"I didn't know how to 3D print last week." Well, I think you did a pretty darned awesome job! And I can't believe how smooth and shiny you got the helmet mold! Crazy good! But I can't believe you stopped with that level of cliffhangeriness!!! Nooooooo!!!!!!! Must see next episode!!
And it was PLA!! Maybe I should start using it more often, it's a hell of a lot easier to print than ABS... (although I've heard it's a nightmare to paint)
lol I remember I made this helmet also for a festival. I didn't have an oven so I used my barbeque grill instead. I probably went through 20 sheets before the i got the dome right. It was mostly human error, like not centering it. or trying to transfer the plastic from hot oven in a cold night onto the mold, and wrong tempurture where it burned the plastic. This video is awesome, thank you for going though the same experience, it brought up a lot of memory of my younger days making this without a 3d printer lol
Aw man... This came up in my feed this morning but I had to head off to the gym, I was going to watch it when I got home but I forgot. Now I have to wait another 4 hours. OK, I'm just going to Like it now and watch it later 😂
Taking my Like back...and then giving it back to you. That was awesome! 😀 Very inspiring and fun, except for the 3D printing which just gave me flashbacks to all the evenings where I've spent the entire night in my workshop without a single successful print 😭 Hope you're having fun in NOLA, my favourite city in the world!!! ❤️
Omg this was seriously so good! Can’t wait for the second part! Also shoutout to being the only other character in this video 😂😂. Do you know when you’re dropping pt 2?
That was incredibly fascinating! I've been wanting to build a Daft Punk helmet for a long time now, and I really like your idea of 3D printing it. Super creative! Looking forward to your next episode. I hope you got it unstuck from the oven!
just found your channel (from the YT secret santa) love it. cool to see someone step outside their comfort zone and film both sides of learning a new "thing" the "holy cow, that worked" to the "OMG I just ruined everything" and everything in between.
Hahaha love this video. Im sorry for your frustration. Ive been going through the same thing with this Mandolorian helmet. Minus the vacuum sealing. That looks like a beeeeee
Great video.. Very fun to watch. I made both Daft Punk helmets last year. Working (almost) everyday both helmets took me almost 9 months to make from Pep model to chroming. I feel your pain on this build. There is A LOT of involvement with it and it is a Colossal pain in the ass.
Yep... The hardest part... Heating up the schtuff to form it. Don't feel bad. I know what it's like to peel plastic from my oven grate. I've had so many problems doing the lid for the treasure chest case that is the hardest, and most complex part of my portable computer project that I have resorted to re-enforcing the original mold, and using that as the lid. What I'm ending up with looks to be a layered mess of aluminum, polycarbonate, and wood. But that mess is actually starting to look like the lid of a treasure chest. At least I got the actual computer part of it done, minus the battery pack. It boots, does the interwebs, and plays my DVDs. But I can't use it until it's all one unit.
That's a great video! Interesting and funny. I'm getting a Wes Anderson vibe from some of the music choices, intertitles and slightly exhausted talking to camera shots.
I know this was two years ago but for anyone thinking of warming acrylic in the oven please Google it first as there are toxins which are released and can pose health issues. You can get around this by using a heat gun
I am in the middle of wiring and used the files you have provided however there is an issue and wanted to know if you could forward me the info to the people who actually programmed the files in Arduino for you. Thanks a bunch
@@Estefannie Thank you for your reply, I thought I saw in one of your videos giving thanks to someone for helping you with the programming. we have sent a couple messages to you previously and was hoping you could assist with a few questions. I have sent you an email to the email that is listed in your about me section here. We have all the parts wired, however when we upload and run it, the lights are on blue, not solid but flickering very fast. The pot with the dial and board dont seem to be working. Is it possible that you can offer some assistance? On your board there were also 2 yellow wires that I was unsure for their purpose as well. Thank you so much
Omg could you make one for me? You activated my google home and it made my tv switch to playing music while I was trying to watch your video lol

Estefannie Explains It All don't keep us waiting... Cliff hanger endings like that need quick resolution.. ;)
Oh, I also forgot to say that I like your presentation style (intro, animations, speaking to camera). It's fun and enjoyable to watch.
Keep at it! Took me 4 months to build mine... Worth it in the end!
Great work! This was really fun to watch, can't wait until the next part
Well, this is the 1st video of yours I've ever seen and I think I'm gonna have to hit all the buttons.

What's the 3D printer you used and what's the software you used to model the parts? Thanks!

This is seriously amazing!! Can't wait for part 2!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Do you have a video on your 3D printer ....I have been looking for something exactly like that.
I really like how you show the iterations it takes to get the final result.

What was the metal band towards the beginning during you building process? Sounded a lot like God Forbid and took me by surprise!
Came for the tutorial, stayed for the sillyness. Subbed!

That was an excellent way to get my Google home to add a soundtrack to the lab build 😂😂
This is seriousy a great video!!! Hats off!!
Are the files for 3D printing available anywhere?
Hi. “Loved the video, excellent idea. I want to make my own,What’s the name of the 3D printer u used? And software?

@@EastwoodFabrication I was thanking my sponsor 96 Boards. The 2 yellow wires are for adding another input for lights on the sides (ears).
