Interesting fact, in Russia 1,2TSI 105 is supplied with 5-shift gearbox. None of the Skoda officials could explain the reason. But still it's a very nice power-transmission plant.
One thing is what you feel and the other is what really happens. A simple test with 2 cars that i know extremely well. ford focus 1.6 zetec-s 100hp & 150nm ford focus 1.6 tdci 109hp & 260nm The diesel feels faster but the petrol one is just a rocket and has more top speed. The diesel is about 205/210 km/h and the petrol is about 210/215 km/h, bought straight.
I have a petrol focus sw with 14 years and with 145.000miles and it the car is better than new. No squeek, no anoying sounds, nothing. You just have to be carefull and do good services to the car. I was so pleased with this one that i bought a new ford focus sw tdci. 2 Ford and 0 complains.
all the engines works with torque = NM and power = BHP. The torque helps you to get to higher rpm's faster (bhp). The car is alot faster if you use all the power band. Try to do a 0-100km/h using shifting always at 4000rpm, and then do another run using 6000rpm, and you can see who's faster. NM helps you to start moving and it gives you momento but then is the bhp that do all the work and top speed.
better then new. I changed some components, but it's normal. With that much age and milage. Where i live the roads are crappy too, and the car was driven hard. Heavy loads in the trunk with 4/5 people inside and still pushing hard.
maximum torque :175 Nm (129 ft·lb) (17.8 kgm) at 1550-4100 rpm maximum power output :104.9 PS (103.5 bhp) (77.2 kW) at 5000 rpm This are the specs. Your are talking about the torque, in a petrol engine is not the torque that counts, but the bhp. If the maximum power output is at 5000rpm it means that the pic performance of the engine is way beyond 4000rpm.
This is not 1.2 . More like that it it 1.4 because if you turn stopwatch you will see 0-100 is in about 8 sec. and that is 1.4 performance. 1.2 needs 10.5 sec
The 1.2 TSI engine is surprisingly powerful but this car for real seems to be too quick for 105 PS :-)@deer Reving to the red line is still a good idea despite TSI's flexible nature. Some turbo engines provide continuous power e.g. from 5000 to 6000 rpm.
Lets speak more to the point. I am not talking about torque but NM the car gets 175NM UNTIL 4100RPM, BUT NOT AT 5000RPM. Surely u can achive 5000 but not with power of 175nm, the "NM" will decrease you will be left at 5000rpm with less power and more fuel consumption. You are right that rpm doesnt count.
sem spíše odpůrce škodovek, vlastně celého vw ale musím říct že sem tu 1,2 tsi v tom těžkém autě čekal mnohem línější, nicméně sem zvědavý na spolehlivost :)))
I understand your position, i really do. But i choose not to sold my car, and now he is worthless. And i don't want to give it away for almost nothing. I invested some money in it and improved it. Better clutch, better shocks, better brakes, better exhaust manifold, superior injection system, better air manifolds, ecu adjusted. Monetarly it doesn't worth nothing, but it can kick a bunch of newer and "better" cars. I like my cars, for me their not disposable.
I never said i wanted a 1.2 turbo, i simply said for a 1.2 ina big shell, like an octavia one would naturally assume that a 1.2 would be a joke, but as this proves small petrol engines are fighting back these days,, I cant think of any 1.2 diesel that would out perform this great vag engine, diesels are great so long as there working, when they decide to go wrong not an if its always going to be when, as with any car. they do go wrong they go in style
A co by jsi chtěl po 1,2 TSI prosímtě? :D :D.
Depend. If you take a N/A petrol engine with the same power (hp) than a diesel turbo, the petrol is going to be better at high speeds. The turbo helps you in lower speeds and rpm, but in high speeds and high rpm you simply can't beat a comparable petrol engine.
But a petrol goes fast but you don't feel the power. My 2.0Tdci diesel with modded ECU has 195Hp and 450Nm. It has amazing Power. This thing has 175Nm and i surely know it you don't feel any power. But still it goes pretty fast for so little numbers.
I have a YETI 1.4 TSI (130hp/220Nm) and speed difference it's about 3-4 km/h between GPS and dash speedo when going 100km/h so pretty normal situation. Here it's about 30km/h !!! so what da heck!? Tiny wheels on it or stock false and stupid clock settings ?
That's what you said! Nowadays every engine will die, if you don't put Quality diesel in it. For me, only Bp ultimate is the best! I have now 60 000 Km in my sporty Ford s-max and the engine is not getting louder, the gearbox is even smoother than before! You're just talking BS.
TSI petrol engine act like diesel it rev from very low rmp its not like atmospheric petrol. Just take engine specification everything is in there. Running the 1.2 tsi beyond 4000rpm to show acceleration when the engine band is between 1400-4000 shows people cant read manufacturer specification but they still test them and make money buy selling reports. LOL
seems too fast to be true. but the 1.2 tsi 110 is in fact not a bad engine and if you really rev it, you´re not far off the predecessor cars 2.0 tdi 140hp times up to a certain speed.
+4675636b596f755954 true, how its possible? This car 1200 kg and 110 hp does 100 in 8? Do i missed something or hp became bigger these days? Maybe it is 1,4 TSi not 1,2? For 150hp it would be all right to do this in 9 seconds.
The ST has always been serviced through out, driven hard, here an there, contended with piss poor roads,, if yours drove like new then im the king of england
Im shocked t.b.h 1.2 turbo. In an octavia shell.. Thats getman engines at their finest. Kinda puts my 3lt mondeo to shame really. MY ST was a good in its day. But economy takes president these days but its finding a car with reasonable performance thats economical. And i dont mean little dinky eco cars.. Diesel were on the scene but this dpf is an issue, petrol engines are fighting back..thats cracking for a 1.2 engine. That is the death of a big engine.
thats what im saying , its a 8 year old car id rather fuck it off than spend a furtune keeping an old car going. it already needs a clutch dual mass and slave cylinder to make it drivable, im not the kindest of drivers to my cars perhaps its as much driver fault as componnet fault, But the St has rock hard suspension everything goes bang when you hit the most tiny bumb, pot holes sound like i just snaped the shock in half,, its to harsh for londons shit roads, for which we pay a mint to use
+Martin Marťas Co by jsi čekal od 105 koní? Z 0-100 za 5 sekund? :D A brzy řadí? To není žádná stará točivá Honda, ale malej turbomotor. Myslím, že řadit v 6.000 ot. je akorát. Nad 6.000 ot. ten výkon už neporoste.
Force1Air taky proto to píšu , protože takhle se s tímhle motorem zacházet nemá právě díky turbu (a tím pádem kroutícím momenetem položeným nízko) nepotřebuje tolik točit
Further more since im stuipid i tought id point out that id never buy a ford again, the resale value drops like a stone, And if you do have a diesel ford More foool you, Ford may look nice drive well, but they start to rattle an squeek as they get old, there engines are generally dying by 100,000 miles, gearbox will fuck up before that,. Ford have had it, never for me, I paid 10Grand for my /ST i maintained it meticously, Recipts history, old mots, the lot, 6 years worthless old shitter
I would never get a 1.2 tsi on octavia, probably a fabia or polo but never octavia, you can see that the acceleration is poorly. Just get a 1.8 TSI or a 2.0 if you get a passat.
are you fucking nuts? it fucking does 0-100 in almost flat 8 seconds, check my video. It s 1.2 tsi 110 hp not 105, and yes the car is big but it weights only 1200 kg. it wipes the floor with a 2.0 tdi 140 for example. And has torque to pull you enough even ar low rpm
No it doesn't lol. 1.2 has lower torque, lower hp output, lower engine size, lower top speed. And it does 0-100 in 10.8 seconds (checked on internet) and 2.0 tdi does it in 9.7s and has a lot more torque.
+Andrei Vlad dude, I talk about real facts not about some shit paper facts. i drove the car for 5 k km and i dragged with skoda octavia II dsg 2.0 tdi 140 which happens to be a friend of mine, and i owned him from every single rolling start, as it was useless from standing still since he has dsg and would have lost bad. from 20 in first to 150 he is more than 2 cars behind. also dragged an a4 b7 2.0 tdi manual 4 times from stand still, he doesnt stand a chance, i pull away from him continiously. that 1.2 tsi, especially if the car doesnt have too many optionals to make it heavier, wipes the floor with cars of ~150hp.
fantastic acceleration for a tiny engime on big car
Very Good for such a small engine! I'm impressed!
and a pretty heavy car, it's like 1.5 tons
its a turbo...
Interesting fact, in Russia 1,2TSI 105 is supplied with 5-shift gearbox. None of the Skoda officials could explain the reason. But still it's a very nice power-transmission plant.
Yes, in Russia there are also 1,2 TSI with 105 HP with 5 gears. In Slovakia the 105 HP comes with a 6 speed transmission.
One thing is what you feel and the other is what really happens.
A simple test with 2 cars that i know extremely well.

