At the very least Jiraiya feels the like most realistic version of a powerful ninja in the entire series, alongside Hiruzen. He has a very well balanced set of skills and a high amount of variety, and even though he is powerful with large chakra reserves, it's not completely over the top like Hashirama or Naruto.
Nerf everyone in war arc by 10x and I think power scaling is restored to reason.
The Gallant Rasengan was also the most badass Jutsu I had ever seen until the Pain arc. I mean it's only a basic Rasengan but that thing was like 4-meter in width lol

It won't be much of a buff, considering how strong Jiraya is in sage mode. However Kamui one-shots Jiraya, Kakashi takes a single look at Jiraya and Jirayas head is gone. If Kakashi is able to teleport THE ENTIRE 8TAILS, TELEPORTING JIRAYA ISN'T A PROBLEM. Jiraya doesn't stand a chance against Kakashi. Jiraya isn't even a perfect sage, but Kakashi beats Three-eyed Kaguya basically. And if you think that Jiraya still stands a chance you have gone crazy.

2:20 technically one advantage he had over Jiraiya is knowing that each Pain only has one type of ability. Many people overlook the fact that Jiraiya only retreated because he thought the Animal path, the Preta path and the Human path could ALL use all 3 abilities of the Animal, Preta and Human path.
This is confirmed later when he uses a fireball jutsu to confirm that they actually in fact each possess only one type of ability. From the moment he figured that out he proceeded to stomp the 3

The difference between jiraiya and kakashi’s fight with pain. Jiraiya was fighting the paths of pains alone in the rain village without any intel. Kakashi was fighting the two paths of pain while Pain was fighting the entire leaf village without home advantage.
Jiraya fought the weakest pains while Kakashi fought 2 of the strongest pains. I bet Jiraya wouldn't even figure out that there is an interval between shinra tensei which he can capitalise if he fought the diva path. Once the Ashura path showed up, everybody knew that Jiraya was dead then and there.

@@lemongrab556 dude Jiraya fought just 3 weak paths. Once the Ashura path showed up, it was clear to everybody that Jiraya is gonna lose or maybe even die if he doesn't retreat somehow. And that's what happened. If Jiraya wouldve fought the Ashura path and the diva path, like what Kakashi did in similar situations, then he would've died easily. Like Kakashi pulled out a lightning clone against the diva path and Ashura path combo but Jiraya ain't gonna be able to do such a thing because his fighting style is just like Narutos. Just charging in without any proper strategy or tricks before hand. Anybody who fights pain like that, especially with no much knowledge on pain, just like jirayas and Kakashis fights, is gonna lose unless they are somebody as strong as Minato or hashirama or somebody like that.

Kakashi Retsuden: The sixth Hokage and the failure boy, which is during Boruto. This shows exactly how ridiculous Kakashi is and he's at the age of Jiraiya by this novel.
Hint: He has this fire Jutsu that can cancel pretty much any other water jutsu. Notably ones boosted by Sage Chakra itself. You should really read it first instead of claiming without knowing. I don't like people like those.

Excuse you, Talk no Jutsu is far stronger than 1000 years of death. I mean, 1000 years of death is completely broken but Talk no Jutsu is easily the strongest jutsu in the series. Also, Jiraya possesses another very powerful jutsu called Spoiler no Jutsu which is shown to completely counter anything Kakashi can use

Nav Skrt orochimaru only really fought seriously against four tails Naruto, when his jutsu and arms were sealed. Against hiruzen he was mostly messing around, so I don’t really think we’ve seen anywhere near his full power either
Hippo Blob Honestly the good thing abt naruto is that there is no set answer. Orochimaru hasn’t really demonstrated good offense at all, it’s just he’s so hard to kill. If he did not have the immortality, against the 4 tails he would have died in the first couple seconds. i’m not saying he’s no strong but going off of what we’ve seen he has very little offensive skill.

