Many think Riku is the child of destiny because of the parallels to Xehanort he has and how he was the first chosen for the kingdom key. Also, it was Riku's words that gave Sora the strength to do what he did. Also, his actions are what allowed Kairi to be the guiding light Sora needed to get back. Sora will probably inherit one of the 7 crowns that the MOM mentions though, not cause he has been chosen or anything, but because of his hard work and strength of his heart. If Riku wasn't born then it would probably have been Sora who was the child of destiny though

It's interesting that the fear of darkness taking over through a war drove people to send a child to destiny islands in hopes that they would grow up and save everyone by being whats predicted as the child of destiny, but inadvertently caused the war in the first place by said child growing up and starting the war. 💀

I don’t know if you noticed that Luxu (43:07) realizes that Xehanort isn’t actually the chosen one, but he could still be useful to him, because in reality the chosen one would be born 10 years later, Sora. Also MoM called him a “singularity” because he wasn’t supposed to either exist or have those kind of powers and to deal with this singularity that may go against his grand plan he meddled with him giving him the coat, talked to him and stuff. The fact that he never showed up in the series except for that moment makes me come to that conclusion. I guess Xehanort was a flaw in mom’s plan that came up because Luxu didn’t “just watch” but also intervened, so mom showed up, made Xehanort the villain making Sora sacrifice himself to later send him in the world of fiction to complete the goal, so that he would deal with the flaw and still make Sora go where he’s supposed to go
45? I thought it was more like 60 considering in Re:Mind it says "75 years later" between Young Xehanort meeting the MoM and the final Keyblade War at the Keyblade Graveyard during the events of KH3
Xehanort gets taken to and raised on the Destiny Islands to see if he's the chosen one who will defeat the darkness. But instead the two kids who really are slated to defeat darkness were actually born there decades later without interference. Almost like this is a partial lesson on trying to force fate's hand is an effort in futility. It also means you might make an old man grow up to traumatize a bunch of very good kids who literally did nothing wrong but I digress lolol
Tbf, the whole thing started with MoM setting everything in motion. Everything points to him wanting the war to happen so why not set everything up so xehanort does become the big bad so that sora, who MoM knows is the child of destiny gets to where MoM needs him to be centuries down the line.
Well the issue with your interpretation is that Player was setting Xehanort up to fail intentionally, Player knew Xehanort actually hailed from Scala and not DI but took h8m there when he was too young to remember and told him he was the child of destiny
I feel like i have theories now that 1. Bragi is just Braig being changed by Luxu because yea Bragi is supposed to be dead. Or 2. Luxu just moves on and gets on some random Radiant Garden guard
Man, that last cutscene is really both wholesome and tragic. It left to the impression that Xehanort is destined for greatness only to be on the road to who he will be in the future. To me, Xenhonort is supposed to be the biggest butts of villains yet he never was darkness to begin with, considering that he is light regardless. Want proof? His death in BBS and 3 said so.

The Child of Destiny makes me super emotional for some reason. I don't know why, but it's probably partly because Dearly Beloved is playing the whole time, hehe I can't wait to see the future of KH from here on!

And Nomura has said multiple times that one of the core aspects of Sora's character is that he isn't special. He's just a normal boy you could find anywhere. He said "i wanted Sora to be a character that the player could take onto themselves, to realize that you don't have to be special, but connect with many people and you will realize your full potential". I don't think Nomura would change something like that. I personally think it's going to be Riku. Dearly Beloved is the connection between him and Sora so that song still fits. Ephemer could still be Eraqus' ancestor too. In the update they made the timeline more ambiguous. The theory is that he is the descendent of Brain, but Brain could've married a different descendent of Ephemer. Hell, for all we know Xehanort and Eraqus could be cousins.
I always will think that Xehanort had potential to be the Child of Destiny, but it was always Sora. It’s like with the Kwisatz Haderach in Dune. Paul was assumed to be one and practically proved it, but since he was one generation behind and was unable to follow The Golden Path, he failed. His kid, Leto II was the true Kwisatz Haderach and followed through with The Golden Path even with Paul trying to stop him. Xehanort had potential, he practically ticked off all the markers, but was overcome with Darkness and had a warped view of helping the worlds. Sora can connect with practically everyone and understand their pain. He knows what to do to help people, but is sometimes misguided by the idea of light overcoming darkness.
So I just watched your whole kingdom hearts playlist and I just gotta say your reactions are everything. I've been playing the games since like. 2009ish and I forgot how absolutely wild some of the reveals were and how earth shattering they were. Watching you find these out made me remember how blown away we all were back in the day. I love this so much! You're lovely and your love and excitement for this series is so contagious.

