Hi there! I have just purchased today my new Rad E - Bike plus 5. Question: was the basket in front was it medium or large? I am contemplating placing my miniature Schnauzer dog in there, if possible. Can you advise, please? By the way, I subscribed ....

Recommend you get the suntour seat post ! Huge difference in comfort.

AND HOW !!! for an extra 10% to the cost of the bike it's a no brainer....I have them on both my bikes and one has a more comfortable after market seat as well. The Rad saddles are nothing special IMO.

as a Rad 5 owner I must point out that an Ebike is supposed to be a pedal assist bike and not a motorcycle. you should be peddling and limit your speed within a safe zone. large thinner wheels and a heavy bike can become unstable at high speeds when hitting a bump or rut that can cause serious injury to the rider.

Are you still satisfied with the bike? How many miles you have driven till now?

I have been waiting on a front wheel . For my Radcity 5. Since the 1st of December. It was on back order then. I guess it's sooo far on back order. They can't find any anymore. I guess I should have known better to pre pay the the front wheel.

      Hi Minnie,
Unfortunately, it's the shortage that affects the cycling industry. It is really hard to get bikes!

@@minniespad Have you got your front wheel yet? I have been waiting 3 months for parts. First ride on the bike and it died. Still have no idea if and when parts will arrive.

Great Video. Do you know if Thule Ride along child seat can be mounted? Frame mounted bike seat.

I believe so. If not, then you might want to remove the rear rack.

Your rear fender is mounted too high, use the holes lower down on the fender and put the relector in the emptied holes.

Rad is the only entity that calls a "750W peak" motor a 750W motor!!!
IMO, from what I've read/researched it's a 500W motor that can handle/deliver, like ALL motors, higher values FOR A CERTAIN PERIOD OF TIME. If you demanded the extra power (750) on a constant basis, like a very long upgrade....you'd eventually burn the motor out.
I have a 2019 Rad Mini with the same motor....call me suspicious that this is a "new" motor....it's a 500W geared hub motor. Lots more torque than the old gearless motor on the previous City ST....
The gearless is inherently more efficient that a geared hub motor, should last longer (no moving parts) and have greater range (although the greater wheel size on the new ST should lessen or cancel out this last point).
I also have a 2019 City ST....and I'm NEVER getting rid of it! I put three times more miles on the City than on the Mini....and now it's a "classic"! I certainly like the extra torque of the geared hub motor...but I absolutely LOVE the smoothness and dead quiet operation of the gearless.
Rad should have just come up with a new name for this latest version of what it calls a City ST.

Oh and I forgot one negative for me...the batteriess on my Mini and City are interchangeable (I could pack 2 batteries for a really long ride)....that would not be the case with the new City ST battery

I have a 2019 city also and agree with all you stated-have Bolton hydraulic brake and only small gripe is more torque on starting out especially with heavy load

@@randymaver2722 yeah, it's amazing Rad sold so many Rad Wagons, heavier cargo bikes, with the same gearless motor....they had to include dual front sprockets to make all that work.....now they gave up and put a geared motor on the Wagon. Makes sense and I can see how all that happened....but I'm glad I have my 2019 ST....it's a totally different experience from a geared hub motored bike IMO.

I have a 2019 RadCity 4 and on flat ground the direct drive hub motor is hard to beat. I like having the ability to regenerate as well. I ended up getting a geared hub bike for the hills.

@@LittleStar261 You and I have "collector" bikes now....I was surprised the company phased out the gearless motors in both the Wagon and the City lately. With the wagon going switching to the geared motor allowed them to delete the dual front sprockets (that were needed to move the heavier bike with the lower torque the gearless motor provided). That made sense.
When I first got my 2019 City ST I was on the phone to Rad complaining that the bike had no more "performance" than my existing bike (36V and 250W geared motor). Something had to be wrong!!!
It wasn't, it's the difference between geared and gearless electric motors. The former has lots of torque, the latter is way smoother, is more efficient (longer range) and will last pretty well forever IMO (no moving parts).
I also have a Rad Mini (geared motor) that I ride only in the bush.....for roads, bikeways, gravel multi use trails I ride the City. So much smoother power delivery you almost forget you're on an e-bike. I love it! The regen thing is not really an issue for me....the 275W of regen power for a minute or two going down a hill is not going to amount to much at all where I live/ride.
When you're on a e-bike people always want to ask you about "range"....that depends on so many factors it's impossible to answer....but my standard answer is: "I've spent a lot of time measuring this and can now report that the range of this bike is twice as far/long as I'm willing to sit on a bicycle seat for" ;););)....and I have a suspension seat post! which I highly recommend....a good/premium one is roughly ten percent of the price of the bike and worth EVERY PENNY....got 'em on both bikes. Cheers, F

Be careful with handling your e bike. If you have to order spare or extra parts. You will be waiting a l-o-n-g t-i-m-e. So far I have been waiting 5 months.