Spolehlivost bude lepší než u starých TSI...a to nejen kvůli řemenu místo řetezu.

The long 6th gear is pretty nice
it's totally true i have this car and its really powerfull for 1.2 and 105hp
maximum torque :175 Nm (129 ft·lb) (17.8 kgm)
at 1550-4100 rpm
maximum power output :104.9 PS (103.5 bhp) (77.2 kW)

i would be happy with that sound of that turbo
that makes sense in a diesel, not in a petrol engine. Petrol engines need revs to go fast, because the hp are in higher rpm's.
This is not 1.2 . More like that it it 1.4 because if you turn stopwatch you will see 0-100 is in about 8 sec. and that is 1.4 performance. 1.2 needs 10.5 sec

1.2 tsi punch power is between 1400-4000. So whoever drives doesnt know when and how to shift. He shift the car after 4000.

Kolik 77kw nebo 63kw
great !!!
only 1.2 liters turbo engine and accelerates like a 2.0 atmospheric engine
unbelievable
85PS?
1,2 TSI 105PS, 6 gears,
1,2 TSI 86PS 5 gears - this is the very basic engine.
But a petrol goes fast but you don't feel the power.

+Digi20 13 seconds/100km/h too fast?
+Linas Serutkevičius i count 10 to 100 and 25 to 160, thats basically octavia II 2.0 tdi 140 territory.
+Digi20 starts form 0:22 0km/h, 100km reaches at 0:35, so its 13 sec and 2.0 tdi does 100 in 9,7 sec as i remmeber
+Linas Serutkevičius I followed the link from your comment: 0:35 is about 130 kph. It is doing 100 at the 0:30 mark.

Is good for a 1.2 liter engine, but is not "good". Do you know what I mean? Plus, I heard that 1.2 TSIs are not so reliable, idk about the new ones.

One of the worst engines VW ever produced. I might say one of the most unreliable engine ever.
It's a competely new engine with timing belt, not the old chain driven.