He tried the moment he bought those two out. Still after all that he barely excaped with his life. People underestimate how hard orochimarv actually went. The man pulled out a hell of a forbidden juisu to wither him down to even stand a chance to fight him. He went as hard as he could have. Even then the third deadass almost beat all 3 of them. Orochimarv lucky he knew such a forbidden juisu.
Jacob H his forbidden jutsu wasn’t a last resort or anything though. He used it completely casually and they fought pretty much the entire fight. By the end he wasn’t even fatigued until his arms got sealed. If anything, hiruzen’s lucky he knew the reaper death seal, because that’s pretty much the only thing that damaged orochimaru the entire time

Man Jirayas style was very unique. He had brute force, but his intimidating flesh-based jutsus were so out of the ordinary that whoever dealt with him was scared on another level. Im sad we don't see this in modern Boruto and probably never will. Nowdays it's just very flashy with alot of glow and shiny effects. I can understand that they wanna hit a new market to make money, but man i miss the old unique stuff so much.

Yeah, there's a decent portion of that fight that wasn't shown on-panel. The Six Paths of Pain appear and do their cheerleading pose, and the next thing we see is a very tired Jiraiya and the Animal Path (now dead) inside the toad barrier/stomach thing. The implication being that Jiraiya still fought Pain for a bit at a clear disadvantage, and still managed to take out one of them.

Canadian sport_fan the way kishimoto did it was that the more stronger u got the more faster u got which is proven with sasuke,naruto,sakura,etc..lee and guy never really got stronger since the first show so that’s why they didn’t get any quicker and were the same speed the entire show (base forms)but even with that kishi always showed great respect to lee and guy”s speed.every fight lee had his opponent always acknowledged how fast he was including sasuke,kimimoro,gaara.rock lee is the fastest shinobi in the leaf for sure if everyone is in base.

The main problem in this fight is that I feel like a lot of charachter recived a little "plot power" that maid them stronger during the war arch. Jiraya died when actually fighting with Kunai was relevant. And being a ninja actually meant trying to be sneaky and not lauch a giant power explosion on people.

Lets be honest here while yeah legendary Sanin is a HUGE rank in terms of titles Hokage still beats that. Add on the speed rank that pre Naruto Chunin exams has would put Kakashi at dangerous levels even then in terms of speed. Keep in mind that Pain's summons were keeping Jiraiya running consistently. Not to mention Jiraiya at his prime struggled with Naruto 3 tails.
Kakashi was taking on 1 through like 6 tailed beast Jinjuriki paired 2.0's only sweating bullets and still confident he could at least stall.
Kakashi: Full arsneal; Rasengan, Lighting Blade, Eath style mud wall dog style, Sharingan +Kamui, Water style twin dragon jutsu, Lighting stream, Lighting clones, Hidden Mist jutsu, actually knows how to use multiple shadow clones as a combo like Naruto can.
And in terms of feats with Naruto Kakashi has survived like a encounter with like 4 or 6 tails.

What can Kakashi do without the sharingan?
- As it has been officially stated in the Canon novel "Kakashi Retsuden" Kakashi is now stronger than his war arc self, to make up for the loss of the Sharingan he learned many new powerful Jutsus including medical Jutsu and his Chakra has significantly increased.
-The New jutsu that he created "purple lightning" is so powerful that it can literally summon lightning and thunder from the sky as he did in "Kakashi hiden", it can be used like chidori and lightning cutter without the tunnel vision and it can even replicate Sasuke's current chidori sending bolts of purple lighting all around his body in an omni-directional attack.(1)
--In the Canon Novel Kakashi created another new jutsu called Fire style "Water Mist" which takes the form of a huge flame bird and moves at incredible speed to the opponent, this jutsu is capable of snuffing out massive water style even with the elemental disadvantage. He can also control this justsu to make the flame bird spit out fire and can release this Jutsu from his hand like his lightning hound

To be fair, I'd scale Jiraiya higher. You must also take into account Jiraiya's environment in that battle. I think Kakashi is more tactical, but I definitely think SM trumps him.

