Sh!t. I just realized that kite fighting is not only played in Indonesia, the other 3rd world countries do the same. So why there's no international kite fighting and kite chasing competition? It will unite 3rd world boys around the world.

This video only show the favela's reality, in Brazil, we have kites with so many types and shapes, each state have your own type. And exists the people who have more money than others wich fly more expensive kites. This game are very democratic here, all the ages, all the classes can play.

In Indonesia there season kite fighting too, usually during long school holidays. We use a special sharp thread for kite fighting called a Gelasan, when I was kid my palms were full of wounds because of the thread, when the enemy's kite lose, a lot of kids chased kite for trophy.

exactly... the size of the kites are too small... India and Pakistan professional kite makers make awesome kites... it does exactly what you want it to do... just a single string gives you control from bottom of the ground to heights of the skies... it sounds like a fighter jet when pulled fast.....
