Yet with every action, every battle, every scheme we fall short of victory. And because of this we have turned against each other, called each other out for our weaknesses and sought to undermine and overthrow each other. Why? Because we are doomed to fail? No… it is because of our failure to comprehend the true threat of the eternal conflict, mortals. They may seem insignificant but through time and again they have managed to contain us in ways not thought possible. So today we stand before one of those mortals who have once again managed to decimate our armies, thwart our plans, and meet us face to face. That's why it's the "Endless Conflict". Although Angels can be corrupted and the songs their give rise to their rebirth have been increasingly filled with discordant notes.
They are fighting for control over the world stone. They all want to make their own ideal worlds, but they need the world stone to make and maintain them.
Mephisto: Oh, no. I’m defeated and my essence is divided and with no way into sanctuary and probably going to be absorbed by one of my siblings again. What I’m going to do? i dont understand the logic of the game, when Diablo can be resurrected multiple time (of course), then in D4 we got Andariel and Duriel appear as boss, Mephisto for sure will comeback as we see at the end, his soul or essence still recover in hell, and even an Optional Boss like Astaroth even we kill him at atc II he still appear in Hell like nothing happen and making joke with Lilith - mean that all of them cant be killed for good, unless their essence was consumed by other, as we see Lilith want to consume Mephisto - BUT when we defeat Lilith they say she is dead?
True, i just dont give a single idea why protagonist believed Mefisto. He said - "If she get my essence then Sanctuary is lost". But why would she destroy this world if she is the one who created it.???
Damn i think mephisto planed everything from the beginning from helping the little girl with opening the portal to many other things just to be trapped in the soul stone and have more freedom... sho knows maybe he used his daughters to and Elias for this master plan... Aizen 2.0..
The best manipulator doesn’t use lies but as much truth as possible to persuade the other side, he doesn’t give any promises. He said it himself that they’ll be enemies again in the future. However one could say if they set him free right then and there Mephisto would’ve just killed or corrupt them instantly. Very cunning indeed, just as how the devil in Christianity often lure people to sin with proposals of achieving something greater than god.
Diablo 5 and Diablo 4 Mephisto DLC Theory I believe in the Mephisto DLC, the Wanderer will ally with a Nephilim to defeat Mephisto, Baal, and Diablo. However, the Nephilim is actually one of Lilith's followers and a friend of Elias. Events after the DLC, the "evil" Nephilim worked to defeat the Prime Evils and ensured their total control and rule over Sanctuary creating an Empire as a result. Other nations began to create more Nephilim and Nephilim war begins in Sanctuary. Mephisto has room to manipulate the war for Diablo 5. Diablo 4 reminds us of Sanctuary's creation. Diablo 5 reminds us of Uldyssian and why the High Heavens and the Burning Hells feared the Nephilim.
Mephisto and pretty much everything felt so much darker and evil in D2, remember mephisto's voice and his speech about the burning standards of hell in D2? That was on a far different level than this.

Mephisto is the most intelligent prime demon : Diablo, Baal are just brutals. Mephisto is not as strong as them but he is the smartest. He used the death of his daughter Lilith for his own purpose. Now we must stop him in October
Mephisto represents what Lucifer would show on the outside when he's trying to sell someone a deal before suddenly showing them the fine print after they sign it.....if he is the Prime coming back in the expansion it would make sense because of the 3 Prime's his host was probably the most unremarkable he just used the current head of the council of a city he fully controlled if he wanted an Ideal vessel it would've been Khalim who was the only priest able to resist his influence fully .....Diablo used the body of Aiden the one who defeated him (which was his plan with how he setup the labyrinth) and Baal used Tal Rasha who was stupid enough to believe he had to use his own body to contain the demon .....if they'd left him alone in his crystal in that alt dimension he would've ended up with a weaker vessel
What if Neyrelle was compelled by mephisto to do the stupid thing she did? It seems like in this cinematic that her arms get affected by mephisto in the process of absorbing his essence in the soul stone. What if the whole idea of going to the tomb of Akurat(?) was mephisto manipulating and giving her that "brilliant" idea?
Why does Mephisto run like a wolf apart from his soul? If all this time their essences and avatars could exist separately, what was the point of locking Evil in stones at all? And in general, why did the incarnations return separately, and not as the Prime Evil? There are a lot of gaps and inconsistencies in this game.
True at the very least their power is drastically decreased but they still can contact mortals through visions and dreams. Overtime they seemingly get stronger. It's like a Crime Boss that has connections outside of prison.
as it was explained earlier, the black soulstone was what held them together via the binding spells on them and the being anchored to it. With it being destroyed the sum of all the evils as the prime became 7 separate again and are free to go about their own ends. As to how and why the avatar? I can only guess that while he is reforming and that for the duration his manifest form is reflecting how capable/strong he is in the moment.

