Hi Kerri; sorry only just seen this! I think Cavago are pretty rigorous in their checking of potential hosts so I’m sure you will be fine going with them. You don’t need to be a dressage rider as such but the horses there are generally trained in a classical way so are sensitive to your seat and balance and probably don’t take kindly to harsh reins and busy legs. For the manga you need to be fairly confident and competent but obviously a lot depends on your horse too! I would think anyone taking hosted rides there will put you on a horse that has done the fair before so it will know what to expect and not be too hyped up! Have an amazing time- working equitation is great fun so definitely have a go if you get the chance! :-)

Yes I don’t mind being honest and sharing the comments and scores as I hope it helps other people to understand as you say. I was very happy with him; much more relaxed warming up and so on which was my only aim for the show x

@@bexwbc1671 I've seen so many vlogs where people have said that the judge didn't leave any (or very many) comments, so they'd no idea why they were getting 5s and 6s, which must be incredibly frustrating!

@@Siobhan_Shivaunyes I always like to get a sheet with decent constructive criticism. Was able to work on some of the quarters in etc issues in our lesson this weekend :-)

So sorry I missed this comment at the time! Yes am so glad there has finally been some sunshine! My field is still boggy in places though; but at the least the riding paddock bit is sort of useable now!

Thank you; it’s hard not to get down especially when you feel the test has gone quite well and felt like an improvement on much better scoring previous tests at same level a year apart! It was only unaffiliated... Not sure how I feel about competing (dressage wise at least) this year yet! Might decide when the weather has improved as no point trying at the moment with my riding paddock flooded or frozen x

Hi Siobhan, glad to hear your stretches are helping! My Cervical Radiculopathy is under control ish but I know it’s rumbling on as I keep getting funny things like sore wrist or thumb- not helped with the terrible weather and doing too much heavy lifting I’m sure. Yes the marks were very disheartening and it does make you wonder why you bother! I hope you had a great Christmas x

Yes this is a very good point. Like my Alta Escuela Spanish saddle- you really need to sit. I did find the Portuguese saddle quite comfy. Doma Vaquera is just so heavy but comfortable!

Be a long way to take them! 😆 although friends of mine did take their horses from the UK to ride there!

Yes I think so! It has taken a few weeks of testing it out but myself and my usual instructor (who rides him every week before my lesson) both think he is seeking the contact forwards and feels much more still which is a great result!

Yes it has been such a frustration and hampered our progress. He still needs to strengthen more too but I feel this Novocontact has made a huge difference which will help with the work generally as now I can sit stiller! :-)

Hi there; thanks so much for your comment and advice! A few people have mentioned Pregabalin in the support group I found for this condition (Cervical Radiculopathy). The mix of drugs I’m on atm is helping enough I’m fairly mobile thankfully and I have a high pain threshold. They have given me Oramorph for night pain so I can sleep now at least! I have another vlog on here about my mare’s arthritis; called Dealing with arthritis part 2. It’s a product called Hempine and is a CBD Hemp flower and coconut mix. It is amazing and has made so much difference in her generally. She also had arthramid and steroid injected into her worst front foot coffin joint which helped a lot as she was quite lame on that. Now she’s just 1/10th lame on hard ground or tight turns really. They do ship outside of UK; worry dropping them a message if you are thinking of trying it :-)

Thanks Siobhan; yes I don’t understand why they are so reluctant to give you pain relief seeing as they are not interested in solving the issue 😅 Luckily my mobility is ok on the drugs now I’ve finally been sorted by GP. It’s the nerve pain that’s the worst but hopefully private MRI will show what’s wrong. Sorry to hear of your issues x

@@bexwbc1671 I have neuropathy (nerve damage) so I'm not in as much pain as I should be, which is a relief! Suffered with sciatica fir years and years. I've something wrong with my neck which has been giving me problems but no significant pain thankfully. I remembered some exercises a physio showed me years ago, and I started doing them, and I seem to have un-kinked whatever was wrong, so that's helped a huge amount! Best of luck Bex! xx

Oh wow that’s great you’ve managed to help it with exercises! I can’t wait for my MRI to find out what’s actually going on and work out some sort of plan as obviously it’s not good being on long term painkillers. Sciatica is so painful so I feel for you; my neck/arm thing the surgeon described as sciatica in the arm! X

@@bexwbc1671 sciatica in the arms is what I have!! It's like we're twins 😁 Back in ye olde days they'd put you in traction for (leg) sciatica, so I had to figure out ways to stretch my spine, and now I'm applying that logic to my neck. I've only been doing the stretches for a month, and I'm noticing a huge difference already xx

⁠@@Siobhan_Shivaunyes I think that’s what the surgeon described it as; sciatica in your arm! I’m glad you’ve found a way to manage it. I had my MRI yesterday (private as NHS waste of time) so waiting on results now x
