As a twenty year old woman, you've helped me keep in touch with my interests that may be seen as 'childish' to others (such as dolls, barbie, cute things in general, etc.).
I've decided not to care what they think, and am planning a potential tea party with friends, fancy outfits and stuffed animals galore! ❤
I'm turning 35 this year and love dolls, not really a collector but I appreciate these types of videos and everything else cute and pastel. You should see how many My Little Pony shirts I have! My mom is shaming me for liking these kind of things and thinks I should grow up, but why? There are some awesome dolls and stuff of cuteness out there so I'm going to keep it up and show my daughter that it's nothing wrong with being a little childish as a grown up.

@@bleehh It's OK, I know how she works and sometimes I do these things to see her reaction and challenge her point of view by telling her there is nothing wrong with it. I want my daughter to be proud of who she is no matter what her interests are.
Hey I’m a collector and I’m about to turn 18.
I am 35, a doll collector, teddy collector (only stuffed bears not orniments) and a dolls house and miniature collector... i have a few toys i find cute and fun to have so collect them too... i also collect cartoons from my childhood as well as getting in to new ones now adays and also keep things from my childhood... do i care what people say nope never have... if i want to collect thats up to me and i am always happy to hear of other people who are in to them hehe XD... yes i am a 35 year old child at heart.... and i dont care ^_^
Miss Royale’s style is closer to that of the French Rococo style that is often linked with Marie Antoinette. It’s know for it’s pastels and over the top everything. ( I love fashion history so I had to point it out)
I cringed a bit when she said it was renaissancy and victorian haha love her nonetheless!
I was thinking this too. I watch a LOT of historical Costubers because I am really into historical fashion and I was like “It’s neither Renaissance nor Victorian.”

Major Lady does give off a Ziggy Stardust/Bowie vibe with the make-up, stars. lightning bolt, and jumpsuit. I don't listen to his music much but I recognize the style even just looking up photos of him.
Definitely agree! On top of what you mentioned, Major Lady sounds like a reference to Major Tom (a character in a Bowie song) and he had heterochromia as well.

David Bowie is my favorite singer, to be totally honest I feel a little insulted by the doll ripping from him Lol
@@alieninashoebox5500 it’s called inspo, and lol omg constantly references famous people. They literally did a Madonna doll, Marilyn Monroe, multiple Beyoncé’s, Ariana grande, and at least one Brittany spears doll. Also Elvis.
I use flat head pins to make doll earrings, so maybe you can use that to fix B-Gurl's earring

@NextJen Miss Royale's skirt cage is called a "crinoline" or "hoop skirt." It's used to fluff out the top skirt that's for show and the different names refer to slightly different shapes or materials of the skirt cage, as far as I know.
It is actually a pannier, which was worn during the early to mid 1700's to give the dress a wide appearance. Mostly worn with a robe à la française style gown.

If they weren't kind of sexualized it would be nicer though, the "sexy tan girl, plain pale girl" thing is kind of annoying, at least we get somewhat cute ones like BonBon I guess?

You could contact MGA online and ask them to send you a new earring. I was able to get a replacement doll one time when I contacted them with a quality complaint. As long as you tell them within thirty days of purchase, I believe they can help you. That pink color blouse

LoL dolls are cute, I love how colorful and different they are. But the number of defects that happen in EVERY lol doll video is just really sad. They aren't cheap, they need better quality control.
My thoughts exactly, I was More upset than Jen with the various defects, If you are paying 30+ dollars, you should not have yo fix anything
@@fuunosenshi 1. these dolls are slightly cheaper so more defects are going to arise 2. no OMG is 30+ dollars (minus the collector )so you saying that is scaring new collectors away from quality we haven't seen in a little under a decade (saying 25+ would be more accurate) 3. I feel like the high price range is fair and seeing as the price is in play-line rage you will get quality control issues , but the over-all quality makes up for it 4. YOU DON'T HAVE TO FIX ANYTHING MGA CUSTOMER SERVICE EXISTS AND IF YOU'RE IN THE ALLOTTED TIME YOU CAN GET A FLAWLESS REPLACE MEANT FOR ANY IDEM, INCLUDING THE DOLL!! (Also I made a mistake, I didn't think to remember that Jen is in Canada, but even so, it would still be a play-line priced doll so the only thing that doesn't matter if you don't live in the states is the price range part)
I agree with Boba Studio, the fabrics they use and all the accessories make up for any minor stitching flaws. If we look at other doll lines on the market today, none of them can compare. I just bought a Barbie Xtra doll and the accessories were ok but the hair quality doesn’t even come close . The two dolls are almost the same price. Also if you watch My World, she paid for a collector price Barbie doll and the earring on that one broke! I love Jens reviews but we must also keep in my how these dolls compare to what is currently out on the market.
Its not just the issues with the clothing. Paint defects, defects in the non-clothing accessories, occasionally glued together limbs and other things. This is s major corporation now, making a LOT of money. You're bound to find some minor stitching flaws in small pieces of fabric, I'm not as concerned with that. Consistent defects are an issue though, and shouldn't be excused no matter how good customer service is. Whether these are collector or play items they should still be quality checked before they go out the door. I don't think I've ever seen a single lol\mga video that hasn't had at least one non-clothing related defect, unless it's from a channel that just never points out flaws
And if other major brands in the market have similar consistent quality flaws that's an issue too. I don't expect everything to be perfect at all times. But I do expect glaringly obvious flaws to get caught more often than not when paying a decent amount for a product.
I feel like Lols are either gorgeous or completely hideous 😂 there is only one line that's a complete win for me and that's the present surprise. The packaging is even made out of cardboard - no unnecessary balls!

