It’s not about flipping his voice from high to low and he certainly doesn’t show off. This young man is a multi instrumentalist, composer and sings in 15 different languages. He’s been singing since the age of 5 and was classically trained. He turned down a position with a prestigious opera company to do his own thing. He sings ALL genres of music including rap. Hopefully if you dig a bit deeper you will see for yourself what an extraordinary talented and exceptional human being he is. Greetings from London ❤

Ave Maria is a very special song, but it only shows a fraction of Dimash's abilities, as you must have noticed by now. Dimash has a range of 7+ octaves. I don't know how many octaves Marcelito has, but I don't think the two are really comparable. But it doesn't matter, because in my opinion art should not be a competition.

I agree that Dimash had some advantages in having musical parents and a good education but we also have to remember that he had a number of disadvantages too, a vocal range that was considered so freakish in his own country that he was forced to leave for another country to gain acceptance for his talent. Yes there were some that considered him brilliant but it was really only when he started gaining worldwide fame that he was adopted as the Kazakh brand that he is now. Even by the Almaty concert, Kazakhs who were going were teased by their friends and workmates as in general they still prefer to listen to American pop music.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. Dimash does not show off exactly. He gives it his all and he does it in every single performance. If you see him off stage you are going to encounter a very humble and appreciative person. He is always very kind, very respectful and he has never taken credit for his singing ability but gives credit first to God, then to his grandparents, his parents, teachers and fans. Subscribing for more Dimash-- thanks for giving him a second chance , even though you thought he was "showing off" in the (as yet unseen) Ave Maria video. Dimash always says " I will try my best." His "best" is being the greatest vocalist on Earth. So, perhaps you can consider the way you might respond if you saw an Olympic gold medalist or, say, an all-time top winner on Jeopardy. I doubt you would call their winning performances "showing off, " but you likely would recognize them as "doing their best." Just wanted to put that thought out there for your consideration. It was meant to represent how easily he made the performance look, something that only people with immense skills and talent are able to do. Perhaps Ave Maria was not the right song to start with. Dimash does occasionally show off during his live concerts, when it's appropriate. He never shows off when it's not appropriate. Igor Krutoy composed that particular Ave Maria for Dimash at Dimash's request...it's a serious prayer that everyone across the world can understand, without language. The compassion that Dimash portrays through this prayer is so beautiful it has brought many to tears. When you've listened to more of his music you'll understand him better. He was brought to the World's attention in 2017 through a televised singing competition for PROFESSIONALS in China called Singer. It's an amazing competition that should not be considered with the likes of other competitions for amateurs. This contest has live orchestra, live band, live backing vocalists and competitors singing live...mindblowing and only in China as far as I know. I think you don’t understand Dimash’s world, where he came from, where he’s at now, the competitions through the years when he competed against female singers and his operetic duos and duets with female singers and that many male opera singers sing soprano but here Dimash does the unheard of for a male singer he sings metso soprano. Dimashs professionally trained operetic singing parents put him on stage at 2 years old. At 5 years old finding out he had perfect pitch he was put in the academy of music at the university. At 5 he also won his first piano contest. Dimashs mother and vocal coaches trained his soprano voice through puberty so he kept it. Imagine the young boys at the time having the same attitude about dimashs soprano voice at that age. Dimash has between a 7 and 8octave voice. That means he can’t do any song written for other singers to properly use his extraordinary talent. Dimash didn’t write this version of Ave Maria, Igor krutoy at the piano composed it for him. A woman sang dimashs version but it sounded choppy - Why? Because Dimash doesn’t breathe have the time and his mouth never closes. Any singer doing this would get lockjaw and would have to see a doctor. The song Ave Maria an aria was written by Shubert in the 18 venerating the Virgin Mary. Dimash is Muslim having no Virgin Mary in his religeon. Igor is Jewish not celebrating this Christian character or Jesus. My guess is that Dimash through the years had been asked to sing this aria but didn’t believe in the Virgin Mary. He went to Igor and asked igor to compose an ave Mariah for him. It was not like Shubert as in opera arias Melodie’s can be changed. So Dimash and Igor made it a vocalise. You say Dimash showed off here. Do you mean the genre opera shows off? Opera is just “one” of many genres Dimash sings in and he’s created some too. He doesn’t have to excuse his range of octaves to someone accusing him of showing off by singing any genre in any musical register his voice is capable. Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. Yes, the wide vocal range has been perfected by quite a few from Eastern countries, although Dimash is the best vocalist on the Planet. You should try "Sinful Passion". Can I suggest Chinese singer Hua Chenyu doing "Nunchucks" (not in my Top 50 Hua Chenyu Performances, but fun intro). Hua Chenyu came 2nd in Singer 2018. Jessie J won Singer 2018. Dimash came 2nd the previous year. Think you mean Diana Ankudinova for Russian girl. Genuinely so many spectacular performers in the East.

