Watching this in 2022 and my life is pain. This thing is well over $300 new and $100-200 used. It’s been a huge pain trying to find a nice grip case for the 2000 that doesn’t damage the matte finish on the newer 2000 vita’s .
The most comfortable way to hold the PS Vita (for me, at least) is to have the index fingers on the L & R buttons, and have the rest of the fingers parallel to the grips on the back.
btw if your vita is mod you can also remap the keys for PS4 games so the shoulder buttons can be any button or trigger you want the app is on auto plugin.....really useful
I have had this for about 6 or 7 months it is great i have big hands being 6'8" and this makes my gaming experience with the vita much better it fits excellently now if i could only get a carry case for it to fit in while this was on . great purchase all around the board

It still doesnt beat the portability of the vita but i have to fix it my grip is in great condition tho. I even got a ps tv thing for about 60 bucks from the marketplace before they started hiking prices. Havent been able to use it because my vita broke.
I just ordered this and it arrived today! Sooo nice. I have the same blue vita too! One extra accessory that made the Vita super comfortable was thumbstick grips. The combination of all of these makes the Vita so easy to play in my hands. Great video!

I literally just got the aqua blue PS Vita 2000 and I just bought this grip it was kind of pricey but it was cheaper than everywhere else I've seen I got it for 122 bucks everywhere else wanted like 150 or more and don't even let me get started on Amazon

@@b65klu while you're playing a psq classic games hold down the home button for a few seconds. The options menu should pop up and have a small settings button for the game you're currently playing. In the options there you can map out where you want the L2 and R2 buttons. 👍
The grip is great but, unfortunately, not all games allow remapping the controls. L3 is used to sprint/run in Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 Remake and it's a bit hard to do that when L3 is locked to pressing the lower left side of the PS Vita's touchscreen.
to bypass using this Hori grip, and still have R2/L2 button capabilities, just download the ds4vita.skprx plugin from the Autoplugin app, (must have hacked vita and a ps4 controller) then reboot, go to settings, devices, bluetooth devices, and check the bluetooth feature box. Then go ahead and hold down your psn button, and share button to pair your ps4 controller. It works great with adrenaline, and retroarch for ps1 games, remote play, etc.
Barely bought a Japanese vita. And I absolutely hate that I barely bought my vita. I play red dead 2 in bed before going to sleep, I love my vita. Hurry up and get one before they stop making them. And I have this accessory too. It's must own!

Mine just arrived on Saturday really happy to be playing remote play again. But now I'm trying to decide if I should buy the L3 R3 grip to have all the buttons.
I have the grip. It’s excellent for games that use the back touch pad like borderlands 2 or remote play. But beware the top clip isn’t very strong and it broke in my book bag with my 3ds grip. Haven’t found a case that will use it either so I carry the grip separately. Protect that weak top clip!
The Psvita2000 L2/r2button Load Grip Cover Black offered by Gadgets World is currently 28 bucks on Amazon and for my money a better product. Had many of these kinds of cases and it is THE best. It has triggers at the top and leaves the back and all the ports easily accessible. The one shown here is good, but not as comfortable to use for me.
Remember getting one last year but unfortunately I had to return it because some people aren't the best with budgeting where I had to paid a extra late fee on a internet bill and wish I could keep it after seeing the ridiculous prices.😒
I have a similar device by Top Player. I haven't used the Hori version, but I can see one major disadvantage. The Hori version blocks all access to the rear touchpad. The Top Player version has a large section of the touchpad still exposed, so you could permanently keep the Top Player trigger grip on and still play games reliant on the rear pad if you so wished.

The Top Player trigger grip only covers up the uppermost portion of the pad for the L2 and R2 buttons while leaving the remaining section of the pad exposed for rear-touch heavy Vita games. There' an optional piece sold separately to attach to the remaining section if you need triggers for L3 and R3. All I'm saying is it's nice to have L2 and R2 triggers while still having access to the read pad, rather than only getting one or the other.

But i still dont see a point to the other trigger grip i guess, this is letting you access all the main parts of the rear touchpad you need, all 4 quadrants of it. What else would you need rear-touch heavy use for? i havent played a game yet that would require me to take that grip off and use my fingers. Elaborate? I am keen to learn! @@TechSavvyBuyer Well, Uncharted Golden Abyss for example has sections where you need to clean or examine items, the game switches over to a subpart of the game in which you use the touchscreen to dust off the item and the rear touch pad to rotate it. You do so by drawing your finger along the rear pad. In Tearaway, there are sections where you are prompted to touch the rear touch pad to move objects - when you touch it, it creates the illusion of your fingers popping through the floor of the game and interacting with the paper world. Similarly, in Little Deviants you move your character by touching the rear pad. It makes it look like your fingers are poking up from underneath the surface. The bump you create causes the character to roll across the floor. Playing such games would be rather difficult with the Hori trigger grip. But with the Top Player version, you still have access to a large portion of the rear touch pad which you can use to access these controls and gestures.
It is not that bad wish it was a little cheaper because back then other companies when the Vita was popular in the west in stores there was one almost the same thing as that for the 1000 model just didn't have the L3/R3 buttons in the back but it was also 15$ because when i had the 1000 model i had that grip. Also from what i recall as well that Moonlight only works with Nvidia cards because i tried it last month with my RX 570 and it wouldn't find my system because of that.
You can still buy it in some alieexpress and alibaba online shopping for cheaper price.. Some are shipped from china.. This will cost 30 to $40.. Not sure how much the shipping maybe 4 to 8$.
dougbkk look on EBay for individual sellers & private message them to negotiate! I got lucky a couple days ago, I found someone selling a gently used one for $90 and by some miracle I managed to negotiate them down to $55! It showed up yesterday and this thing is the bomb!

