I think this driver is finding it difficult to explain things for u to understand easy. Labadi is a town situated in Accra. There are soo many towns in Accra. We use the word GA for the city of Ghana 🇬🇭 which people known as Accra. N the GAS are the Accra people. So for the example, someone can ask u , please do u speak GA?

States are different from regions. Regions are just divisions in an unitary country. States are unites in a federation and have more autonomy. They may different laws, tax regimes, criminal laws, budgets, universities, etc.

Your guide gave you some wrong info. Burma Camp has nothing to do with the Twi language. The name goes back to the 2nd world war when we were still colonized by the British. Burma is a country in Asia which has been renamed Myanmar. Ghanaian soldiers fought with the British in Burma against the Japanese and that’s why this military Camp was named Burma Camp. All of Accra is Ga land, not just La. Due to Ga land being the capital city, the Ga chiefs donated a lot of land to the government and the rest was under the control of the Ga kings who sell it to the highest bidder.

The driver doesn't know anything about Accra and the Ga's. The name La, is translated to English as FIRE, and BURMA CAMP is not "Barima Camp" as the driver is indicating. This driver doesn't know a thing about what he's saying. I'm sad for him saying all this inaccurate things. Please find a good driver who knows the city. Your driver is giving you inaccurate information and I don't like it, I believe a whole lot of Ghanaians will be angry with him.
