B.Wayne Hughes was an open book for USC. He donated 600 million to USC athletics. He died two months before Lincoln Riley was hired. Without Hughes and Galen USC just isn’t the same.

A Sacramento like move by USC telling donors to hit the road few years ago. Is it the water in California, smog??

Bryan Kelly is right on in his comments about NIL; developing athletes & preparing them for the next level is whats its all about. As far as paying an athlete a college scholarship is designed to financially assist qualified & desearving lower incomed students with an opportunity to attend college. I think there should be a Cap on what these athletes are able to suggest to these Institutions of higher learning. In addition academic standard should be attached to NIL in efforts to maintain high academic requirements by each athlete. Lastly if a player get a big NIL bag they should be required to spend at least 2 or more years at the University; athletes shouldnt be able to bounce after 1 semester to another school because of lack of playing time- if violated that student athlete should have to return the NIL back to the school...with exception. a Grad student or a student experiecing a family or medical emergency.

      ** Absolutely!
"As far as paying an athlete a college scholarship is designed to financially assist qualified & desearving lower incomed students with an opportunity to attend college."
** Will be interesting if and when colleges start reducing/eliminating scholarship for average players. NIL recipients are a very small % of players, but many colleges will be tested, and some will eliminate football $$ dependent sports down the line.
We Blacks/Browns will be the big losers due to lack of re$ources.
The real winners in this racket are always the agents/middlemen.
Little changes, we do the performing, singing/dancing/dribbling,,, and someone else makes the real money; or handle's our money and Rob's us clean.
KAREEM, ex-Laker always remains fresh in my mind.
Drugs destroying our communities fall under the same umbrella,
Jerome/Ruffus nickel and dimes while the Man lives in Malibu/Catalina Island,, and owns properties all around the world.

I agree also. I'm not against playing players, but pretty soon, we will be PPG (paying per game). Last game of the season, vs. Notre Dame, both undefeated, winner gets into the playoffs, "Oh, my knee hurts... but $1M will make it feel better", by all the starters. Eventually donors will close them check books. This is getting out of hand. 1/2 mil in LA, CA. or 1/2 mil in Lincoln, NE. where do you want to win. PLUS in LA you can get a better NIL (because of a WAY bigger market).

Guys I’m 86 years old, and have been a USC and I have been a USC fan since high school. I would have love to go USC but my family was working class and you got a job. No one went to college so I am still a USC fan.

Good point about wanting to be develop. Sooner or later there will be trouble in the Oregon locker room. Coach Prime touched on this when you pay athletes. Someone is going to get disgruntled. That’s all it takes….Fight On!

Give money to kids and internal stuff will come to light. Hell, adults struggle to control their egos, let alone kids.
Some fool will start bragging about his loot, or worse rubbing it in others faces; upsetting the apple cart.

Maybe a lot of money went to the new facilities that USC is building while everybody else don’t have to use there money on facilities. we talking millions of dollars that could have went to the athletics.

No doubt a lot of money has been channeled into the project, price of stuff in LA is beyond crazy. Sacramento with its minimum wage and deregulation of sports.
What were they thinking, oh! yea they weren't!
Them boys would run the Pacific Ocean dry given the contract to manage it.

Man Jamaal has lost his mind😵‍💫, Coach Link has Juju Lewis, Stubbs, Justice Terry and Isaiah Gibson committed, Coach Link has great prospects committed. Coach Link isn't in a mid-market program, SC is in LA not Baton Rouge. Trojans will be just fine especially once SC starts winning.

USC will have to pay for talent Ed players the same way the university had to pay up for talented coaches. Schools can be develop and pay for top talent. This culture talk needs to go, college football is a business.

I would prefer for the Zillionaire alums to merge resources and fund research to deflect rocks from our planet. But hey sports/entertainment is more important.
Governments are too busy fighting and hiding technologies from one another to merge resources.
OUMUAMUA'S have mercy on us please, hey! we'll watch you from our sporting events.
