Aye man I wanna thank you and Mach. Pray for hati was the one album I kept coming back to and leaning on after my dad died. Never stop! Love and prayers to y’all👌🏿
The way you do your break downs is so valuable. No screen, no plug-in presets, no piano roll, nothing technical. The way you leave all that out and focus on sound and feeling is what people really need to see. These are excellent
Dude I clicked on this expecting some matter-of-fact breakdown of a production process and within a minute it's this deep, personal, emotional, introspective view being explained. Instantly made me more intrigued and an even bigger fan of the craft
That first loop sounds like the audio version of schizophrenia so I can see how it can induce a panicked reaction. That flutter effect (maybe the 606) adds a little bit of mania to your beats. It’s like one of those dreams where everything is normal but something feels off. Like some ghoul could pop out at any time, like a looming jumps scare that never happens. Same feeling you get when you watch Atlanta
I love hearing the stories behind my favorite tracks you’ve been involved with and as someone who regularly can deal with anxiety attacks your story of creating out of those feelings is really inspiring and something I will try and do moving forward. Thank Westside and Mach and Keisha for me, Griselda forever, FlyGod forever. 🙏
Peace man, this is one of my favorites with Mach and West, and seeing the emotional place that this instrumental came from really is surreal. To me, Pray For Haiti was a huge moment in the year for hip hop in 2021. I remember hearing WSG say “wait till you hear pray for haiti” on Westside Gunday in April and I got more excited for a release that I maybe ever have, and it met every expectation. You’re such a huge part of that to me and I really appreciate how much you’ve shared of your process. Makrel Jaxon is my favorite on the record, I’d love to hear a little of the story behind that beat. Genius to use the sample saying “c’est meilleur to switch the lingo”, boils down all the switches between English and Kreyol on the whole album.
I don't know how it hasn't happened before because apparently he's been uploading but the algorithm really blessed it today THE Conductor recounting how he made some of the absolute peak hip-hop of this era? Insane. Thank you for the inspiration!
Pray For Haiti is one of my most favorite albums that have dropped within the past 10 years. The production you provide in this album is absolutely incredible. Listening to this album on vinyl is even better so I highly recommend getting a vinyl record of this album and listening to it on a record player. I immediately get dragged into a very specific universe with these beats. Each individual beat you make on this album gives me a certain type of feeling. It would take ages to describe everything I see and feel from these beats. The passion being put into them is very visible and we are all very grateful to have you expressing your artistic visions through these wonderful beats. Thank you Conductor and I hope you carry on sharing your music with us. What you have is a one of a kind and we are very appreciative to listen and see what you express to us with your magnificent production.
Your manner of explaining how you felt while in the process of this composition is honestly beautiful. First time listening to someone equate beatmaking with anxiety; too real! Love and respect. One of the hardest beats ever! 🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
The tee shirt I got is dope bro, much love and respect my brother, and I really appreciate the encouragement you sent me on the video, it means more than you know. Much love and respect my brother!!🙏🏾✊🏾💚
Crazy project. This one will always be a moment for me. It immediately became the only thing I was listening to. You are contributing to some of the best projects out these days!
The genius in not trying to be a genius. What I love about your production on this is you felt your way through the beat like brail as if you were blind and just used your fingers
The first time I heard this beat my jaw dropped. I was walking my dogs on a super sunny day and when the second sequence started it felt like sun rays piercing my body. I listened to it on repeat for the rest of my walk. It's an iconic Griselda-era beat 💯
This is a blessed beat and song, it's so cool to know the story behind it. This album put me on Mach fr and this beat is perfect for him and Westside. Props to you Conductor and your creations, you're channeling something great with this music
Loved how you break down the record not as a musical journey, but as an emotional journey. 2 different keys and 79 bpm is an afterthought to the process of sitting with being uncomfortable and surrendering to what's in front of you. Thanks you for sharing this.
It is so affirming to see such a prolific producer with all this DOOM stuff all over his self and studio. This honestly inspires me to keep creating, even though I am not talented enough for the music game, this feeling/vibe based production just proves that instinct and emotion can satisfy you as a producer, without anyone rapping over it. I appreciate you Conductor!
one of the best beats ive heard in years, possibly of all time tbh its insane,. super unique breakdown too, you're doing the work that needs to be done
Bro, so happy I found this explanation and break down by you. That song "Self Luh" that you did?! Wow, thats what brought me to Mach and yeah man, incredible artistry. Keep going!
This one is my favourite beat/song in Mach's album. Love how you didn't put bass in the rapped parts and the bass loop was dope when Keisha's verse comes in... Pure genius!! Keep it up bro!!
I suffered through about a decade of crippling anxiety, panic attacks and social anxiety. Was the darkest time of my life and I was starting to have thoughts of not wanting to be here anymore. Tried meds, hypnotherapy, CBT, 10 day silent meditation retreat...nothing worked. Then I got married and became a dad. Anxiety stopped. I guess that all my focus shifted from myself and onto my wife and kids. So even though being a parent can be crazy stressful at times I never feel anxiety anymore. I'm thinking about my kids. That said, when I was dealing with intense anxiety it was probably the most productive time of my life muscially. When I was pacing up and down my living room feeling like my heart was going to leap out of my chest and I felt like I was suffocating, if I just started digging for a sample, chop it up etc it would help me to calm down. Then slowly my focus would shift to the music and most of the time I'd get through it. Toughest night of my life was in a cheap hotel in Bangkok. Was on my own because my girlfirend (at the time) had just left to go home and I was staying on backpacking by myself. Had a full blown panic attack, ceiling fan whirring, horrible light that wasn't even bright at night, bars on the window. Just a grim, cheap room. I was on the verge of running down to reception bare chested and asking for an ambulance but I'd been getting into meditation and remembered what I'd heard about not pushing feelings away. So I pulled a chair into the middle of the room under the ceiling fan, sat down, closed my eyes and just sat there with the thought that I wasn't going to move. Counted my breaths and fought through it. Took a long time but eventually it passed. And despite it being a horrible experience it was a turning point because I discovered that I could deal with it alone. After that I never had a full blown attack again. I still had anxiety a lot but I could now keep it from getting to defcon 1.
That’s amazing Keith, proud of you homie! I get it sometimes at the most random times I don’t want it to happen. But I found making music, really takes the edge off as well.
Your description of your process making this song is wild because it perfectly describes the experience I had the first time I listened to Folie a Deux, but in reverse. The "bubbles" seemed like a portal into the e-piano sample, like a spaceship going through warp speed and coming out the other side seeing stars and all types of shit. It's kinda wild that it was like going in the opposite direction for you. Shouts to you for staying in that moment and building something incredible, this tune gave me deja vu as if I heard it once before years ago and it got lost in the ether. Genius brother.
TH-cam did its algorithm magic again... Thank you for such a great video! Times I experience this anxiety while producing, i know something great is going to happen.. You are awesome man, love
Love these breakdowns. Your love for the craft, the music, for the people, it really shows. Refreshing to see someone who's not just trying to show how good they are and being vulnerable with your emotional connection with the music 👌🏾💯
Yo thank you for this it's so dope and personal and inspiring. Conductor and Alchemist are the MVPs of sharing about their processes, so cool and thoughtful.
im a very amateur producer (mostly for fun but hopefully somone hears my stuff one day!) and this has gotta be the best beat breakdown ive ever seen. the way you were able to share the emotional drive behind your song feels really rare among most beat breakdowns which usually focus on technical stuff. really special stuff, man.
Aye man I wanna thank you and Mach. Pray for hati was the one album I kept coming back to and leaning on after my dad died. Never stop! Love and prayers to y’all👌🏿
Man I’m so thankful we could be there for you during that time. 🚂🚂🚂
Man I relate to this exactly. Rip to your pops
This is what art is about
I create for this reason 🙏🏾
:(💔🙏💯❤️
These beat breakdowns are the best thing to happen to the Internet.
Preciate you G. Share it around!!!

