    i just planted a Jiro Persimmon last week on my property in Southern Ohio...& i want to dehydrate them like you're doing, when i get some.....my tree is now about 7' tall......nice video...!!

    Wasn't done...I'm going to get some bananas and dehydrate them...I live bananas and figure I can get those from the grocery store and begin my dehydrating journey...I'm so excite...I have a lemon, lime, and an orange tree of some kind but they are small and I will have to wait for future fruit from them but at I have them. Thank you for your videos. They are so helpful. Love you guys😁

      I think they are hardy enough for zone 6 - you might want to look into it.

    Persimmons are one of my favorite foods. Not into the astringent ones, just the fuyu kind. I never thought about dehydrating them...

    I’m not a fan of the jelly texture of that other persimmon. That’s such a great idea to dehydrate the persimmons! I bet they were delicious!

      Try an American Persimmon. Prok or Yates are good varieties.

      Persimmons are hardy and can grow in zones 6-10 - and they grow fast.

    I'm not sure which variety I have but my tree is full like yours. I've pulled several but I 'm trying to wait for them to get darker orange and a little softer since they get juicy. I might have to get a dehydrator so I can do like you did. Great video!

    I just came across a dehydrator for $5. Wasn’t sure if I should grap it or not, but I did , boy am I glad I did😊. I went apple and Asian pear picking , I’ll be dehydrating some of that. Your persimmons looks delicious, enjoy!

      I listen to lead farmer I love the fruit but I don't know how to care for it help.i just received it I live in an apartment can I plant it in a container and put it outside now

      @@LadyLead These trees are in the wooded part of my property, therefore, I haven't done so yet but I will this year, But Really want one of the tree you have, the texture looks like something I would enjoy eating.

      I think we’ve had that tree that I harvested from maybe 3-4 years. It also produced abundantly last year.

      you'll get some by the second year. My 3rd year was nice & by the fourth year it was heavy with fruit.

    Where did you find your Jiro persimmon from? Do I have to have a 2nd persimmon in order to get good pollination off the Jiro tree? I need to add one to my backyard. Thxs

      Try a local nursery or Isons Nursery’s website. They don’t need a pollinator. That’s why most of the persimmons in the video didn’t have any seeds except that one.

    Where did you find the seeds for that hiro? Looks good. We have one that's a huge tree 40 feet in ohio. We tried them they were very red were they over ripe? They did not taste good.

      We do don’t plant this tree from seeds. So not sure where you can get seeds. If the fruit was red, sounds like it was definitely over ripe and probably very mushy.

    I have a dehydrator on my Walmart list. I can't can in my situation. Are there foods, any foods, you can just store in zip locks? Tyvm.

      I usually use zip locks for most things that I dehydrate, but it would probably last longer if it were vacuum sealed.
