@@pthespidey5057no it doesn’t, I work at a tech repair shop and the ps5 consists off a xlay scanner which reads the disc and the other transfers is, it’s done the same way both sides so either way you put it it doesn’t damage the disc.

Its just that the ps 5 wasn’t planned as much as the ps4 and hence they said that the disc is upside down even when it’s straight

You would think Sony would have a gyroscope sensor built into the console to tell you the console wasn't in correct orientation! I don't have a PS5 currently, but when I do, I prefer the vertical orientation because I think it looks stupid in the horizontal position!
Yeah its ugly in horizontal but i almost knocked it over while it was vertical so i wouldnt recommend vertical.

It’s a great console, but I got a PS5 in the end because I already had a PC with the SX controller and PS still offers me some great exclusives, and this way I saved more in games, because I had a lot of PS4 ones. Enjoy your monster console.

Microsoft Xbox is a win for games that were on PS3 and classics and the PS5 is good for PS4. In terms of backwards compatibility I'd give it to Microsoft but games would be Sony.
My ps5 plays ps4 games perfectly but shuts down 20 min in on ANY ps5 disc and I have to unplug the damn thing...I left rdr2(PS4disc) on for literally over a month....put in Diablo ps5 disc and shuts down within a half hr

I got an old beat up PS3, sliding door top load primarily to play Football 2K8, it stopped playing Assasins Creed Black Flag, my favorite game and it won't play Grand Theft Auto 5. Other than that it plays almost all the games for PS3

I've seen vids like this waaaay before i got my PS5. So I never ran into this problem. Even the Xbox Series X has the same orientation for disc insertion. Either put the disc in with your left hand or right hand with the disc flipped. So that the bottom is facing your wrist.

I already had that problem with my ps5 when I tried to play PS4 games. Also I tried to play that PS4 game not Spider-Man, but the other game you had yeah, I tried it but it didn't work when I put the disc the right way. To be more specific, I'm talking about that Near game you had.

@@paytonturner1421 perhaps you can check your region settings? I’ve not encountered any issues running ps4 games on the ps5. In fact i only have 2 ps5 games and my entire library of 30+ ps4 games all run great on the ps5

And I'll be a bit blunt here, people really need to learn how to position the console correctly AND the disc. A manual was in the box for a good reason, same as the Sony website. 🤦🏾♂️
I think the burden lies in the designer actually. If 50% of users are making this mistake it just screams “bad design”

If you need to turn your discs upside down it means your ps5 is upside down! You need to flip your ps5 over if not it will overheat and die if you keep it running that!

Same thing happened to me,after 6 years my ps4 gave out,so instead of buying another ps4 I decided to buy a ps5,and I wasn’t able to play ANY of the physical neither the digital games that I had on my account,never felt so scammed in my entire life.

You have to put the disc the other way you put it in but I wouldn’t recommend because the ps4 disc will damage your ps5 when you finish downloading the game then playing
Shiny side down is the correct way. Any other way will damage your machine in the long run.