And don't buy from gamestop, as they will have it as the latest firmware usually, and ends up being higher priced than it usually would be. Plus I would recomment a sd2vita 3.0 to use micro sd cards.
I have this and its great.... when the games have the right controls! The problem with this product is not the product itself, its that too many ps4 games force the L2/3 and R2/3 buttons onto the screen corners and things like that and there's no way to change them. One example of many is ac unity. A big part of any ac game is stealth and in ac unity, you need to hold crouch and move around to get the best out of the game. Some genius somewhere decided to make the remote play Vita controls have the crouch as the bottom left corner of the screen but how can I move the analogue stick and hold the screen at the same time? Crazy. In my experience, MOST ps4 games have similar problems and while, when you find games that do use the rear touch pad in the way it should for the extra L and R buttons, this product is great, those games are in the minority. If controls were remappable, this wouldn't be an issue and that's the whole problem. For something like vita remote play, controller mapping should be a basic requirement!
I just accidentally snapped one of my cheap ones, since i tried to take it off.... time for an upgrade. *Edit 2023:* It turns out back then I didn't get this one, as I didn't have the 2000 model Vita. Fast forward to today, my 1000 Vita is having serious issues, in regards to the GPU continuing to crash. So now, I'm going to buy a 2000 model. I thought now was a good time to get the Hori grip, only to find out they're as expensive as the system itself. I dunno if I'm willing to pay that much, but if I don't find another grip that is solid, then I'll have to cough up the cash for one of these. *Edit 2023 (same day):* I managed to find a good deal (cope) and I bought it for $130 NZD not including shipping. I have this. And its the best. Good for remoteplay of games that mapped their controls on the back touchpad. (Spiderman, arkham knight,gtaV,uncharted) Pretty useless on some games like God of War tho

I've been using the Nyko grip because of it having a chargeable battery in it to extend total battery length which comes in handy when out and about.

There is also a PS Vita 1000 version which is also a full case. I purchased a PS Vita 1000 one to make a portable Raspberry Pi.

I'd ratrher have a hacked vita than a portable pi =p. Not much of a difference IMO, other than it being easier to use.

NOt every vita owner. There is no such grip for original models ( PCH-1000).
It also helps for Ps1 games like Megaman Legends that use L2 and R2.

Also from what i recall as well that Moonlight only works with Nvidia cards because i tried it last month with my RX 570 and it wouldn't find my system because of that.

dougbkk look on EBay for individual sellers & private message them to negotiate! I got lucky a couple days ago, I found someone selling a gently used one for $90 and by some miracle I managed to negotiate them down to $55! It showed up yesterday and this thing is the bomb!

Get a used one that has a firmware 3.68 or less. New ones are going super expensive and not worth it. Hacking it wont impact remote play ;)
And don't buy from gamestop, as they will have it as the latest firmware usually, and ends up being higher priced than it usually would be. Plus I would recomment a sd2vita 3.0 to use micro sd cards.

I have this and its great.... when the games have the right controls! The problem with this product is not the product itself, its that too many ps4 games force the L2/3 and R2/3 buttons onto the screen corners and things like that and there's no way to change them. One example of many is ac unity. A big part of any ac game is stealth and in ac unity, you need to hold crouch and move around to get the best out of the game. Some genius somewhere decided to make the remote play Vita controls have the crouch as the bottom left corner of the screen but how can I move the analogue stick and hold the screen at the same time? Crazy. In my experience, MOST ps4 games have similar problems and while, when you find games that do use the rear touch pad in the way it should for the extra L and R buttons, this product is great, those games are in the minority. If controls were remappable, this wouldn't be an issue and that's the whole problem. For something like vita remote play, controller mapping should be a basic requirement!

*Edit 2023:* It turns out back then I didn't get this one, as I didn't have the 2000 model Vita. Fast forward to today, my 1000 Vita is having serious issues, in regards to the GPU continuing to crash. So now, I'm going to buy a 2000 model. I thought now was a good time to get the Hori grip, only to find out they're as expensive as the system itself. I dunno if I'm willing to pay that much, but if I don't find another grip that is solid, then I'll have to cough up the cash for one of these.
*Edit 2023 (same day):* I managed to find a good deal (cope) and I bought it for $130 NZD not including shipping. I haven't even bought the new Vita yet. 💀

I have this. And its the best. Good for remoteplay of games that mapped their controls on the back touchpad. (Spiderman, arkham knight,gtaV,uncharted) Pretty useless on some games like God of War tho