I'm so freaking proud right now! When Jen showed Major Lady's dance guide I couldn't resist singing Magic Dance from the Labyrinth, and then she said that she's inspired by David Bowie! And I mean, the cape just solidified it. Amazing reference from my favorite movie as a teen ❤❤❤❤

I really want to get Major Lady because of her red hair and heterochromia. The bright orange of the shoes and bracelet is a questionable color in her color scheme though. Just doing them in shiny or glittery silver to match the cape would have looked much better.
Colour theory wise orange was a good colour to go with. As she’s got bright orange hair, it helps tie the outfit to the doll.

The LOL OMG dolls are cute, but I haven't really seen one I particularly want until now. I have to get Major Lady. As a major (slightly obsessive) David Bowie fan, practically since birth 🤣, I can see all the references. The outfit style not only mimics one of his early 'circus' inspired outfits, but it makes reference to two others. The sparkly blue suit he wore in the video for 'Life on Mars?' and the really awesome outfit he wore for a fashion shoot. I can't remember what it was called off the top of my head, but it was a big black and white striped outfit that flared out to look a little like a vinyl record (at least that's what I see) at the legs. The shoes are a reference to his Spiders from Mars days when he wore a lot of moon boots and tye-dye leotards, as well as a small vibe of Hunky Dory? And the cape gives a little bit of a Major Tom vibe (as well as the name obv). The hair colour is also reference to the days towards the end of SFM and early solo career when he dyed his hair luminous orange. The lightning bolts are reference to the Aladdin Sane phase, and stars to his final phase 😭 Black Star.

It could be that the colours translate slightly different on camera. I also see her second eye as more of a teal colour.

I've never liked the "look" of those OMG dolls. The cutest faces on a doll I've seen lately are the NaNa Surprise ones. I asked for one for Xmas and now have 3! Lovely dolls with lovely clothes. I'm working (slowly) on making a sewing pattern for clothes for them.
If you’d like to fix that earring I’d suggest using the post of an old pair of studs and gluing it to what remains of the earring

Miss Royale gives me Madonna at the 1990 MTV Awards vibes with the Rococo fashion. Voguing is so cool and I like that they made a doll inspired by such an important part of gay culture. I really like her and Major Lady a lot.
I’m not sure if anyone said this, Miss Royal’s extra skirt piece actually goes around her neck, over her arms and is supposed to Velcro at her back. I think it’s supposed to be a collar/extra ruffled sleeves according to some pictures I’ve seen.
Right you are! In her Amazon ad photo, that is exactly how it's worn. However, it confuses ppl, I think, bc it's depicted as if it's meant to be worn as a skirt on the hanger within the garment bag

I wanted to tell you for some time now, that I am really thankful for your videos. Your reviews really calm me down, when I am feeling anxious. I like how structured and thorough you are with your reviews. Thank you for continuously making videos even though TH-cam tends to make things harder for your channel (for example by disabling the comments).

You can use a pin or a short piece of wire glued to the back of the earring. I'd say use a pair of nail clippers or something similar to make the back flush first, so you've got a fairly flat surface to work from.
I really dislike that there is such a high frequency of flaws. I mean, I remember flaws in the clothes of dolls as a kid, which means they could have been just as frequent, but I don't like the idea that most of the dolls have an obvious flaw or multiple flaws. It just strikes me as uncaring of the audience, just because they're kids.

These dolls are really growing on me. Love them or hate them, you can't deny that the fashions are creative and new. The stylists are pulling from mutliple eras, but none of the dolls looks like a direct ripoff of any particular brand or star. I'm really impressed. Whoever is the stylist for this line of dolls is just knocking it out of the park.

1 I frickin love ur videos 2 “semi transparent” with a tint of color is called translucent (I only say that so other people don’t come at you bc sadly that is the world we live in)
You can temporarily attach earrings and other small accessories with blue tack or something similar. I use this method for my Lps if they need to hold or wear something for a stop-motion scene. You could also try to glue a toothpick or a little bit of wire to the broken pice
I am trying to save my wallet and not collect them but lord help me, these are cute.

You could try krazy glue for that earring piece that broke off. I personally get scared using it, but I've broken tiny pegs on doll things before and it's the only thing that has worked for me.
Miss Royale's fan says extra on the back under black light. She is the first OMG I've gotten.
Pretty sure the additional stand attachments are just spares since they get lost often, and the wider attachment is for boys, presumably to avoid the problem Monster High had for example where there was a shortage of boy compatible stands.
I love LOL surprise and my favorite toy brand I am obsessed with them and I just love collecting them
