They changed cakewalk radically. I can't find any way to get TH3 to appear. There is no longer any way to add effects to the track as you did. I did find that by choosing the amplifier preset instead of a default blank project, it created a project with 6 tracks already set with amp effects such as overdrive, reverb and delay. I can record and get stems easily on these tracks, or I can record clean sounds in a blank project. I can see TH3 is enabled in the plugin manager but as far as I can tell there is no way to get any kind of TH3 window to appear in cakewalk.
I don't understand why but Cakewalk refuses to work on my computer. It crashes with "not responding" messages the minute I boot it up. Tried two fresh installs already and still no luck. It handles Reaper just fine 🤔

Okay, so now I can get the virtual amp to play through the headphones connected to the pc. But any other sounds coming from my pc can't be played through my headphones for some reason.. Edit: I didn't realise there were 2 different applications. I started VoiceMeeter instead of VoiceMeeter Banana. Now it works. But it has a bit too much latency for playing guitar..
Help! is it possible to do this with Xenyx 302USB wich is almost the same except the part where you plug the guitar. I would need to plug the guitar in the big Mic In whole. Would it work? Also, as soon as I open the cakewalk my windows sound just shuts down. Thanks
Hi Man thanks for this video. So what if you would want to output the sound of this sofware to FX loop of your Cabinet AMP... I own 50W amp that has FX send and return so I have connected L unbalanced output of my USB interface to FX return and I can hear my guitar with various FX sounds coming from the software but its not 1:1 like in headphones ... I think it sounds like the treble is missing.
I use an ibanez electric guitar with behringer um2 and guitar rig 5. I get a lot of noise when using distortion effects. Can someone please suggest me what to do?
mute unused strings with both hands, carefully and fast move your left hand to avoid scratches on gliding etc. Or do you mean noise when you are not playing? Try to turn guitar volume off to 0. If noise hasn't gone, the reason is your cable. If it has - it's a guitar noises and you probably need shielding

where it says 'arranger' theres a plus sign in the same box. Above that is another box with a small arrow. Click it, select 'random' and now fx should be there. Hope this helps.

I suppose it's because the UM2 doesn't get enough power from my pc, but for you and others it works, are you doing something else that helps it? Or could mine just be faulty...
You need to make sure you're plugging into an instrument input instead of a line input (with the preamp). The instrument input will sound better with a guitar than a line input. If you don't have an instrument input, you need a direct box. Otherwise, on it's own, it's just a clean guitar signal so you need amp simulation as well.

So I plugged my guitar into my real amp and from it to the behringer(tried it directly to the pc with 6.3 to 3.5 as well) and the sound was a little bit cleaner but still not as clean as the amp itself. So idk, can't find anyone with the same problems. Maybe I just need a physical modelling amp instead...
You can't watch a youtube or any audio generating things when you have your DAW opened , because the asio drivers of your interface is using your interface at the moment. At the same time your browser is using drivers like realtek or anything other than asio drivers for generating audio output. Your can't use 2 different drivers to run an audio interface at the same time. You can get the audio from your daw and your browser at the same time if you use your interface as output for your daw and the build in audio jack for browser audio playback or you can use windows drivers as the default output in your daw as the output for both your daw and your media playback ,but there is no point of having an interface if you use windows drivers as default audio device. Windows driver sucks for audio production.
Are you sure you have realtime monitoring turned on for your guitar track? Otherwise you may be hearing the clean guitar through the audio interface and not the DAW. What happens when you play it back after recording, do you hear the amp simulation then?
Did you try turning on monitoring? Did you set the UM2 as your output device in sound settings? Are all the knobs turned up? Is the Direct Monitor switch turned on?
If you turn on monitoring in your DAW you should hear effects, BUT there might be latency. If you turn it on from your interface you'll hear the dry signal but with very little (almost no) latency.
ive been trying to get my guitar recording to work properly since i just got my first interface for months now, ive looked at countless guides and i still csnt get it to work just right, there is always this crackling and glitchy sound no matter how low or high the volume is. I would really like it if you and me could mayne get a one on one to help me get this fixed. Ill honestly pay you if thats what it takes to fix this, its really bothersum. Thanks in advance
Start by making sure you’re using the ASIO4ALL driver. Google it and install it. From there, make sure your software is set to ASIO mode for the hardware driver, then select ASIO4ALL. If you’ve already done that, try increasing the buffer size in ASIO4ALL.

For some reason my interface doesn't light up the power led when I connect it to my laptop. Can anyone please help?
What if I want to record with a backing track?
Just import the backing track to your project and add it to another track.

or turn down the gain on your settings
