So many good skates out there. but none have THIS many selling points at THIS price. Agreed? ...do you think the Standard Omni skate will become the new 'easy choice?'
I can only agree to both points. The only thing I can be a little weary of, is the internal height of the Aeon. I still haven’t had the luxury of trying them on myself, but if they are similar internal height, I might have some issues like I did in my Shifts. Skates like the 909, Mesmer and Carbons are fine for people with a higher instep, so I really hope Aeons are as well.
The only real downside is that the soulplates don’t slide that well due to the whole boot being one material. Apparently the 2.0 version will eliminate that problem by making a completely new mold.
The standard is more money than that aeon, and nobody even skated the standard yet, so I don't know how they are a good competitor. People are really trying to up sell skate they haven't even rode yet. You could get almost every brand of skate around $200 and up $330 for someone to start out with
another thing I really like about my Aeons is that they have a fairly wide toe-box, which doesn't give me the nasty pressure that a lot of skates give, on the side of my foot
Probably one of the best bits of information someone could leave as a comment. My feet were built for climbing and balancing, so the width of my feet and length of my second toe make most shoes uncomfortable. Glad to know about the extra toe space. (^-^)
Used to skate back in the day. Had a pair of Roces 5th elements. And Soloman STI Teams. Recently got back into it and opted for the Blue and white Roces M12. So happy with them.
I've had roces, usd sways, them 909s, razors sls, shifts, gawds fm3s, saloman st9s and I sold a fair bit of skates and one I've always kept the one and thats the aeons. Have some intuition premiums, sliqx souls, 45 degree strap and some nice 60mm famus wheels and make sure you groove them in on a nice rough ledge. This is all I'm going to say.
Salomon ST8's were the best skate made of all time; and the only thing close to them is the new brand Echo. The boot molds definitely took inspiration from the ST8. They do look similar to Them 909's. I really liked my Dre Powells, which were like a soft boot Genesis 3. I've never liked USD's. You really think the Aeon is the best?
Not sure, why this isn’t coming up enough, but: 1. This is a great skate, and for someone who’s last skate was a Salomon about 25yrs ago, this skate is super light and virtually grinds by itself, both groove and sole. 2. However, if your foot is „high-instep“ this boot will feel like a wrench to your feet. I know a few ppl who can’t wear it. 2 boot sizes for 4 shoe sizes might simply not be enough. I’d love to skate it, but tried 3 liners and all painful.
I think I have this problem. I have the Aeon 60s. I'm trying to work through it, but so painful to skate on for long periods. Do you know of any skates that accommodate high instep? Will a different liner fix the problem or is it really the skate itself?
I was going to grab the aeon basics but opted for the team xxi A60 nor the soft shoe option in the boot. Love the simplicity of their skate. After trying out so many different frame sets and boot options the Aeon is the “let’s just skate” type of set up I didn’t know I needed
Bro i just seen this video and thought this guy looks familiar. Its Jake Eley i Remember seeing you at Nass 2001 and in Unity and one time in Maidenhead.
Found a very cheap set of Pianowski Aeons on vinted and was pleasantly surprised with how nice and comfy they are, and how well they perform. They look great too. Going to roll these for parks with the flat set up and keep my Razor SLs for street.
As an old, beginner-level skater bumbling about the skate park and dropping in, Aeons suit me great. Might be worth mentioning their reputation for slow soul plates though for those who are progressing with grinds.
Tbf, I haven't noticed aeons being slow. Maybe it's because I haven't skated in many years, or that I haven't tried any other skates in over 20 years. 😅@@rollforever85
I've started out with the Aeon 60 Basic - Worst skate i tried so far in my book, i'll recommand the ECHO for that prize instead. When I got my Them Pat Ridder I began to skate, with the Aeon 60 I began to doubt if blading was something for me.
I haven't skated in about 24 years, but recently bought second hand (almost new) Aeons 60 Basic for £70, so I'm very happy and hopefully will be able to to some tricks, like good old times. Last skates I used were Salomon St8 blue and I think the Aeons are not as flexible. Are they easy for topsides for example?
Oldhead question: my knees are old but I miss skating. I'm more worried about a sticky soul plate than maybe a slicker grind. Is a Sway a better idea? Or is the Aeon stickiness blown out of proportion? Thanks to any who have insight.
What about for those with US size 13-14 feet? I have the Roces M12 Lo right now in size 13 and they are very painful on the outer tops of my feet. I used a heat gun to stretch it more but it’s unbearable to wear for more than 15 minutes. I live in Houston where you can’t try any of these brands out in a store so recommendations are appreciated. I also have a pair of Powerslide Next 90’s and they fit great in size 13. They feel perfect. Really really really hard to get on and off but once they are on I wouldn’t change a thing. Anything similar to that boot for aggressive?
Probably best looking at Razors models in your size, sucks that not all brands accommodate your size. Also, have a look at Mesmer Teams and FR Pottiers.
Both of us. I have been around blading since mid 90s. Rode everything that came out before 2000. Definitely wanna try Aeons and sway. Never skated in em. Cult and thrones are my faves as of all my years on boots. Salomon third for me.

Rollerblades That have the twisty nobs to Titan So instead of the raped strap its the nob if that makes sense. with the 100mm wheels I Do not no if I Shod get 4 wheels or 3 wheels. And for the coler it can it be like dark green with like black. No light colers like light yellow,pink,red,blue/teial,green"ya no light colers pls but black have to be in the skate I prob be like sumtin like black and dark green or dark blue with black... so if you can respond it wode make my day pls.
I bought my USDs in 2007/8, used only them. Last 14 years I only skates very occasionally. Since they are very fucked up I just bought the powerslide zoom 80. And I don't know. After first 30 minutes the wheels were so fucked up already just from T Stops... I feel so wiggly on them, I can power stop on them or anything 😓 is that normal on those normal skates ? Never tried any besides aggressive skates
I've got some of the croft red aeons, have had many issues with cuff bolts breaking and coming loose, and the cuff is way to hard. It's hard to get the backslide plate down on grinds and I find topsides litterly impossible. It grinds awful, even with a sliqx slider and liberally applied wax, I often just instantly stop grinding on a soul based grind and go flying. It's is good for virt stuff and basic grove grinds though, frontside and backsides are super smooth all day long
My friend's aeons are barely some months old and the frame around the axle bolt on the inside cracked making it impossible to tighten it and put a wheel in. So the entire skate. Is useless since its on piece
Oof, that sucks. You can get replacement shells for about $100 USD. Never heard of that happening. I wonder if just a defect, or if they were overtightening them. Don't actually need much torque
I was looking at how far I am from your shop and if you will be able to ship to me but when I put it into Google maps it says can't find a way there. I was wondering how will it get shipped to me? Also how long will it take to ship?

Considering the AEON 80mm. Are there any others to look at or is the Aeon 80 the go to for 'aggressive' 80mm skates.. Very few to choose from in this type of skate.