I love that at 2:10 Xehanorts armour is the Xehanort armour you fight twice at the end of KH2 on that white dragon castle boss. Love those attention even in the early games.
I’m fairly new here but between you and VioletPermanent, I been binging both of y’all KH content and it’s been an amazing and interesting experience watching the different perspectives from you two. I grew with the series and you both have pointed out things that I didn’t even realize. Anyways, all this to say it always excites and warms my heart whenever I see a newcomer to the series experience the up and downs and all the characters’ development all to eventually fall in love with it like I did! I hope to see more KH content from both of you in the future!

It's crazy to think young Xehanort was suspected to be the child of destiny that was in the book of prophecies. But it shows how you can go off path (kinda like Riku as an example) and so the child of destiny was actually Sora years later. So the prophecy did come true

Xehanort's name just being an anagram of "No Heart X" seems a lot weirder now that the story is trying to put more depth to his character than just "that super evil guy" that I think he was originally meant to be.
I think that with how much Union X and Dark Road explore more lore and lineage of the characters, it is only a matter of time before we see why Sora is so important and who he is connected to via the ancient masters. I think we're all in for a bait. I know most people think Sora will be connected via MoM but it might end up being someone like Ava.
I'm noticing the kids of this game are named after the Norse figures. Also, kind of ironic the one who made Xenahort fall into the dark road of what he become and the person who let themselves be consumed by shadows whould be name after the God of Light in Norse Mythology, Baldr.
Crazy how Xenort is descended from Ephimer and Erickas is descended from possibly Brain. Also I think I saw Nomura confirmed that's not Skuld who is Xenorts mother, but is from from her bloodline. They said it should be explained in missing link.
It is my belief, that it is implied with DR's ending, Sora is the 3rd life of the Player Character which is mindblowing (and ironic? maybe not the right word). Everything Blue Robe mentioned about the child of destiny, Sora fits all that, thanks to ReMind. And more evidence: Ephemer shows up to lend Sora a hand, like an old friend would, as Eraqus says "help from the past" a past friendship perhaps. Coincidence!? I THINK NOT!
Theory right now is that the grandfather Eraqus talks about is Brain, but we'll see what Missing Link gives us (HYPEHYPEHYPE) This makes their fight like a 100 times worse ;o; KHDR is all tears ;o;
I have a theory that like Luxu, the Masters of Master is in KH since at least KH2. I just can't believe he/she would let Luxu act as he likes without being watched over himself. I think of Demyx who would be a good candidate but I don't know why but since KH2, i think that Tetsuya Nomura is not developing Kairi that much on purpose. She is the trigger of Sora's journey but her role mainly stays there since KH1 and I don't buy that at all. Nomura knows what he is doing with his characters so I kinda think she will have a bigger role in the whole story he wants to tell.

For the MoM, i hesitate between a older version of Sora and Demyx. But I am sure MoM is there for a long time as a character we don't suspect.
The Master is male, there's no doubt about that. As for Demyx, there's so much support for the theory, I can't help but think the same. The obvious being their personalities match up perfectly. And when you think about it, both Demyx and the master participate in recon over combat. They sit back, watching and waiting. Also isn't it strange how compared to both the original Org 13 and the true Org 13, Demyx is the only one we know virtually nothing about other than he is from the UX time period? Also in a conversation between the master and Xehanort, Xehanort discusses the exam and how does the master respond? "Ugh, sounds like work." VERY DEMYX.
Is the darkness itself its own entity? The more i think about it, the more it feels like either someone was the origin of evil or the darkness is just trying to destroy reality and that someone of light had to save everyone but for some reason this time paradoxes made this reality continuously happen. All that was meant to be or had had to be. It is interesting. Which means even Eraqus friend X just wasn't totally evil too. It's like a vicious cycle of betrayal and control but the light is still fighting the good fight

Xehanort saw his friends die before his eyes and fell to darkness. Had Sora not been able to use the power of waking to get his friends back, would he have done the same?