I think wartime Kakashi is not really Kakashi, but rather a sign of bad writing or at least writing out of the continuity. Kakashi’s relative lack of chakra is essential to his character, it is what makes him cool and not some OP cliche.
Kakashi can't copy Sage Mode techniques, though, can he? I was under the impression that some techniques won't work without sage chakra, but I could be mistaken.
Actually all elemental ninjutsu can be copied by the sharingan but jutsus that use things like the toad oil and stuff can't as Kakashi won't have access to the toad oil

Without Sage Chakra, how would Kakashi have the chakra type for the Sage Arts, which was established to be a unique chakra type from Nature Release? We also know the Sharingan can't copy blood-line releases like Wood or Ice, so all elemental jutsu can NOT be copied by the Sharingan. Did you even read Naruto?

U can't copy kekkei genkai with the sharingan that's evident from the anime but elemental jutsus can easily be copied as the basics of elemental jutsu is just to manipulate ur chakra to that element.

Jiraiya is fodder. He is overrated when it comes to scaling. There's no way he defeats Itachi and Kisame. He is the weakest of the sannin. Both Orochimaru and Tsunade stomp him. He is the weakest human sage mode user so far. Sage Naruto kills him. He is not even top 50 in the Naruto franchise.

Imagine seeing three reningan you’re going to think they all can use the full extent of it but in reality they can’t. Most characters probably would of said the same thing. Also he kills all three of them pretty easily, he was completely fine after and didn’t even look fatigue. That was a bad quote taken out of context. Also pain is his former student I’m sure he knows how strong Jiriaya is, there was no reason for him to say that he’d lose there unless it was true. We also haven’t seen sage mode Jiriaya’s full strength he honestly didn’t get to do much, even with one arm blitz past five of the pains, he’s also said to be able to destroy mountains in the data books. He only had one real fight and throughout the fight he was more or so trying to figure pain out. So tbh we really haven’t seen him fight 100% you can argue in sage mode he wasn’t going all out. Also isn’t it being inconsistent taking Jiraiya’s quote at face value when he said he was going to die but then beats them easily but when pain says he would probably lose then it’s just an exaggeration and probably false. Also you made it seem like the pains jiraiya fought were way below the ones kakashi fought (with help and still died btw). the summoning path is OP as hell asides from the diva path it did the most damage to konoha, the othe path absorbs jutsu making ninjutsu useless and a pain that can one shot you. War Arc Kakashi is one of the most broken characters. They multiplied his powers times 100 to put him on par in the battles or he would have been useless. He used to be KO'd by using 2 kamuis now he can spam it all day and be perfectly fine. Wtf
The Kamui thing is partially justified in that he was nearby Obito's Mangekyo Sharingan, and the proximity would boost their capabilities, as the eyes are exponentially better together.
Doesn't explain how Kakashi could spam Raikiri though, and how he could fight so many opponents for so long, and even defeat a Rinnegan-wielding Obito, among other stupid shit.
The war arc was pretty sucky in terms of consistency with the series.
Minh Duc Nguyen honestly the only thing that I could really give to that is maybe when Obito was rushing to save Kakashi and Rin you can see that Kakashi’s eye was transmitting information to Obito.
I can’t really buy that as a justification for why Kamui would be easier for Kakashi to pull off though. That only sort of makes sense when you have control of both bc you can “focus” both eyes on a single target
My thoughts are they just ass-pulled and scaled kakashi’s chakra up without an explanation bc they wanted him in some badass battles.
I think the war arc is also only like a month or two after Pain’s attack on the leaf village. So I can’t see him training extensively for a month or two and then having that boost his chakra efficiency to the war arc levels.
That because during the war arc kurama gave him chakra with which he could use the mangekyo easily.

I mean Kakashi has slightly better reserves than Itachi and he managed a Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, and Susano'o on top of whatever other jutsu in his fight with Sasuke while on his death bed basically. So it makes sense Kakashi should manage a few Kamui and Raikiri before running out of steam.