Eeeee lamadonna
Oh yea I took a loop and put another loop on it...amazing
God the way this man can communicate his emotions perfectly through the music is insane
blessings family!
The only producer that shows the spiritual side of this production stuff. Thank you sir 💪🏾💪🏾
You can't show this if you don't make music from the heart

thank you for the love-- gotta take a different route
@@ConductorWilliams !!!!!!!
100% agree all about the feeling
music always comes from the heart, and if it doesn't then it isn't real.

🙏🙏🙏 thank you fam
Folie Á Deux has me on a choke hold right now. Thank you for making that song possible 🫶
crazy joint fam-- thanks for rocking with me
Your new Conductor machine album man… Im speechless
This is one of the most legendary hip hop beats in my book, thank you for that!
🙏🙏🙏
easily one of my top ten beats of all time!
when i think of folie a deux i always thought of it as a dark beat but now i hear the two sounds on their own it’s weird how nice they sound
Totally agree
the way you blended samples on this is insane, i thought it was all one sample for a minute
Respect!!
CONDUCTOR !! Happy to see the channel growing brother, keep going !

The way he navigates his emotions through music is krazy!!
I love how you go through your thoughts rather than going through the literal steps. Validates many of my own similar thoughts. CONDUCTOR!!!!
It was song of the year 2021 hands down, no question about it.....