Honestly something about seeing Claude from Fire Emblem in this as an original character (do not steal) and everyone reacting to that is gold.

Anyways, all this to say it always excites and warms my heart whenever I see a newcomer to the series experience the up and downs and all the characters’ development all to eventually fall in love with it like I did! I hope to see more KH content from both of you in the future!

It's crazy to think young Xehanort was suspected to be the child of destiny that was in the book of prophecies. But it shows how you can go off path (kinda like Riku as an example) and so the child of destiny was actually Sora years later. So the prophecy did come true

Xehanort's name just being an anagram of "No Heart X" seems a lot weirder now that the story is trying to put more depth to his character than just "that super evil guy" that I think he was originally meant to be.
It’s also an anagram of “Another X”
If you pay close attention, Hades looks confused after the portal of darkness opened. Implying he wasn't the one that created it.
I think that with how much Union X and Dark Road explore more lore and lineage of the characters, it is only a matter of time before we see why Sora is so important and who he is connected to via the ancient masters. I think we're all in for a bait. I know most people think Sora will be connected via MoM but it might end up being someone like Ava.

Crazy how Xenort is descended from Ephimer and Erickas is descended from possibly Brain. Also I think I saw Nomura confirmed that's not Skuld who is Xenorts mother, but is from from her bloodline. They said it should be explained in missing link.

It is my belief, that it is implied with DR's ending, Sora is the 3rd life of the Player Character which is mindblowing (and ironic? maybe not the right word). Everything Blue Robe mentioned about the child of destiny, Sora fits all that, thanks to ReMind. And more evidence: Ephemer shows up to lend Sora a hand, like an old friend would, as Eraqus says "help from the past" a past friendship perhaps. Coincidence!? I THINK NOT!
Brain and Eraqus look alike so I’m pretty sure he’s descended from him, but it was huge surprise to find out xehanort was related to ephemer

I have a theory that like Luxu, the Masters of Master is in KH since at least KH2. I just can't believe he/she would let Luxu act as he likes without being watched over himself. I think of Demyx who would be a good candidate but I don't know why but since KH2, i think that Tetsuya Nomura is not developing Kairi that much on purpose. She is the trigger of Sora's journey but her role mainly stays there since KH1 and I don't buy that at all. Nomura knows what he is doing with his characters so I kinda think she will have a bigger role in the whole story he wants to tell.

@@MaddyRose1998 No lol I would love too but I think her role has to be more important because if we are honest, she is just there to be Sora's partner, said to be a keyblader too but a weak one which i don't like. For the MoM, i hesitate between a older version of Sora and Demyx. But I am sure MoM is there for a long time as a character we don't suspect.
The Master is male, there's no doubt about that. As for Demyx, there's so much support for the theory, I can't help but think the same.
The obvious being their personalities match up perfectly. And when you think about it, both Demyx and the master participate in recon over combat. They sit back, watching and waiting. Also isn't it strange how compared to both the original Org 13 and the true Org 13, Demyx is the only one we know virtually nothing about other than he is from the UX time period? Also in a conversation between the master and Xehanort, Xehanort discusses the exam and how does the master respond? "Ugh, sounds like work." VERY DEMYX.

Is the darkness itself its own entity? The more i think about it, the more it feels like either someone was the origin of evil or the darkness is just trying to destroy reality and that someone of light had to save everyone but for some reason this time paradoxes made this reality continuously happen. All that was meant to be or had had to be. It is interesting. Which means even Eraqus friend X just wasn't totally evil too. It's like a vicious cycle of betrayal and control but the light is still fighting the good fight
