Bailes de los Arcos 2024: Sayaw-Awit Parangal kina San Pedro at San Pablo gamit ang Kastanyetas

June 29 2024 - the Bailes de los Arcos performed the Panatang Sayaw to honor Makati's beloved patrons - Saint Peter, Saint Paul, and the Virgen de la Rosa de Macati.
This traditional dance takes place every June 29 and 30, coinciding with the feast days of the Poblacion's Patron Saints. This ritual is special because not just anyone can dance. In the past, only fair-skinned girls with good reputations and who were virgins were chosen as dancers.
The dance consists of three parts - the dicho (chanting prayers together), the trono (singing prayers), and the baile (a mix of prayer, dance, and song). The Panatang Sayaw is a beautiful way for us Makateños to show respect to our patron saints, bringing us together in unity and reverence.