It's actually not such a big hype if u watch closely. All of kakashis major fights in war arc lasted very short. By the end of war arc when it was like Kakashi, guy, bee and Naruto vs obito was like the only battle which was really hard and prolonged to speak of. Then we obviously saw Kakashi tiring out and then recieving chakra from Naruto and later from sakura healing him. So it's not like Kakashi was in a HUGE fight for 2 days continuously. Most of the initial fights with the 7 Ninja swordsmen didn't even scale upto his fight with zabuza in part 1.

Ivan Hammel - Lee has a lot going against him since he only has 2 showings in part 2. First is getting embarrassed by a 30% Kisame, and the second is kicking Edo Tensei Madara in half. The second one should be impressive, but then you have to remember that he was Kyuubi amped and Madara couldn't move at the time.

It doesn't matter that way actually because Minato was much more inexperienced than many people he was clamping down throughout his lifetime.
Kakashi has an intellect which Jiraya could never scale up to even in his wildest dreams. Remember jonin and kage level charecters admired Kakashis skill and intellect when Kakashi was just 12 or 13. That's all thanks to Kakashis battle IQ.
Jiraya couldn't scale up to a fraction of that. Kakashis major weakness is his lack of chakra. If Kakashi had atleast half the chakra Jiraya did (pre war arc), then he would already be leagues above kage level.

My only input is that I dont think the sharingan can copy any senjutsu. So, any of Jiraiyas sage art techniques wouldn't be able to be copied.
Well we actually see Kakashi using his sharingan to copy stuff in part 1 against zabuza and later against kisame. All the other time he just uses his sharingan for using his raikiri and in late shippuden for Kamui. Jiraya has absolutely no chance against Kamui but Kakashi has enough and more Jutsu that can nullify any of Jirayas sage art elemental jutsus.
The only things Kakashi needs to watch out is not to get close to Jiraya. If he fights a mid to long range battle, Jiraya loses to pain arc Kakashi. All other versions of Kakashi below that get beaten.

And to talk about speed feats of Jiraya, it's only due to the buff he recieves from sage mode. Base Jiraya is not much of a speedster as we've never seen him do anything of that sort.
Btw in battle, I doubt Kakashi even lets Jiraya enter sage mode. He was able to do so against pain only because he could prolong the fight as long as he did. And he was fighting like only the summonings of the animal path which his own summonings could take care of.
That's not the case with Kakashi. All of Jirayas summons get finished with just one good shot of raikiri from Kakashi.
And knowing that his summonings are practically useless, I doubt Jiraya will even summon them.

When Pain fought Jiraiya, he was in his own village and no other destructions, his only focus is to fight Jiraiya.
On the other hand, Pain fought Kakashi in the fucking Hidden Leaf Village where so many elite ninjas (never to mention anbus and the Tsunade). What I'm trying to say is that Jiraiya fought a focused Pain than Kakashi.

ratman505 Lee doesn’t have a chakra nature. By extension of Lee, Neji (who could keep up with weightless Lee) also didn’t have a chakra nature (or at least never discovered/needed one). Most importantly of all, Shisui (and Itachi I guess, but especially Shisui) is only a fire nature, but one of the fastest characters of all time.

@@user-uj4gy8bt2b He might have mastered Perfect Sage Mode. Lot of characters got ridiculous power boosts in the War Arc, like Kakashi's chakra/stamina problems completely disappeared. So Jiraiya would have gotten a boost as well.
@@hiteshsharma1132 I don't think so. Because like Jiraya was a sage for decades before he fought pain. If he couldn't master sage mode all that time, I don't think he would be able to in such a short time from pain arc to war arc.
Jirayas main thing with sage mode is his durability. Unlike Naruto, Jiraya can fight in sage mode for a very long time.
In war arc that's what would have helped a lot. Also his hair Jutsu would have helped in restraining a lot of edo tensei shinobis to a great deal.
Also the fight with kinkaku and ginkaku would have been way easier with Jiraya in daruis company. Jiraya wouldn't accomplish much in the 4th company as they were going up against madara. Like even if there were a million Jirayas, it would hardly make any difference against madara.
There is nothing much Jiraya can possibly do other than that though. In the fight against obito he would just serve the same thing as guy served and nothing more.
That's mostly the reason why he was killed off before the war as Jiraya in war would just be mostly downplaying him.
The *important aspect* to consider here are the intentions of Kishimoto. And it's clear that while Kakashi is an elite ninja, the mere porpuse of Jiraiya was to set the bar higher and be above his level.
For Kishimoto, Jiraiya it's clearly superior.

