    Be sure to check out the first part of this video ( • Firewood with my MS 26... ) where I am clearing trails of downed trees and making firewood with the ms 261 c-m stihl chainsaw. In this video I use the RuggedMade 37 ton log splitter with the 4 way and 6 way wedge to split up those rounds and put on the trailer to haul to the woodshed.

      It definitely is satisfying when the wood splits nicely

    Are you satisfied with this splitter and how much this one cost?

    • @foggyvalleyacres
      @foggyvalleyacres  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, it’s a good splitter for the cost, it definitely has a few small flaws but overall it has been a great splitter so far.

      @@foggyvalleyacres What flaws you've seen so far?

      Nothing major, just some small flaws. The electric start on the raven is kind of a waste, it seems to struggle turning it over fast enough to start it sometimes, but pulls super easy so I don’t even keep a battery on it now. The 6 way wedge is hard to use because you have to clean the wood out every split or it keeps working it’s way up and off so I pretty much stick with the 4way. It has to be pretty level or it blows oil out the overflow so it’s hard to find a spot in the woods sometimes. For the price they are pretty minor and easy to work around.

    That’s some good looking wood,, what is it?

    • @foggyvalleyacres
      @foggyvalleyacres  ปีที่แล้ว

      Elm, it usually doesn’t split that easy but it was a tree that had just fallen and temperatures were down below zero with wind chills -20’s so it split pretty easily for being elm.

    Nice setup, how big can you go with it, log size ?

    • @foggyvalleyacres
      @foggyvalleyacres  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve done a few 30” pieces of maple and that was the tipping point of the splitter, I had to help balance when I used the log lift. It split them no problem but it still takes a little man handling when you get rounds that big until you get them split into 4 pieces.