5:16 this moment, when the wolf lazily clips through the bottom of the portal is a visual representation of this game’s writing.
a human holding the stone we all know the consequence
At 02:16 that glyph on the ground is identical from the one in Warcraft 3, where Archimonde traces it out to destroy the mage towers.
you mean dalaran.
What’s crazy is I didn’t even notice this was Steve Blum at first.
Mephisto is super bad ass in this game
Come on Nyrelle, have you not learnt the lesson and tragic story of Adian the Dark Wanderer and Tal Rasha? Carrying the Soul Stone with you shall only have one ending. Your eventual death and ruin, and the revival of the Lord of Hatred!
hey, atleast mephisto now has his own new vessel, diablo and baal couldn't be the only ones with possessed corpses, he wanted one aswell
Neyrelle = Sankekur 2.0.
Long may he reign, its about time the prime evils showed hell who is boss
She has the power of "THE MESSAGE" on her side.
Nothing bad can happen to her.
That's what I'm saying atleast one of the expansions will probably be us having to kill her and put mephisto back in his hell Cucoon we took him outta.
Humanity's evil grandpa 🥲
The wolf's so cute
We will defeat Lilith and Elias, but first, I demand nose boops and scritches.
"that's a neat little trick you do, you move your mouth and I hear Steve Blum's voice come out of it"
Nyrelle heading north at 12:49 but then she was like oh shit wrong way then proceeds to head south at 13:09
“Am not Lord of Hatred! Am Heckin’ Doggo!! >;D”
And that’s how we all were tricked into helping the Lord of Hatred
$5 she becomes possessed by Mephisto.
Oh I see it happening as well. Genius thinks she can walk around with a Prime Evil's soulstone without consequences. Zero heros have succeeded in keeping one long term so why the heck did she think lugging one across an ocean was a brilliant idea.
Mephisto confirmed
I hope the dlc is about imperius who still hasn’t gotten over getting his cheeks clapped by diablo
Aww daddy phisto just wants to help us 😊
puppy phisto 🥰
gut feeling that the dlc will be on set on the land of the rising sun
Japan?
You're actually kinda right..were going to Xiansai which is literally japanese themed
@@sy-ky_buddy4603 Pandaria 2.0? They really want the Chinese market.
@@sy-ky_buddy4603 xiansai is Chinese af, my guy.
I prefer his voice from Diablo 2 where he gives his speech opening the portal.
Agreed. Paul Eiding did a fantastic job as D1's narrator and Mephisto in D2.
It’s all fine and dandy till diablo finds out his big bro is in a funny blue gem
I love the voice but that must be Steve Blum who also voiced Grunt in the Mass Effect trilogy. And Rexxar in Warcraft.
That doggy could of been Diablo, but Mephisto steps in knowing Diablo always gets his ass kicked?
could have
Well, it’s his daughter…
Diablo is a bat, Baal is a howl and Mephisto is a worlf.
Bro Imagine the final boss of the expansion being all prime evils working together.
Mephisto: “Brothers, for ages to come we have been battling the blasted angels of the high heavens to secure our rightful places in this world, to control what was meant to be ours. But no more shall we be cast aside by mortals the likes of you.”
Mephisto: “For we the Prime evils of Hatred-“
Baal: “Destruction-“
Diablo: “and Terror…”
All three: “ Cast you into oblivion!”
Hell yeah, what a memorable fight that would be.
They're going to backstab each other again, they can't escape from their nature
One thing I asked myself a while back, Angels and Demons in the Diablo universe can't die, their souls just manifest new bodies... So what's the point of fighting?
the point is the Friends We Made Along the Way... I guess...
That's why it's the "Endless Conflict". Although Angels can be corrupted and the songs their give rise to their rebirth have been increasingly filled with discordant notes.
One, because it’s in their nature. Two, we see that there are ways around it. You can trap/contain demons and corrupt angels.
@@GunmetalRaven Eternal Conflict*
They are fighting for control over the world stone. They all want to make their own ideal worlds, but they need the world stone to make and maintain them.
In the book Faust, Mephistopheles first appears to faust as a black poodle
Ahhh this Diablo 1 and 2 music references hits to hard 💔🥹🥹
When i first heard the voice of the wolf, i REALLY thought it was Zultan Kool lol.
Wish they had got Col Campbell back as Mephisto.
This guy sounds better I’m sorry
All of this is funny, considering Mephisto, lore wise, is known for being the master tactician. Convincing us to believe he wants "peace" lol.
It's more that for now he's the least bad option
@@ryanmoore6259 Nah, he is FAR worse than Lilith.
0:30 stay awhile and listen
Now Neyrell must take the one ring to mount doom... I mean soul stone... lol
Watch her socket it to her forehead.
We need a Mephisto boss fight....this year ? or a continuation of the story? though it seems the dlc could have a part of it.
Mephisto:
Oh, no. I’m defeated and my essence is divided and with no way into sanctuary and probably going to be absorbed by one of my siblings again. What I’m going to do?
Wouldn’t it be convenient if an Ungrateful Daughter and a Foolish Angel I really hate escaped from Hell into Sanctuary, reinvigorate their Cults and conveniently kill each other while some traitorous liutenent ended trapped in a Soulstone some foolish Mortal would use to take into Santuary?
But that would be difficult. And if either Inarious or Lillith survives. I would be in a really woozy then….Unless some nice hero would do me the favor of killing the survivor. That hero ridding that horse over there seems nice. Would be a shame if that horse died, that would leave the poor Hero with need for someone to point him the way to go…..

