Where I live in Manchester ( United Kingdom), people used to sit in a pub carpark right near the airport. The landlord got wise to this and made people pay to " plane spot". £5.00 a time each! So mean!

Love this. Every time I visit LA, as soon as I hop in my rental car I go to the SBUX one block up from where you were - on Sepulveda and La Tijera. It’s nice and soothing, plane-watching from that elevated porch, sipping iced coffee.

One of my favorite parts of traveling is visiting new airports and plane spotting from them and seeing different airlines. I live in Toronto and although it’s not too bad, we only get one A380 (Emirates). LAX is badass.
Nice! I grew up there; Westchester. We would park our cars on the landing path and watch them come in. I still remember the first time we saw a 747. None of us could understand how it stayed aloft. LOL
I remember when I was 10 my parents brought me to mcdonalds which was next to the airport for the party and to plane spit at the same time....great day

I know it was designed with that kind of route (Los Angeles to Inchon) in mind. American carriers don't want it since we don't maintain infrastructure in airports as close to what most other major nations do. Enough A380-8s and runways and support equipment crack and collapse due to the sheer weight and wheel needs of those big planes. The whole order book for that plane could close after less than 1000 units since sadly enough it has not taken on its role as the next generation mass transport tarmac saving model.
