One of the things people most often forget is the joy of creating and acquiring new skills. You did an amazing job, I'll definitely by swiping thr idea!
Your video was very helpful to me. I used your basic design to make one out of pallets I got for free from a business. I cut them apart as needed and hinged like you did. Thank you and God bless.
I am making one today! The treated dog-eared fence slats are great for simple projects. After they weather and turn the rustic gray, they look great. God Bless, and thanks for the idea! Marquette Michigan!
I love the way the hinges let it fold up all together almost as if that is what it’s supposed to do great job love the real was of it not editing your mistakes
That's awesome! I will admit that after two Christmas seasons, a few of the nails began to slip out of the connecting boards. They slide right back in when I align them, so it's no big deal, but you may want to consider small screws in place of the nails.
@William Midgley You may want to stick to the nails for the most part and just add a few screws in random places throughout to keep the nails from sliding apart. The size of the nails/screws will depend on the size of the boards you use; just long enough to go all the way through the top board and half the way through the connecting board. Best wishes and Merry Christmas!
you totally inspired me to build a nativity scene. I love the simplicity of the build and also that it has the perfect look. How do you feel about the black hinges? I'm thinking of using nickel plated door hinges Thank you for a beautiful video. Go girl power .
I found it on Amazon in 2017. The exact statues are not currently available; however, there is a similar set available, sold by the same seller. Sold by: Pembroke Street International, LLC.
Great job. You did well I making a stable aldo for the first time New tools as well do I was glad to see you and how you overcame your differences and made a amazing stable . Great work. I did subscribe to learn more from you. Thank you 😊
@Pink Hammer DIY Projects... I enjoyed this video and tha fact that you admitted to having made mistakes. That makes it 'feel' more real :) One small suggestion, though, please? The music volume is a little loud (the 'inbetween music) but your voice is softer, so I have to have to keep adjusting the volume to hear you talk (without being blasted by the music :D ). If you could have the music volume less that your voice, I think it'd work better :)
Thank you! I found the figures on Amazon. If you search for them you may want to include the word “statues” and “outdoors” to find the right size figures.
Well I think you did a wonderful job, I my self I'm going to tackle this item my self, my husband is happy to help l, but I want achieve this goal. So thank you for all the tips, merry Christmas creating from California.🤗
I found them on Amazon back in 2017. It may help to type in Baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph large outdoor nativity statue in your search. It was a little difficult for me to find.
I like your project I'm trying to make one myself this Christmas, question what is the best degree of angle to cut the side for the roof to lay properly, I know you cut yours at a 45 degree angle.
Hi John, Thank you so much! I wish I could provide you with the details. Unfortunately my projects are trial and error... feeling my way as I go. I can tell you that it may be better to replace some of the nails with small screws for a better hold, because my nails are beginning to loosen just a little when moving in and out of storage.
Hi @John C... I'm getting ready to make mine. What I am going to do is see what the height of the back panel is, the 'depth' of the roof, and what the height I want the roof to be at in front. This will help determine the cuts (I know it's a little more involved than that but for simplicity sake :) ).

Run the planks wild and cut after frame.
Well done,
Doing things twice is the biggest pain in the but and cost time and money.
So the first rule of carpentry is measure twice cut once.
