Picked up a dusty 2019 Batch 2 of this last summer, rolled in at 54.2%...
Found it to be very industrial, heavy, incredibly fragrant. Notes of a mechanic's shop...oil, grease. Light sweet BBQ char.
This whisky is, quite simply, a beautiful thing.
Enjoyed your review, was interesting to note the differences.
    Cheers boys! 🥃🥃

Big tobacco flavor for sure, especially on the finish. I have the 54.2 abv bottling.

I wonder what Bart had for b’fast, can’t smoke taste, can’t straight talk… wait, who am I to talk, I just had a leftover pork chop for b’fast that Aimee and her mom call steak. I get what you mean about being smoke blind. I put sweet smoked paprika in so many things I cook, I’m almost always reaching for a Peated whisky… it gets hard to find it for me when it’s subtle. I do love this dram though. Bought a bottle after having a sample, just need to get around to opening it. Great to see Scott getting his groove back. Cheers guys 🥃

Guys, bought my first bottle about a month ago and finished in 2 weeks. Really enjoying this baby. I do get nice, thick mouth coating and long finish like Scott. Loads of flavors and Campbeltown funkiness. Maybe I had the Covid? Second bottle just arrived, also at 51.5% ABV. Great scotch to follow your ECBP review. CHEERS!!

Many have said this is fantastic. It was good to hear your thoughts and thanks for keeping it light with "Buddy" banter. Cheers!

Ralfy just reviewed it on June 1, 2021. He doesn't score NAS whisky, but said it was fantastic. Beautiful blending of young and old whisky.

Haven’t tried this version yet. Huge fan of the GS 15… might be the best value in 12-18 year range on the shelf IMHO.

We need to try the 15

WhiskyFriend rates the GS15 as a fraction better than Springbank 15.

@@DavidUKesb I got my hands on Victoriana. The Glen Scotia 15 is not only better to my pallate but also about 70% of the price... at least in my location.

I was lucky enough to pick up the bottle for 80 bucks, and regretting not getting second one immediately. Price is definitely went up, great drum very enjoyable and very tall)))))))))

I believe there are batch variations on this one, I haven’t had the 51,5%, but I have had the 54,8% and the 54,2%. A lot of maple syrup on the 54,8. My favorite is the 54,2 though, it is barrel char galore. Sweet, fudgy, with lovely vanilla and also some dried fruits. Add to that some sea spray and smoke, and a black burned log dipped in sweetness. It is awesome.

The first edition (several years ago when Glen Scotia began the come back) was superb. The current edition is ~ 88 to 89.

The newer version is at 54.2% ABV. and I loved it. They say it's made in the way whisky used to be made in Victorian times, but who knows really?. I also think that a good 'pink cigar/pink oboe' joke restores balance to the force so well done boys!.

I love this one. 88 is too low Bart! You need a redo.

Unless it’s blood water (diamonds) they’re selling I’m not watching for research. I only care about the banter, when I’ll be able stop trusting Bart lol, and if it the whisky’s worth checking out. Also, class of 2000 rules! However, I too love John Hughes movie lol. Cheers!

I think you can start scoring your dram because you're tasting more than Bart at times
