Love the cameo of your cat at the end, he's huge! The last time I bought the Victoriana was $115 two years ago, solid buy at that price. Agree once it starts pushing over $140 the value proposition loses its luster.
I have a 51.5% bottle that I paid about $150 for, in fall 2020, in Alberta. It didn't wow me at first, but with a few months of having the level of the whisky go down, it really impresses me a lot. It's right up with the Glen Scotia 15 YO. I had a dram of Victoriana last night, and I think I'll have another tonight.
I really liked this review. I loved the 51.5% and ended up with 2 bottles that I got with finedrams close out for 58euros then an online mistake here in the US ihave ended up with 2 more bottles of the 54.2% for $68 each. At first I could only say that it was not the 51.5% but now that I've gotten past the neck pour and it has had some time to open up....oh my, this is really great whisky that I've gotten really great deals on. It's $89 where I am right now but....as you said, I've got some heavily peated Islay that I love as well. I definitely believe we are currently in a "Golden Age" of whisky! The MALTYVERSE is defintely expanding and what a time to be in touch with this wonderful life enhancing beverage.
Got the 54.2% for $100 at the SAQ and it was the best value buy for me in 2020 - just kept getting better with time and the last pour was just as good as the peak. Had it open at same time as 15 and enjoyed this one more - nicer fruit elements, viscosity and complexity compared to the 15
I absolutely love the 15 which is great value at under £50. I paid around £55 for this and really enjoyed it. They say it's made in an old fashioned way which is probably just marketing, but at 54.2% maybe it has a lower barrel entry ABV. I still think the 15 is their best whisky within my budget. Great review Jeremy.
I got the same release, 54.2% it's like all the flavors are turned up to 11!The only other bottle of glenscotia I have is the double cask, which I actually really liked aswell for a NAS, it's much more simple and chill though at 46%
Recently ordered my first Victoriana. 51.5% is the release I got. Everything Glen Scotia i have had so far has been great so looking forward to trying it.Love the Kitty photo bomb at the end!!! Cheers Jeremy
I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle! I have maybe one dram left in the bottle and I’m not at home at the moment so I can’t be sure if it’s the same version as yours. I do recall though not paying 145 for it so I must’ve picked it up a couple years ago because I’m pretty sure it was closer to the $120 mark. I was blown away at how well integrated everything was and for there being no need to add even a drop of water. I found it drank exceptionally well neat and would recommend this bottle to anyone. So glad to hear your remarks on it are very close to mine.
Picked it up on a whim at LCBO for $98....for that price it blew me away! It got better, the lower the bottle got, and when it was down to the last couple of drams I put away a couple of samples thinking "I gotta get this to Jeremy and Rob somehow, can't believe they haven't tried it!" A few weeks went by and you opened the bottle on the Rant😉. All's good, better late than never! I only wish I would have picked up some backups.... Cheers!
I love nearly everything from Glen Scotia, including Victoriana. If I ranked every expression I've tried from them, this would be near the bottom, but that's not really saying anything. It's lemon, it's funky, and it's milk-chocolatey. Vanilla, nuts, slight smoke, malty. Just delicious for a NAS from a great distillery.
@@SippersSocialClub I've only had a SINGLE dram of the 25 as a lucky sample I got. It was my favorite, but without that in the mix, the 15 is just so beautiful.
These were at the LCBO for $98.55, 54.2%. I remember looking at the bottle on the shelf and passing on it. By the time the hype showed up they were gone.
@@SippersSocialClub Yeah, looks like CC just raised the price $30 to $162 in the last day or two. SAQ is claiming $88.75 with some "coming soon" and good ole Onterrible will never get it back in now that it is desirable, guess that's their policy! Cheers and...nice cat.

The 15 is excellent as well!

People in the comments are saying they find the 15 for $40. Crazy good value
I've had the 2020 and the 2019 Glen Scotia Victoriana and it's one of the few bottles Ive bought extra just to bunker so I'll always have on hand.

Nice, cheers Rob!
The kitty!! A cameo appearance!!! Absolutely love that! Cheers!!!
He's a good dude :)

That's a great price, especially for LCBO standards!
In Québec it was 99,25$. It took a while for the word to spread about the quality of this whiskey, but once it did, they flew off the shelfs.

What's your favorite Scotia so far?

Just bought a bottle of the Glen Scotia 15 yesterday. Amazing whisky, got it for 37 USD... Going back to by another bottle today.
That's insane value!
For that price i would take a case :)

I think Rob got his at the SAQ for just over $100. I see some Alberta shops have it at $165 now... Yikes

Oops it's the 15 that SAQ is getting in for $88.75, NO Victoriana.
I prefer the 15 yr old... much more balanced and less eratic . I appreciate your thoughts and sincerity. Cheers , SF
The 15 is a great bottle. I found the 12 more complex but would be very content with both. Do you like the 18?
This one is a fav of mine. Yeah your cost is high on that one, I got it for 75 USD and I can get the 18 for 110 USD. Great review, Cheers.
I hear some people finding the 15 for $40!
I did enjoy the Victoriana but it's not a patch on the 15 for me. The ABV really came through as hot on this, or at least in the bottle I tried.
It had to open up a little for me
Hi Jeremy
Glen Scotia victoriana, 91 points !!!!
Huge score :)
Even Ralfy who doesn’t review NAS single malts was impressed with this and that shows how good this is. Nice review
Yes, and he secretly gave it a huge score too!
Will be after this