I just wonder what would've happened if you joined Mephisto. So sad you had no option to choose whether to join him or Lilith. ^^ But I loved his role there. Since he's a tactican. I am sure he planned to get trapped into the soulstone.
mephisto is evil like his brothers.
Oh no... so we wouldn't get a new love story 😖🔥

The only scene it's missing is the one within a replication of Travincal from the city of Kurast. It's also playing the Travincal zone soundtrack composed by Matt Uelmen.
Leaving the fate of Mephisto to be decided by an NPC seems like a lost opportunity or unimaginative design... 🤔

Mephisto The Odium
@
Also mephisto: Don't let your hate for me blind you to common sense.
i dont understand the logic of the game, when Diablo can be resurrected multiple time (of course), then in D4 we got Andariel and Duriel appear as boss, Mephisto for sure will comeback as we see at the end, his soul or essence still recover in hell, and even an Optional Boss like Astaroth even we kill him at atc II he still appear in Hell like nothing happen and making joke with Lilith - mean that all of them cant be killed for good, unless their essence was consumed by other, as we see Lilith want to consume Mephisto - BUT when we defeat Lilith they say she is dead?
Man I wish they brought back the Colonel to play Mephisto.
He's helping you because he knows you are Diablo.
Wait! Can anyone tell me why the player has to fight Lilith? She actually helps people fight against hell. Why are we helping Mephisto???
True, i just dont give a single idea why protagonist believed Mefisto.
He said - "If she get my essence then Sanctuary is lost".
But why would she destroy this world if she is the one who created it.???
@@bi__tw1097 he oviously lies. I wish there were an option to serve mother 😂
Then you'll be disappointed by the epilogue. They're all evil anyway, just different shades and degrees of evil
Her power corrupts.
Watch the part which the monk got eaten by the wolves. It reveals mother's true plan for the sanctuary. She doesn't care about the weak.
I could hear steve blum before mephisto even opened his mouth
Did anyone else initially think the dog was Zultan Kuule, cause ya know its the same voice actor
F(igure runs away with a soul stone of a Prime evil in their person) Points finger and says i've seen this one before.
soon my buddy returns mephisto
Diablo 5 and Diablo 4 Mephisto DLC Theory
I believe in the Mephisto DLC, the Wanderer will ally with a Nephilim to defeat Mephisto, Baal, and Diablo.
No way they fit Baal and Diablo into 1 expansion. I think each prime is gonna get their own big expansion
Mephisto and pretty much everything felt so much darker and evil in D2, remember mephisto's voice and his speech about the burning standards of hell in D2? That was on a far different level than this.
She's going to Talk Rasha herself. That's why she said if she's right, they'll never meet again. That's why it she's taking a boat. To get back to Lut Golain(probably spelt it wrong)
how in hell will he talk with Rasha, he's dead on Diablo2 LOD
@@TuthyTuts think he means she's going to do what tal rasha did. Stab soulstone into her and have some other folks seal her away in some hidden tomb somewhere
If there was Diablo 5, I bet the protag in D4 will become Memphisto's vessel.
Or Neyrelle will be second Leah.
Most likely the latter will happen.
Where have i heard Mephisto's voice before? I think it is similar to the Green Ur-Quan from Star Control 2.
The only prime evil with common sense
You're too late! Hahahaha
My brothers have escaped you!
Didn’t Mephisto lure them into thinking that Lilith is the enemy when he said, if Lilith took his essence, sanctuary is lost even though Lilith’s plan is to save sanctuary from the prime evils
She is the enemy. All she was going to do was destroy the angels and turn sanctuary into another hell.
Starscream is that you?
Where is tyrael?
dead as he became mortal
He is still mortal from d3 lol
Gone but not dead, he left the remaining Horadrim, this happened before Elias gone bad.
Why’s this thing look like the bear from Annihilation?
@@chromeshellking I still don’t get how Adria got the prime evil essence such as Baal mephisto and the lesser evil into the black soul stone
@@Jasongy827 in her writings she described the spells and rituals she used and in Mephisto's case she remarked if she had fucked up a single thing in it she would have failed and paid a massive price for it. Otherwise she just simply marked each one and added to Zoltun's work as the anchor.
Mephisto managed to corrupt the entire church of Zakarum while imprisoned in a soul stone, he seems to maintain some power even while imprisoned
