I loved them! At first, I mean, but looking back and seeing the seasons again with a more practically view has made me question them as a couple. Now, it was like they forced them to be together, I think they would have been better off as Best Friends than lovers! Don't get me wrong, I love the show and love its character but in the end, everything seemed like a farce and death. We never really got to see anything of Castle's past, everything was about Beckett and her mother's murder that drove the show. I loved it when the show could show Castles past and when it was about him, creating more depth to his character than his playboy image.
You're right, but they let you see his past too. It's not all about Kate's mother. But you have to put attention, or watch twice every season to have an idea of EVERY single thing.

They did , she said she was sharing a cab with demming in overkill, sharing a cab in newyork meant they were sleeping together, it's euphemism. So she just breaks up with demming after having so many nights with him so she can be with castle, not a chance . Watch the overkill ,season 2 episode 23 , u will hear the hints and subtext that she was sleeping with demming

Something else that makes me laugh about this joke of a show is, how Brennan asked her partner to look into her mother's case, and he then helped her solve it. Whereas Castle did without Beckett knowing, then telling him again and again not to.