It’s not about flipping his voice from high to low and he certainly doesn’t show off. This young man is a multi instrumentalist, composer and sings in 15 different languages. He’s been singing since the age of 5 and was classically trained. He turned down a position with a prestigious opera company to do his own thing. He sings ALL genres of music including rap. I admire Marcelito P greatly because he didn't have the advantages that DIMASH had. But it's not just that DIMASH'S range is greater. It is his dedication to excellence, musical prowess, dedication to preserve and promote folk music and his humanitarian endeavors. ❤
I agree that Dimash had some advantages in having musical parents and a good education but we also have to remember that he had a number of disadvantages too, a vocal range that was considered so freakish in his own country that he was forced to leave for another country to gain acceptance for his talent. Yes there were some that considered him brilliant but it was really only when he started gaining worldwide fame that he was adopted as the Kazakh brand that he is now.
Even by the Almaty concert, Kazakhs who were going were teased by their friends and workmates as in general they still prefer to listen to American pop music.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. Dimash does not show off exactly. He gives it his all and he does it in every single performance. If you see him off stage you are going to encounter a very humble and appreciative person. Subscribing for more Dimash-- thanks for giving him a second chance , even though you thought he was "showing off" in the (as yet unseen) Ave Maria video. Dimash always says " I will try my best." His "best" is being the greatest vocalist on Earth.
So, perhaps you can consider the way you might respond if you saw an Olympic gold medalist or, say, an all-time top winner on Jeopardy. I doubt you would call their winning performances "showing off, " but you likely would recognize them as "doing their best." Just wanted to put that thought out there for your consideration.

It was meant to represent how easily he made the performance look, something that only people with immense skills and talent are able to do. Perhaps Ave Maria was not the right song to start with. Dimash does occasionally show off during his live concerts, when it's appropriate. He never shows off when it's not appropriate. Igor Krutoy composed that particular Ave Maria for Dimash at Dimash's request...it's a serious prayer that everyone across the world can understand, without language. The compassion that Dimash portrays through this prayer is so beautiful it has brought many to tears. When you've listened to more of his music you'll understand him better. He was brought to the World's attention in 2017 through a televised singing competition for PROFESSIONALS in China called Singer. It's an amazing competition that should not be considered with the likes of other competitions for amateurs. This contest has live orchestra, live band, live backing vocalists and competitors singing live...mindblowing and only in China as far as I know. I've discovered him after keep popping his name at people doing reactions to him, and since then I became his fan! I think you don’t understand Dimash’s world, where he came from, where he’s at now, the competitions through the years when he competed against female singers and his operetic duos and duets with female singers and that many male opera singers sing soprano but here Dimash does the unheard of for a male singer he sings metso soprano. Dimashs professionally trained operetic singing parents put him on stage at 2 years old. At 5 years old finding out he had perfect pitch he was put in the academy of music at the university. At 5 he also won his first piano contest. Dimashs mother and vocal coaches trained his soprano voice through puberty so he kept it. Imagine the young boys at the time having the same attitude about dimashs soprano voice at that age. Dimash has between a 7 and 8octave voice. That means he can’t do any song written for other singers to properly use his extraordinary talent. Dimash didn’t write this version of Ave Maria, Igor krutoy at the piano composed it for him. A woman sang dimashs version but it sounded choppy - Why? Because Dimash doesn’t breathe have the time and his mouth never closes. Any singer doing this would get lockjaw and would have to see a doctor. The song Ave Maria an aria was written by Shubert in the 18 venerating the Virgin Mary. Dimash is Muslim having no Virgin Mary in his religeon. Igor is Jewish not celebrating this Christian character or Jesus. My guess is that Dimash through the years had been asked to sing this aria but didn’t believe in the Virgin Mary. He went to Igor and asked igor to compose an ave Mariah for him. It was not like Shubert as in opera arias Melodie’s can be changed. So Dimash and Igor made it a vocalise. You say Dimash showed off here. Do you mean the genre opera shows off? Opera is just “one” of many genres Dimash sings in and he’s created some too. He doesn’t have to excuse his range of octaves to someone accusing him of showing off by singing any genre in any musical register his voice is capable. We don’t say Mariah Carey is a show off and we can’t say Dimash is a show off because he is a male using his metso soprano register. He worked for many years to bless us with this universal Ave Maria a song for only Christian’s that now can be enjoyed by all faiths.

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

Maybe Dimash should ignore the 7-octave voice range and sing like most singers in the 2-3 octave range... lest some people think he's showing off... his talent, exceptional vocal capabilities and hard work make him exceptional.. .Dimash is not for everyone, so don't discount his quality - get to know him and maybe you'll learn to appreciate him

Can I suggest Chinese singer Hua Chenyu doing "Nunchucks" (not in my Top 50 Hua Chenyu Performances, but fun intro). Hua Chenyu came 2nd in Singer 2018. Jessie J won Singer 2018. Dimash came 2nd the previous year. Think you mean Diana Ankudinova for Russian girl. Genuinely so many spectacular performers in the East.

Please do not compare Marcelito Pomoy, a mimic of Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, to Dimash who mimics no one. To this day we have never heard Marcelito's true voice and don't know if he can sing a song without imitating other singer's voices. Dimash sings with his very unique voice and artistry which no one, including Marcelito, can imitate.
Don't get me wrong. Marcelito is a wonderful mimic of Celine and Andrea. He imitates these two singers perfectly. If you didn't know it was Marcelito singing, you would swear it was Celine or Andrea singing their duet it's so spot on.
