definitely the best deal compared to lots of choices at Home Depot (better ones available, but for $200) and Harbor Freight. Harbor Freight has a nice deal/program, though. You can pay $12 extra for a 1 year replacement guarantee or $16 for 2 years. The manager said that you can then bring their leaf blower back at the end of the period and trade it in for a brand new one - even if there's nothing wrong with it. You're just obligated to pay another $12 or $16 again for another 1 or 2 year guarantee. But if you can perpetually get a brand new one for $12/yr or $16/2 yrs that's a good deal, since it seems they often improve them every year. But I went with the Kobalt because it was lighter and still less expensive than the competitive 40V Atlas model and there are more other tools in the Kobalt 24V family of tools to "grow" with. Even with the lighter Kobalt, it still tires your arm a bit just from the backwards-propulsion from the powerful blower - just to keep it directed and pointed forward at your target area, so I'm definitely glad I got the lighter unit.
      Also, that free extra battery did indeed come in the box. It turns out the deal is $149 if you get a box with 2 batteries (available online as well, if your local store is out), and not $139. But for $10 extra that's still a great deal. They gave it to me for $139 because the original sales guy (mistakenly) told me it was the same price as the others while they lasted.
      I've now used it a few times and I'm very happy with it. It's pushes a LOT of air and sweeps off the leaves and clumped needles on my flat-top roof well, even if they're still damp. That extra battery is worth it since the blower lasts only about 15 minutes if you're blowing continually at high speed + using the turbo boost occasionally. (Nice to bring that back-up battery up on the roof with me so I don't have to interrupt the job.) Doubtful any other ground-level use would need more than one battery charge. So for me it works very well. Cheers!
