  • Part 1: Accessories
    This vid has a quick rundown on the accessories you need for the GoPro Hero 7 to get ready for taking it spearfishing.
    This is the first vid in a series - How to Use the GoPro 7 Black (for Spearfishing)

    External Hard Drive:
    Don’t use your internal storage to store video files as this will slow your system down. Label your video files in a way you will remember and put them into files. At least as a basic idea try 3 folders for each trip; Top Shots, B-Roll, Meh. Everything else can go in the bin. This one amzn.to/30XOH03 is WD 8TB, its USB 3 and well priced:)
    Decent PC for editing:
    You need a fast rig with a good video card to create nice vids. If you make good video’s people other than your Mum will watch and lets be honest, YoungBloods & Daniel Mann need some competition. Be extra specially careful with your PC choice if you are considering filming and editing in 4K.
    Spare Batteries and Charging Station:
    You can only expect 45-90 minutes juice out of the GoPro 7 Black battery so having some spare Batteries for a full days diving is crucial. If you take a look at third party brands, check out Wasabi or Smatree but I bought the GoPro branded ones.
    GoPro Spare Batteries (3) and Charging Station amzn.to/2JQuALL
    Wasabi Dual Batteries and Charging Station amzn.to/2MoRQTk
    Smatree Spare Batteries (3) and Charging Station amzn.to/2WAF6ga
    Supersuit:
    The Supersuit (not Smart Suit) keeps your shiny new GoPro safe and watertight to 60m. It also keeps out dust and protects it from bumps and scratches.

    SD Card/s:
    The GoPro 7 Black demands a high speed/high reliability SD card. No matter what card you buy, reformat it often.
    SanDisk Extreme Pro V30 card amzn.to/2WyUKZr
    Lexar 1000X u3 amzn.to/2QBk8Za
    Delkin 1900x V60 amzn.to/2QE6TH3
    64GB is perfect for about 2 batteries worth of footage (at 2.7K)
    Headstrap:
    This is arguably the best 1st person mount for spearos.
    GoPro Head Strap amzn.to/2WitPSo
    Chin Strap Head Band Combo from Mako tinyurl.com/yx...

    Do you not like the masks with a gopro mount built in? I use a Cressi action mask and have the super suit screwed into it. Once you set the angle of the super suit on the mask then it's fixed in place and you have the same angle every time you dive. I found it really useful, might not be great for everyone but could help?

      Yeah I thought about that too, they seem popular but I've never used one. If you bump your head (caves, overhangs, weed etc), does the mask flood?

      I haven't had any problems like that, only been using it for a year. For me its been worth the money

      @@ryane8881 cool TBH I've has little to do with them so I was hesitant to recommend any. Thanks for the suggestion:)

      Quick Question- Do you ever have a hard time knowing if camera is on or off between dives. I can't hear the beep with my wetsuit hood on.

    • @ryane8881
      @ryane8881 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@augolden1 sometimes, I make sure the beep sound is high. I'm also not splashing around when I press the buttons and I can hear well enough but yeah can be tricky sometimes

      Hey Elkanah, cheers man. I used Movavi for this video but now I use Davinci Resolve

    Do you recommend the go pro headstrap for scuba diving?

    • @NoobSpearoSpearfishing
      @NoobSpearoSpearfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah for sure. You are less likely to flood your mask from the GoPro hitting a cave roof or wreck etc. If you have an integrated mask with GoPro mount this can happen!

    Hey can you tell me how much you angle the gopro downwards?, Because i just saw my own footage and half of the video my gopro was above the water line and its really frustrating

    • @electricgutiar
      @electricgutiar 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ps i also use a head strap

      I'm still adjusting myself. I had mine pointed too far forwards. Get a mate to look at it side on and make sure it's more or less flush with your mask lenses then put your hand up and feel how it's sitting. You should be able to fine tune it a bit in the water yourself after you have the feel for where it should be. Hope this helps
