A great classic film for all time. ... Thank you for this interview. One of my favorite scenes is when Wind in His Hair tastes sugar for the first time. An extraordinary bit of acting with such a subtle change of expression from the fiercest of warriors.
Yes, a met Rodney Grant (Wind In His Hair) an Omaha Nation native, when I was vice president of the Nebraska Indian Community College around 2002. He is a wonderful character actor.
@@radrians u are very lucky man.i always wanted to meet with him.but i ll never have that chance.his talent and art work especially in dances with wolves, was gave me teary eyes..that ending was epic.his words and the way he said those words were epic too.i still cant watch that part without crying.
U know what they say about men..if u want to reach into their hearts,u have to conquer their stomache first.Wind in gis hair tasted the sugar and put his guard down straighr away😊
This was awesome. I'm from North Dakota, I saw Dances when I was home on leave while serving in the Air Force. Kevin's direction and Dean Semler's Cinematography inspired me to become a Cinematographer/Filmmaker, as I am today. I really appreciate Kevin's appreciation for the west and beauty of the prairie. I went to film school at Montana State in Bozeman, where I met Dean Semler who was directing a film, that meeting inspired me even more......thank you Kevin for being so down to earth.
DANCES WITH WOLVES Earned an ACADAMY AWARD, in my opinion , FOR THE STORY LINE, THE ACTOR, KEVIN COSTNER, THE INDIANS, THE SCENERY, THE INTENSE MOMENTS THOUGHOUT THE MOVIE, THE MUSIC SET TO IT THROUGHOUT THE SCENES, AND ON AND ON! NO OTHER MOVIE CAN ACCOMPLISH WHAT IT DID. NO OTHER MOVIE CAN CAPTURE YOUR HEART AND YOUR MIND, AND NO OTHER ACTOR THAN KEVIN COSTNER, COULD CAPTURE YOUR MIND AND ENTIRE ATTENTION AS MR. COSTNER DID WITHOUT FAULTERING.I LOVED THE HORSES, AND SCENERY, AN INTRICATE PART OF THIS MOVIE! "DANCES WITH WOLVES" AND "KEVIN COSTNER" COVERED MORE INTERESTS THAN ANY OTHER MOVIE HAS DONE IN THE HISTORY OF WESTERNS" I SAY "BRAVO"

I couldn’t wait to see the movie once I heard about it. I even took a friend who would never go to see it on her own. In my opinion, I have waited almost a lifetime to watch a movie that depicted real native Americans all I ever heard growing up were John Wayne films where Native Americans were mostly savages and hated by the white people and I knew that just couldn’t be true there had to be some kind of humanity to them so when I saw a dances with wolves, I got an itch to move west within three years I moved to Colorado I’d befriended Ute natives and Navajo natives and I got to understand them a little. These are wonderful people who were terribly mistreated by white people who wanted to take the land and that’s all that was to it. They tried to make them come out as savages, but the truth is white people broken to their country and just took over. How would any person living here today fight to keep their homes? Savagely I think. Native Americans did not start scalping. It was the Hession that the French brought in when they were fighting the Native Americans that taught them all about scalping there’s a lot most people don’t even know about how terribly the native peoples were treated broken treaties, surgically altering female natives to make them sterile. I believe in karma And now with what’s happening in my country, I think we’re probably gonna be paying a high price for our ancestors lack of humanity.

I am from England, my name is Dorothy Lavill, I love you Kevin ❤😅
U make me feel like that every time I see you and hear you speak
I'm hoping they'll ask KC about playing percussion in the recording of the score, to make the sound of gunfire. He did that.
Why did the clip use the theme from The Untouchables? seems like sort of an affront to Costner not to use John Dunbar's Theme.
I always saw the wolf Aa a metaphor for the Native American and how cruel it was to see how they where treated
Be open mind and heart to all human . Understand