True, but still Kishimoto decided to honour Kakashi with the Hokage title, meaning he believed Kakashi had gotten to a true elite level.
I came to comment something like this. We don't see base Jiraya fight much because for much of the series he's basically Superman compared to any ninja below Orochimaru-tier. It would've hindered Naruto's development to have him come in and squish Kakazu or come in and squish Gaara. Unfortunately the only time we could really see him go all-out he's up against the rinnegan with no intel, to which Pein himself says if he'd had more intel, the outcome would've been different. The best rod that we have to measure base Jiraya with is that he was able to hinder and seal a rampaging Naruto with a 4 tail cloak, and although he nearly died doing so, admitted that he still wasn't trying to combat or overcome Naruto.

Dude kakashi didn t fight alone vs 2 strongest :)) and "almost killeď them ur so biased u have no idea.He fought just agains the Strongest path and got pushed,then he changed with his clone and once the second strongest came to help the Deva path that clone got insta killed,then he GOT help from another Jonin and another Chunin.While fighthing against the Deva,he was helped, there you are right,but he never fought against the two strongest,the second the Machine Path =))if i can call it that ,he got insta killed.The only time he fought alone was like 30 seconds tops against Deva path

The fight between jiraiya and pain and kakashi and pain are two completely different situation.
First of all Knowing that the enemy had linked vision beforehand is a very big advantage.
Two. When the battle started jiraiya was mainly on the defense because he wanted to enter sage mode which requires him to summon the toads. To do this he had hold his hands together for a couple of minutes preventing him for weaving any hand signs which was clearly why he wasnt attacking at first.
He was outnumbered three to one unable to weave any hand signs against linked vision pains, with special summonings like the bear with the reproducing heads, invisible summoning . What could kakashi do to stop the summonings while being constantly on the run(seeing that he cannot even kill the bear)

When jiraiya was fighting pain, remember he was fighting his student,while kakashi was purely focused on analyzing the enemies strengths and weakness (you know being the genius he is), jiraiya was also trying to find out which one was nagato , what happened to the others etc.
Note this is when the six paths of pain assembled and one of jiraiya’s arm was chopped off. Then he was still able to kill the summoning pain after traping her in one of his toads mouth underwater. Even tho while killing the pain he got stabbled with one of the chakra rods.
Plz note. At this point the pains could no longer sense jiraiya in the toads mouth and he could have gotten away as he was far underwater but he chose to go back to get more intel even tho one of his hand was gone.
If jiraiya wants to beat kakashi then it pretty simple. Enter sage mode and hit him with multiple summonings and ninjutsu till he’s all worn out.
Kakashi isn’t anywhere near jiraiya in chakra reserves in sage mode which basically makes kakashi ability to copy ninjutsu useless. Knowing this kakashi would rather try to evade than to try and cancel out his attack
Even tho kakashi went against the two strongest offensive pains, that’s still just two and he wasnt able to take them out alone, he didnt have any invisible summonings or multiheaded bear that multiply everytime you hit it....(like what would kakashi use to counter that ....kamui???yh right......like he could kamui something that big ...he couldn’t even get out of obitos space time without the nine tail’s chakra and was totally drained after and it was also the kamui that killed him in his fight with pain to protect choji .

Hate to break it to you, but Jiraya was overrated af, and his last fight which was supposed to show his strength, just solidified the fact that he was weak af, at the end of the day he was tossed aside like any otherside character in this show. Blame it on the poor writing that hyped him beyond the expectations.
